[Amal is dressed a little differently today. Repping Thavnairian weave and a ribbon in his hair, he's seemingly conquered the incredible bedhead he's nursed for several weeks.]

Hey everyone! Did you think you were rid of me? Sorry to disappoint! Being exceptionally difficult to get rid of is one of my many talents, as it turns out.

My birds are acting like I was dead instead of asleep, when I don't even remember going to bed. But I remember a lot of other things—it was like I was home. Like I never left. Maybe... my body was here while my soul was there? I have no idea, but I'm awake now, and I have every reason to believe what I saw happen... uh, happened.

So. What'd I miss?

[A pause.]

Oh, and what's a BBL? I woke up to a bunch of texts from work asking if I'd 'recovered' yet.

Um...a lot of things? I know a lot of people got hurt and that they were really upset about it. And that things are slowly getting back to normal.

[Pause]

But I'm glad that you're awake now!

That's what I heard, more or less. I'm glad things are returning to normal.

[He would headpat Antonio if he could.]

Thanks! I did some cool things while I was gone, but I'm due for a break. It's just too bad I can't introduce you to the new friends I made.

[Antonio would get a kick out of the Loporrits.]

Then how about you describe them? I wouldn't mind hearing more about your new friends!

[Because he was curious? He can't see it but the boy was leaning closer toward the screen!]

They're very short, but they make up for it with their long, fluffy ears. They have soft fur in shades of brown to white, big round blue eyes, and little wiggly noses with whiskers. They're bunnies, you see. They were given the ability to walk on two feet and talk to us, and they're smart too!

So they're like people but they look like rabbits? Now that's not fair, I want to know someone like that! I bet they could even talk to a bunch of animals and they're not telling us!

[See that? There was a small pout coming from him.]

I... hmm. Maybe? I don't recall that being something they can do... but they could probably build a machine for that. They're really good at computers.

[He laughs at Antonio's pout.]

Don't worry, big man. You're still very special. The Loporrits are far more interested in the stars, at any rate.

Are they that smart? Then I wonder if they could also build rocket ships? Or would that be too much?

[Pause]

But it sounds like they already might have if they're interested in space.

A rocket ship? You mean like a boat that sails the stars? As a matter of fact, they can! Each of them has an interest in something that they take very seriously. Some of them focus on making maps, or growing food, or how to make ships that everyone can fit in.

[He'd give Antonio the biggest head pat if he could right now.]

So, I think your talent is unrivaled for now. They're more concerned with helping people be... well, people. And keeping everyone safe.

Really, they do that? It doesn't sound too different from what we do here. Although, I guess it would make things a little easier if they all worked together on that ship. It would make a lot more fun when people have different things they like or do.

[Just saying!]

But that's a good thing. I would be really upset if they didn't because it would mean a lot of people would be sad.

That's right. And they work really well together! I owe them a lot for helping me and my friends get home safely.

[He brightens.]

Even if someone else shared your ability, they don't have what makes you, you. You understand? There could be a thousand people who talk to animals, but none of them would have your heart. None of them would see the world the same way, or tell the same stories, or laugh the way you do. None of them would be Antonio!

I don't think you need to worry about anything except being yourself.

[speaksanimal]

Yeah, I guess so! And I can look on the bright side too! If someone can talk to animals like I can, do you know what that means?

[Then he leaned in a little closer. Suddenly, in a low voice...?]

We can have a tv show with lots of animals working together! [It makes sense in context. Really, it does.]
