[The video starts, and there's the girl, sitting cross legged, booklet open as she is still trying to read as much as she can, and then she looks up, a brave smile on despite it not quite reaching her eyes].

Hi, uh, city dwellers! Luz Noceda here, apparently new, uh, tourist that somehow dropped here by mistake! At least, that's what I WOULD think, but now that I have this book and device, inclined to believe I don't just get to skip and jump back home. Heh! Not the first time that's happened!

[Joking helps, because OH BOY is Luz quietly trying to keep it together].

Did everyone get here through a kinda maze? I'm going to guess it wasn't the same, since my getting here was through a place I'd been to before, with some pretty choice memories. RUDE ones too, because I'm kinda already having a bad day, didn't really need the reminder about all the stuff on my mind, thanks! Nosy...labyrinth...thing.

Anyway! Pretty sure I'm lost, and I don't think a random girl asking strangers what the deets are is going to be really appreciated, SOOO I figured, why not go to my trusted friend, the internet! Or intranet, I guess? It seems like this thing is localized, right?

[Hold on, there's some fumbling and Hunter switches over to audio. He doesn't want to bother with the effort that typing takes when Luz Noceda is somehow in the city.]

[ The face you see is very familiar, however, Luz might notice this woman's ears are round and human-shaped. Her gold tooth is normal human-sized, only peeking out when she speaks, and her eyes are both a golden-brownish hue.

She's currently facepalming. ]

Sheesh, sometimes I hate this place. Kid, how old are you even?

[Oh no...another kid who showed up in this realm. He can tell she seems overwhelmed, so he'll answer in a gentle tone]

Nice to meet you, Luz. I'm Elliot Craig, I'm a teacher at a school in town. Sorry you got dragged into all this.

I can try to answer your questions, if you'd like. But I'll admit I don't know everything.

[Ok, that was really loud and jolted Luz STRAIGHT into reality. Sobering reality too. Considering the cubes in said labyrinth reflected her regrets, guess what she's kept seeing at the forefront of her mind?

[Less panic, at least. Just a little bit].

[That voice sounded familiar, and though she was completely baffled to why Eda would be here, her fear at least started to subside a little bit].

Oh thank goodness Eda, I...wait.

[It started to register what she just asked, something that made no sense for her to do, and then her eyes focused on who she thought this was and oh boy. That subsiding fear went right out the window].

What the Titan is going on?! Why do you have human ears?! And normal eyes?!

What IS this place!

Oh, don't worry, I'm pretty sorry about it too!

Mister Craig then? How did I get here? Where IS here? And why am I seeing someone who I definitely know from my own world and someone who I thought I knew but looks completely different and seems not to know who I am?

[ Blinks. Blinks again. Okay, something is very weird here. Eda has noticed the strangers from other worlds coming in, sure, but she hasn't interacted closely with any of them, so she certainly didn't expect one of them to know her. ]

No! I am very much not good! At all! You're Eda, the Owl lady, aren't you? Greatest witch on the Boiling Isles? Bounty on your head?

Here is Kaisou, it's a city in the United States on Earth. I believe the place you described was the Spirit Realm. A number of people from other worlds have been coming in through there...no one knows why.

It was a lot like an inbetween place I was stuck in on one of my former travels. Like, weirdly similar except for the whole maze-y part. Oh, and all the cubes showing me all my regrets like a torturing video feed. Who knew that the Spirit Realm kept tabs on you like that?

It sure looks and sounds like her! Well, mostly. Her ears and eyes are different, but her voice? Her mannerisms? All her!

[Hunter is entirely clueless, and he's squinting at his phone in confusion. The last time he had seen Luz was weeks ago, and it's been a few weeks since the incident at Eclipse Lake....

What, did Amity tell her about how desperate he had been to get the key?]

[He draws in a deep breath, trying to focus here.]

You came through a maze? Did anyone else come with you?

That's where you're from! At least...ugh. All right, let's just forget about that right now.

So you don't know me, we just met. Sure. To answer your question. I am fourteen. I am new in town and I am very confused. I went through some weird goobly-goobly place and wound up here, in this city, and I have no idea why or where I'm even supposed to go from here.

Care to help a fallen traveler?

[ Oh boy.

Eda does not consider herself the motherly type. But fourteen. And all alone. Nope, she's gotta do something.

She sighs. ]

Wanna stay at my place? At least until you got a better idea about... [ gestures ] everything?

Why wouldn't you...uh, DUH! Did you forget where we were? What you saw?! What you found out about...Grimwalkers?

[What. The heck. Did this place sap your mind of memories? If so, why was she unaffected, but he wasn't? This was definitely eating away at her usual happy go lucky spirit, and she was already running on empty, thanks to a certain poop head and his witch hunting mania]!

No, it was just me. Do people normally come with someone else?

Really? That's awful! I knew the Spirit Realm wasn't a friendly place, but that just seems cruel.

[Elliot is not a fan of the spirit realm, no siree!]

Huh, that's strange. [he pauses, trying to sort this out] Oh...I wonder if this has to do with those memories and the alternate dimensions people talked about.

[Luz looks up, and all the bravado she had after going into the Emperor's mind and seeing hunter almost die, him saving her, then having a panic attack and running away after awful revelations, only to wander through a labyrinth of her own mistakes and find nothing familiar? Gone. Now she's just scared and tired and confused and she just wants things to make sense. So have a wibbly Luz, just hanging on].

I have no idea what you're talking about, human. I don't know where you were, but I was at the castle before I went through a portal.

[An exasperated noise.]

Not that I've seen, but knowing you I wouldn't have been surprised if you had managed to drag the Owl Lady, or your girlfriend, or your rat along with you.

[Yes, please, let HER remember the look in his eyes when Bellos betrayed him like the rat infested soul monger he was, having him sink into the abyss. Let her remember how she tried to save him and it failed, only to have Bellos taunting her, reveal himself like the garbage villain he was, and almost kill her.

Hunter saving her, her saving them both, her watching him literally break down and lose his sense of himself, and run from the Owl house while she called after him helplessly.

After all, the cubes played it all again, because yay, we definitely needed the play by play of all of that again! Now she was near Hunter and he didn't remember anything? What kind of unfair garbage was this]?

Ok, you KNOW that King is not a rat. I specifically remember King telling me that he reminded you of that when he started scratching at your head.

[How? How was she going to tell him this]?

[Luz was trying to sound as cheerful about it as she could, because what else could she do? He was a stranger, she couldn't start asking for sympathy from a stranger].

[ Oh no oh no oh no the kid is emotional. Eda has to bite the inside of her cheek to not start freaking out a little herself, because she is so not equipped for this.

She puts on a smile for the kid, though. ]

You can do that, right? Or do I gotta come pick you up?

Yeah, at least you're out. Try not to dwell too much on it ok? I think a place like that would be hard on anyone.

[He at least is sympathetic! He's not going to pry the specifics of what she saw, since hey- he just met her. He respects people's privacy even when they're kids]

Right. So for a lot of us, we've lived on this world all our lives, but recently we've been getting memories about another life - and stuff sometimes too. Like my friend got a class photo of us that we definitely didn't attend, in this life.

At the same time, there seems to be multiple worlds out there. Like alternate realities. So your friend you see here might be an alternate universe version of your friend. And whether she'll start to remember you ....well, who knows?

[Look, she knows this is somehow not HER Eda, but it also so much like her Eda that Luz can't help herself. She could hide her feelings from Hunter, even people here, but not from her Owl lady mom, even if she didn't remember her.

Luz was not that strong, not when so much had happened she barely had time to breathe].
