WHO: Bruno and you
WHERE: The Madrigal's shitty apartment
WHEN: Early Feb- after the gate opens
WHAT: Ratas y noches apasionadas - episode one!!!
WARNINGS: Rats. So many rats. Also really bad telenovela writing.
[The feed opens to a pizza box which has been improvised into what looks like a stage. Bruno's voice can be heard off-screen. Unlike his usual nervous avoidance, he actually sounds pretty excited and happy about this. It sparks joy. A little link appears with the feed as well, because someone has a younger niece who is willing to figure out how the internet works! ]
Ladies and gentlemen, for your entertainment I present the first episode of Ratas y noches apasionadas, a telenovela for the ages!
[He does his best with a theme tune (god someone please help him) letting out a few DAH-DAH-DAHs, before the show beings! It's literally rats. The actors are all rats. In little outfits. They definitely don't seem to be acting at all, just doing usual rat things such as sniffing, washing their little ears, eating food dropped on the 'stage' to keep them there or even taking a nap. The voice-overs for them are very blatantly Bruno, who to be fair is fairly good at making up different voices for the critters. And so, the show begins!]
A little brown rat in a bee costume is the first to appear, followed by a black and white speckled rat who appears to be wearing a little leather jacket.
"I'm just saying, Daniela" given the rougher female voice, this is clearly the leather-jacket one. "You do so much work, all the time! You need to give yourself time to let loose too! You should come to the bar, I'll make sure none of the boys gives you trouble.
"But Sofia, the bee-costume rat sighs, soft and gentle. "However will I achieve my dreams of being a teacher if I stop and party all the time? No, I must study hard and do what I can to help the children. It is...my destiny~"
"Oh, come on, my friend!" Sofia laughs. "I'm not asking you to give up all your studies, just let loose for a while! If not the bar, how about the party tonight? It's at that rich sob's villa, we can have a great time and it will only be one night! Who knows, you might even find a little romance~"
"I suppose...one little party can't hurt," Daniela sighs again, a little more lovelorn this time. "As for love? I don't know. My studies must always come first, I don't know if I have time for romance...as nice as it would be to find someone who cared for me so very much."
Abruptly, Daniela and Sofia are picked up to be replaced by two new rats. One is all black and is wearing a little neckerchief, the other is brown with white paws, wearing a turtleneck. After a moment a flat jar with a lollipop stick, filled with water to make it look like a fancy pool is put between them. Look, he's trying okay.
"Well, my dearest friend, Lorenzo, this is going to be the party of the century, I guarantee it!" this is a very snobby tone, for Mr. Turtleneck. "Anyone who's anyone is going to be there.
"You said that about the last party, Joaquin. And the one before that, and before that, and you'll say that about all you other parties that follow it. It's always the same," the neckerchief rat sounds less impressed. "Last time you filled the pool with custard and nearly drowned in it. If I hadn't have pulled you out-!"
"Ha ha! But you did! Because You are my good friend, and you would always help me. You're the only person I can rely on, you know that, yes?" and then, a little slyly. "I have it on good authority that Daniela will be there. You know, the girl you have fawned over since you were children~"
"Daniela?" Lorenzo sounds astounded, hopeful even!!! "She never comes to the parties in La Cuidad! Oh- oh no, I don't even know what I could say to her! Maybe I should stay away? I'll only mess it up!"
"I won't hear of this! I want you to be happy, and I'll help you," Joaquin assures him. "Maybe in return, you can help me finally woo that twin sister of yours. You know, Sofia is the only rat in this city I want who spurns my advances. You would think being the heir to an enormous fortune would be enough for her, but no! She turns me down every time!"
"Sofia isn't as charmed with money as you think my-" Lorenzo trails off. "Who is that, at your gates?"
A big purple Rattata is placed down. This is a fairly new addition to the troupe and looks pretty confused about being here. He's wearing a little waistcoat. He has a pretty smooth "voice."
"Excuse me, Gentlemen," he clears his throat. "Is this the Rojas villa? "
"Si! I am Lorenzo Rojas! If you're here for the party, you're a little too early- it's not til tonight."
"Oh, there's a party? Excellent! This means I can get a feel for the people here. After all, this will soon be my home, too! For I..am your long, lost brother, Miguel, the true heir of the Rojas fortune! "
[There's a chorus of ratty gasps - before Bruno's normal voice cuts in like a voice-over.]
Could this be true?! Could Lorenzo's life be a lie? Could the fortune he thought was his be wrenched from his grasp by this handsome stranger?!! What about the party? Will Lorenzo find the courage to tell Daniela how he feels? Find out in the next thrilling episode of Ratas y noches apasionadas!
