[Bruno is generally very conflict-avoidant. He doesn't like getting into fights, decades worth of snide remarks and being ostracised by literally everyone around him have made him pretty meek in comparison to the rest of his family. Because of this, he tends to only go near the spirit realm gates if someone he cares about is in danger.
So it's rather unfortunate (and ironic) that his green gem was taken. Anyone near the spirit gate might find Bruno, his nail-bat held aloft, yelling loudly as he races into it. ]
You wanna GO? Let's go!!!!
[Folks might want to follow him so he doesn't get himself killed. His impulse control might be gone, but he's still a tiny, middle-aged man who weighs about the same as a wet towel. He keeps blinking in and out of sight here- realising he can go invisible now. Luckily, because he's bound to the shadow element, he can't keep it going for more than a couple of seconds at a time, so he's not impossible to track. ]
[Nightmares]
[Bruno's nightmares are, at first, seemingly innocuous. He seems to be being trailed by an eldery woman, carrying a candle. She looks disappointed. Ashamed, sometimes. ]
Brunito, I really expected better from you. The Ortega girl was heartbroken when you told her that young man of hers was going to stray. Why would you want to hurt her like that? We're supposed to be pillars for this community and now we have a crying girl at our doorstep.
[Bruno shakes his head, squeezing his eyes shut quickening his pace, trying to block her out.]
You're not real, this isn't happening, you're not even here.
[As the nightmare goes on, more people join the old woman. Kaisou residents might recognise Bruno's sisters, Pepa and Julieta, following quietly behind their mother- Julieta's eyes downcast, Pepa's face like thunder as literal thunder rumbles above her head. Despite her anger, it's the old woman who speaks.]
It was your sister's big day. What were you thinking? Her wedding was ruined and the village will be talking about this for years. All you needed to do was sit quietly and leave it alone. Why do you always have to cause problems? Do you WANT to hurt your family?
[Bruno tries to quicken his pace, but even more people join behind her. The people of the Encanto, their voices a cacophony, talking over one another, all with their own grievances they wanted to be heard. ]
My favourite vase broke because you said- You knew the crop would die and you didn't stop- YOU KILLED MY GOLDFISH - Why did you tell me about Alejandro? Now that's all I can think- You made this happen- This is your fault - You knew about this - This is your fault- Your fault- Your-
[Bruno lets out a strangled scream- making a sweeping motion with his nail-bat. He doesn't aim to hit anyone, simply to get himself some distance.]
Stop it, stop it, STOP IT. It's not MY fault!!! I don't make things happen!!
