WHAT: One of Julieta's Gacha pulls was animal curse and it can't be controlled when she's emotional. Weeeelll it's been an emotional time for her.
WARNINGS: Swearing in Spanish

[When the video begins, those who have visited Caista will recognize the place where Julieta reigns supreme: the kitchen. That is not what is strange.

No, what is strange is the very beautiful but actually MASSIVE osprey hawk angrily pecking at the phone or attempting to claw it with her talons. The osprey flaps all five feet of her wingspan and screeches and chirps. Those who actually understand animals fluently may come to realize that the hawk is not only speaking in Spanish but, more precisely, swearing in Spanish. The words she uses are enough to make a sailor blush.

What the cherry on this stranger than strange sundae is, is that Julieta is nowhere to be seen as this large bird of prey keeps pecking away at HER phone using HER username.]

[Another bob of her little (well, not THAT little) head.

Another chirp but she looked so happy that Mirabel figured it out so quickly.]

[Dios mío this is bad? This is really bad? Her mom's a bird now. Her mom is cursed as a bird and...

Mirabel can't help but feel a teeny bit of excitement - the thought of not being alone in her curse. Ugh! She quickly tries to shake the feeling away - this is her mother she shouldn't feel that way.

But the feeling still lingers, whether she wants it to or not. And she feels awful for it.]

Okay - okay, you might be cursed like me. We have to find a way for you to turn back - uhmm... thinking calm thoughts helped me when I got stuck as a wolf, so...

[Cursed! Julieta screeches, she can't be cursed! She has to look after the family! She stomps around the table, which... admittedly, is adorable, but it's easily some of the most emotive she's been. Apparently she can't quite repress properly in this form.

She lets out several more screeches, grateful that Mirabel can't understand her since she's cursing up a storm, borrowing some of the words and insults she's heard from Gordon Ramsay.

Finally, once most of it is out, she is huffing and puffing, her feathers going up and down in her flaring as she tries to calm down. She can't believe this. How did she get cursed?! She lets out a sad chirp, not this too. She can't have THIS on top of everything else this family has to deal with.]

[Well, okay. That didn't help.]

O - okay! It's okay! It's not as bad as it sounds, I promise!

[I mean yeah she was a wolf for that first month and couldn't change back BUT]

I think I have some potion left in my room, maybe that will help?

[Ever seen a bird pace, Mira? You're about to. Julieta is pacing, which, it would probably look like the way Mirabel paces but older. She goes back and forth and is chirping and screeching, wondering how did this happen? She didn't visit that stupid spirit realm. What, people were just randomly getting cursed now! Would her cooking heal it? Was this something else she couldn't fix, again? Why did this keep happening to her family!

Julieta keep screeching, unable to calm down as a bird which was only making the curse worse.

Maybe definitely get the potion, Mira.]

Okay, yeah, definitely need to get the potion. Don't um, go anywhere, okay?

[She doesn't think her mom would, but also it would be really bad if her mom took off flying and she couldn't find her again. She slips for a few minutes to get the potion, and she's... not sure how to give it to a bird. She grabs a bowl and pours some of it into it and sets the bowl in front of Julieta.]

Can you drink out of this? I can help you if you can't.

[While Mirabel was gone, Julieta, more than a bit depressed, had actually moved to sit on her mortar and pestle, the one thing she always felt control over, the one thing that made her feel like she could tackle anything, maybe even this. She looks up when her daughter comes back in and hops out, hopping over to the bowl and stumbles a bit. Being a bird with bird coordination is difficult. She sips the potion and tilts her head back.

With the potion and having calmed down a good deal, the curse is temporarily lifted and Julieta is back in her human body, sitting on the counter. When her vision went from ridiculously sharp back to human and she was suddenly looking down, not up, at her daughter she looked at her hands and touched her face and then hopped off the kitchen island to hug Mirabel tightly.]

MIJA YOU DID IT!

[nonmagical]

You did it, it was the potion you made for me.

[She tightly hugs her mom back.]

I'm glad you're back.

Ah, mi vida, thank you so much. [She hugs Mira tight and close, stroking her back and just letting out relieved sighs.] Being a bird is muy malo, I will never again remark on how bad it is when my hands are cramping.

[She just, lets her mom hug her.]

I guess we'll need enough potion for two of us. But I mean, you could learn how to fly and that would be pretty awesome?

To be able to fly... it is a rather lovely notion. Though I would rather figure out the triggers to this. Can't exactly be transforming into a bird in the middle of my kitchen at Nuestra.
