Abuela in turn took the abilities as gifts and raises the other family members to feel the same way. Luz could see, right away (thanks to countless fanfiction and critical reading and understanding) where this could go wrong.

She could see that right NOW. Luisa was strong, she was proud of her powers, but they would shape other things too. Luisa was seen now as the strong one, too overpowering to play in regular games, getting older and now becoming an easy person to call.
