[It feels like a strange dream that Roxas was waiting in the park for Sora. The network post was very much still there, with all of the messages back and forth from various people. One particular thread is read over and over a few times as a sense of anxiety creeps up.
Was the anxiety from carrying a giant, evil looking Key-sword thing around? Nope. It would make sense if that was the case, though from what he's noted on the network, no one seems to give the weird blade a second look. The anxiety instead comes from a few simple comments about a date. That was far harder to parse than this not-as-heavy-as-it-looks giant key. Guh... His heart still hasn't fully calmed down and it's been well over a day.
Right now he was waiting in the park after letting Sora know where he'd be, sitting on a bench and watching people go by on a Monday. At least there wouldn't be a ton of kids around at this time.]
[Meanwhile Sora is doing his best to be punctual. He's heading out to the park where they decided on their day out and Sora is feeling the same fluttery excitement that anyone would expect. It's been a while since he's been on a date with someone and asking Roxas to make this a date seemed pretty natural for him to ask. He hopes it wasn't too weird but with how things have been developing lately it seems like it's working out?
Roxas is a fun person to hang out with. Not to mention how he's cute and a little fun to tease from time to time. They get along easily and after Roxas managed to save him from that weird fae-kidnapping situation he's felt a little better about all the flirting. Not only that but ... Being around Roxas? Feels somehow ... comfortable. Like he's always done it.
Sora's butterfly wings are brighter than usual as he adjusts his red and black hoodie. It sure is a pain having to adjust all of his clothing but he's getting better at fixing stuff up with some help from his mom.]
[Hearing his name called out makes Roxas snap his head up, a smile popping up on his face despite himself. He stands up and shakes his head at that even if he has been here longer than he wants to admit.]
Not really. Just sat down for a moment.
[He clears his throat, standing up straighter, feeling better about his own choice of just wearing a hoodie. Sora will never know he spent part of the night fretting over what to wear on a date. The hoodie seemed the safest option compared to some of the things that he had been tempted to put on.]
Since you're a local, probably don't need to ask if you had trouble finding the park...
[It's a pretty big park so Sora is just going to lead them towards an open area that isn't used for outdoor sports or anything. Some trees are around and some park benches too.]
[Nodding, Roxas shoulders the Keyblade so he doesn't hit Sora on accident as they walk. He looks around at the area he's brought to with an appreciative noise.]
This is perfect. Are you gonna sit on one of the benches?
[Roxas waits till Sora sits down before he takes a deep breath. Just like with the axe, he feels that nagging feeling that he knows just what to do. So he goes with it, letting his body do what it wanted to.
There's nothing stopping him till he slams the Keyblade into the ground, the teeth of it digging into the ground. He pulls it up and a decent chunk of dirt came up with it.]
[Honestly when he watches Roxas he was expecting something different. What he sees makes Sora feel... Strange. Like he's missing something important. Like there's an empty spot in his heart.
... Like he wants one too.]
Whoa.
[He's not laughing or teasing. He's just looking at Roxas like he's incredible.]
[Shaking the dirt off of the Keyblade, Roxas looks over at Sora.]
Well, yeah. It's not as flimsy as it looks.
[He raises his hand as his thoughts stray to the fact that this was annoying to carry around like this. The sudden lightness and a flash of darkness draws his attention to a now empty hand.]
[What does that mean??? Not that Roxas can really think about that right now with his hand being taken. A blush covers his cheeks just as the contact, and he has to try not to pull away out of embarrassment. These two have practically cuddled on a couch during a movie and this is what makes him feel like he's going to melt right then and there...]
Do you think there's something on my hand? I haven't noticed anything...
[He takes the hand and holds it, warm palms together.]
Yeah, inside! The sword I mean! You know how in some video games characters can make their weapons and stuff vanish? It goes inside them so they don't have to carry it around? Maybe that's happening to you?
[Sora means a Hammerspace but he doesn't remember the word for it right now.]
[It's far too tempting to just close his fingers around Sora's hand and hold it. That would defeat the purpose of figuring out where the key-thing went, so Roxas focuses on the words instead.]
Hmmm... So I should think about it coming back?
[He closes his eyes and thinks about just that. The fingers on his left hand move reflexively and he feels the weight of the blade in that hand now.]
[Sora could have asked or just taken it, but finding an excuse like this is cute.]
Yes? Is that weird?
[Roxas blinks and has to think really hard for a moment. It feels so natural for the blade to be in either hand that it is a shock when he never recalls learning to do anything like this.]

Roxas! Hey!
[He smiles as he waves and jogs up to him.]
Hope you weren't waiting too long!

Haha, nope. I used to play here as a kid all the time.
[Born and raised in small city Kaisou. It's just how it goes.]
no subject
You probably know a good place for swinging this key thing around then.
[Somewhere where they won't accidentally get in the way or anything. Roxas... does not want to hit someone on accident.]

Does this work?

This is perfect. Are you gonna sit on one of the benches?

[Sora parks his butt on the bench.]
So, let's see you use this thing.
[Still looks like a goth Hot Topic prop to him.]

A-Ah... oops.

...... Where did it go...?
no subject
[Did the keysword just vanish?! Sora jumps to his feet.]
Roxas?!
no subject
[Noooooo! Roxas liked the keysword, just found it annoying to carry around like that. He sighs and looks at Sora.]
There was no instructions on this thing. I don't know how to make it come back.
no subject
Huh, maybe it went inside of you.
[...??? Inside??]
Here, give me your hand?
[He reaches out to take Roxas' dominant hand gently.]
no subject
[What does that mean??? Not that Roxas can really think about that right now with his hand being taken. A blush covers his cheeks just as the contact, and he has to try not to pull away out of embarrassment. Whoa! Aha! I guess I was right?! It's in your other hand, though!?
[Is Roxas secretly ambidextrous?]
no subject
Yes? Is that weird?
[Roxas blinks and has to think really hard for a moment. It feels so natural for the blade to be in either hand that it is a shock when he never recalls learning to do anything like this.]
Wait... That is weird... I'm right handed!
no subject
Try swinging it with your left hand too! Maybe you're good at it! How's it feel?
[Honestly, this is pretty cool.]
no subject
It feels normal... like having it in general.
[Though he will swing it a few times. There's a frown on his face after.]
I don't like only having one of these. It feels unbalanced. If I use both hands it's not so bad.
no subject
Geeze, Roxas. You're so cool maybe you should get another one and use two at the same time, huh?
[While Sora might only be joking...]
no subject
I wouldn't even know how to get a second one. I don't even know where this first one came from.
no subject
[Sora glances at it.]
It's really cool, though. I'm kind of jealous.
[He's not sure why though...!]
no subject
[Jealous? Roxas doesn't know what there's to be jealous about. It was a weird weapon, though he knows it's his weapon.]
... wanna try holding it?
