WHO: Phainon and everyone
WHERE: Libra, mostly
WHEN: End of the month!
WHAT: Prophecy post!
WARNINGS: will update if necessary
[The feed opens to a certain good boy- Phainon is sitting on a couch with Snowy, his white Samoyed, partway in his lap. The dog seems to be worried for the man, who himself has a fluffy white tail that is hanging and only wagging every so often, with white ears that drop onto his hair. It frames his entire mood without saying anything at all.
When he speaks, his voice is a little more serious than he usually carries it.]
I'm told that usually the prophecy posts are done around this time, so I've got a few from different people here. [A beat, and he frowns, his tail stilling.] I'll be honest, from what I've seen so far? It doesn't look great.
[Snowy whines, and Phainon pets his head, the man exhaling as he starts.]
Usually my prophecy is from my shadow- and this time, it turned into a broken sword. I've seen those before, in my past life; felt them, too. [He figures he doesn't need to elaborate, since the words themselves should be a good idea of the image he saw.] I have Bailey's, they told me theirs was the Hanged Man- but it kept switching between being upright and reversed. They said that... "Upright, it means uncertainty, sacrifice, waiting, lack of direction, perspective, and contemplation. Reversed, it means stalling, disinterest, apathy, stagnation, and avoiding sacrifice." [A beat, and Phainon scratches the back of his head.] Nito said his sounded like an actual roar, too.
[A huff, and his tail briefly sways, Snowy chuffing in his laugh.] Whatever is coming, I think it'd be better to be careful, you know? None of this sounds good.
[And he'd rather people be safe than sorry.]

I've heard many a dragon's roar in my time. 'Tis rare that what follows is something pleasant. It may stem from sorrow or rage or pain... but I cannot say for certain.
My apologies for such a dire view on matters we cannot confirm. But I ask that we be careful in the coming weeks.

[No, time to focus. It sounds like useful information in some way, maybe more than the rest of the vague warnings on this post. But on the other hand-]
Why do I get the feeling that there isn't going to be a convenient giant, scaled monster that needs killing to solve the problem?
[-It's not himself if he's not at least a little sardonic about everything.]
Do people get these... predictions very often?

So. Got something to do with hospitals would be my guess. I'd be real glad if it can fuckin' stop now because if I have to watch another episode of St Elsewhere, I'm gonna kick something.

[Flins' fingers go to his lips in thought.]
Despite their purpose to save human lives, getting repeated premonitions of them is rather foreboding. Ideally, never seeing a hospital is the best outcome.
[He's stating the obvious, but its more just he needs to voice his thought process.]
How did those episodes end, Husk?

[They fiddle with one of their tarot decks as they shuffle and reshuffle. It's clearly so they can have something to do with their hands out of nervousness.]
At first, I thought it was one of my Pokemon playing around with the cards, but...

I am not too well versed in tarot, but I can assume cards moving on their own is not the norm.

Lycaon is looking at a post-it note with his very neat cursive handwriting, going over what he's classified this prophecy to be.]
It is not only sounds, but scents that have been foretelling.
Top Notes: Peppermint, Frost.
Heart Notes: Plastic. Ammonia.
Base Notes: Peroxide. Antiseptic. Metal.
If I had to associate it with anything, it would be a hospital. The disinfectants there are very close to what I'm picking up.
However, there's something a bit more sinister when the metal is added in. It's not a typical scent.
I don't want to jump to conclusions, but a metallic smell may not always be iron.
not here
[He was probably just feeling run down from the exertion and change in weather, or so he told himself. Besides, it was the height of arrogance to assume any part of a prophecy was going to involve him.]

I know it's a bad card, one of the worst to get. But isn't it even worse if it's upside-down, too?

"I’ve never attended a family reunion where I was not warned of a Venus flytrap holding court among the older women, or a pitcher plant glistening with drops of sweet poison trying to sell his version of the family maelstrom to his young male cousins."
Whether you're being warned to avoid family reunions or carnivorous plants is up to your interpretation.

While it's not necessarily a prophecy, the seas have 'moods' as well. They have been quite still this month, but I'll be sure to note for any differences if they decide to become more turbulent.
[He pauses, his gaze turning out to the sea. It's clear he's at the top of the lighthouse on his shift.]
You are grown up now, but I will say it either way: take care of yourself.
voice; un: archangel
[He barely finishes that last word before he hears himself. There is a heavy, heavy sigh.]
Never mind, I take that back.
So - something bad is on the horizon, that's what I'm hearing. No one has any idea how to prepare for it? These... cards just tell you it's coming, but not how to brace yourselves?
un: absolutenumber
[Says one of the seers.]
Every month, I go into a trance, pick up a random book from somewhere, and write down something off the first page I open it to. And every month, what I wrote down turns out to be relevant to something about to happen. It's positively absurd, but collecting all the signs and symbols from everyone with these sort of abilities can occasionally provide a few useful hints as to what's in motion around us.

[ lingering, aching. cold. sometimes the Echo gives him a headache but it clears up after the static, after the movie, after everything plays out
but this just. stays. the center of his face is a nexus of discomfort. he's got his phone screen on low light and is laying in his room, burrowed under blankets. ]
It's cold and antiseptics and cleaning products and the ghost of people-smell--like God's second shittiest hospital. Stale coffee and stinging amounts of clean.
At least it doesn't smell like blood?
[ he... thinks? the cold is so cloying and heavy in his face he's losing the nuance of it all ]
text: un: theDuke
But there's definitely something deeply upsetting about having visions of a cold place with a too-clean scent to it. Like a ... laboratory.
Was it just that? Somewhere cold and uncomfortably sterile? Or were there other details?

So many places to sit, but ain't nobody at the function. Empty chairs all the way down. Unsure about what the status of the tables is.
video: un: ♡☮STAMPEDE
That seems lonely.
If there's a function there should be more people.
That's a pretty sad one, Nick.

Okay I think I am doing this right. I am unsure if this means anything, your moon could just be strange and triggering my usual hallucinations. However when I look up at the moon tonight I got some flashes, I seen some visions of meeting up with someone whom I don’t particularly like thinking about. Which was weird, then the visions got shall we say bloody which is normal. So it could be your moon triggering my hallucinations or it may be something else hinting at what is to come.

Then it looks like the Hanged Man, reversed.
And then Cotton fixes the zoom on her camera, and....whatever she's knit, it's not great (vibes wise, anyway). The Hanged...Men are positioned not unlike the court figures in a playing card deck, their legs partly entwined at the middle of the 'card'.
Cotton's musing voice joins the display.]
Not quite sure what to make of this one I'm afraid...It's one of those tarot things, isn't it? I don't think I've ever seen one like that though.

So instead I'm going to show you the photoboard I made!
[Pinned onto this month's corkboard are pictures of various people at a family reunion who don't look very happy to be there. More than a few of them are squinting at the camera wondering why the hell their photographer is taking pictures of this, of all things.]
I accepted a job to take pictures of a family reunion before Evernight took over for a while, and then when I came back the reunion was just days away. I really wasn't going to attend but then photo-trance me went "lol no" and now I think I'm not allowed near that house anymore.
