WHAT: Investigating and purifying the remains of the carnival

[While there have been no official announcements, words of the Baron's carnival of death has been slowly getting around by word of mouth from the victims who went through the ordeal. While most wouldn't be blamed from wanting to stay far far away from El Nido for awhile, there was still the matter of what remains after the Baron's onslaught. And so, various folks, for their own reasons, have decided to investigate just that]

Mmm, hopefully they'll be willing to speak. I don't want to push them too hard.

[ Not after it sounds like they've been through so much - but maybe they'll be glad for people to actually speak to as well. ]

It is quite a confusing time for many of them. If they died without even realizing it, they're sure to still think they're among the living and try to do their daily tasks.

Some of my colleagues that perished were often the same way. I would find their incorporeal forms attempting to do their daily checks of the docks, endlessly attempting to secure a rope that would not touch their hands.

[It took quite a few conversations before the truth sunk in.]

Shroud has informed me that his partner is...not skilled at bedside manner when it comes to delivering the souls to the afterlife. Luckily we have been granted access first. Would you assist me in easing their spirits before their ferryman arrives?

[He smiles, putting a gentle hand on her head as he looks at the gate. Hopefully, that was the only thing they'd be doing.]

[ Mission: "Sneak up on the neighbourhood cryptid" is a go. ]

Mmm, I've met some similar spirits too. They would keep trying to go on as normal, even as people walked by them and everything slipped through their hands... It's a difficult conversation but one that needs to happen.

[ If they never know the truth, they can never truly rest.

And there's a little chirp at the hand on her head, blinking up at him before humming gently - the tip of her starry tail wagging gently. ]

Of course. Between the two of us, we should be able to help them be at peace before the others do their work. And hopefully we'll get more information about what happened too.

I agree. A strong but gentle tone, letting them know they're relieved of their duty. We'll likely have to help guide them to their loved ones if they also perished.

[Each spirit was a different story. Each had their own circumstances.]

That's the spirit. [haha get it.] With you helping me, things will go that much smoother.

I can only hope that this situation was an isolated incident and not a sign of things to come.
