Like before, there's plenty of smaller monsters for them to face that are manageable with teamwork -- as well as more bodies of failed candidates killed in various ways. Ripped apart, crushed, burnt alive, bled out. On one horrifying occasion, they turned a corner to witness a candidates final moments- they screamed out for help before they were impaled by monster's claws- their body lifeless by the time either of them could reach them.
Jun doesn't speak more than he needs to the whole time, doing his best to focus on the mission on hand rather than taking in the horrors around him. This is just a nightmare. Anyone here has been dead for years.
It's only when they reach an alcove that could be used for a moment of respite, when Jun is worn out and taking a moment to catch his breath, does he speak up]
