That Shop on Main Street
WHO: Aglaea & Open
WHERE: A new shop opening on Main Street
WHEN: Early October
WHAT: Aglaea's working on her new shop in Kaisou, come say hello.
WARNINGS: N/A
A blonde woman is standing on a sidewalk, looking at a storefront as a Leavanny is adjusting a sign above the window. Those who are sensitive to the spirit world will see a brief flash of something that looks like thread before it disappears again.
"Weft, make sure it's as straight as possible. I trust your judgment." She turns towards the Furfrou resting at her feet. "Weave, let's head inside and set up the dress forms and some samples. I want to make sure everything is set up as well as it can." Weave stands and waits for Aglaea to grab his harness before he leads her inside to work.
Going inside, the threads glimmer again as she settles in to work on her garmentmakers. To most, they look like normal dress forms, but the residents can see that the black forms are floating, instead of sitting on a base.
"Once everything here is done, I can have the marketing company get to work."

Unfortunately Edward has something of a talent for disrupting peaceful days. It's a habit he cultivated in his younger years as a pirate, and one he's never quite been able to get rid of even now that he's calmed down. The windchimes clink cacophonously against each other, and sure enough:
"Anyone in here?" he calls, loud and brash. "I heard from my usual haberdasher a tailor's moved in, I've some work for them!" He pauses. "I'll pay well," he adds, "and it's an opportunity to get your hands on authentic 18th-century material, on top of that." Which is true, he just doesn't mention that it's because it came straight from the 18th century.
no subject
"Yes. You've found her." She chuckles. At least he has the energy for such an outfit. "What are you looking for, exactly?"
no subject
"I've had these for some time," he says. "I work on the ships at the harbor, and some of the rougher work's done its damage. I was hoping you could help me out here?"
no subject
"These clothes are very well loved." She says. "I can repair them, but I'm sure you understand that I may not be able to find the original material. I will do my best to match." She didn't know of a way to source 18th century fabric that would have be an exact match.
no subject
He's made his peace with that, as best as he can. Still. He flinches when she says she might not find the original material, but breathes in, then out. Nods. "It's all right," he says, doing his best to keep the grief out of his voice. "To have them repaired is all that I need, truly. They're, ah. They belonged to," a life I once led, "an ancestor of mine, so they're a touch special to me."
no subject
"Especially since they mean so much to you. Do you have any sort of deadline for these?"
no subject
Well, she does have Pokemon, but. That doesn't necessarily mean much.
"I can take those terms," he says, before glancing at the Furfrou. "Oh, I've a sheep back home that likes to curl at my feet that same way." Well, a Mareep, actually.
no subject
"So, are you a period actor for something, then? I know you said you're working at the harbor. Also, your name and contact information?" If he was wearing them for work, that had to be the reason. She makes some notes about the clothing and what needs to be done.
When she's done, she looks down at Weave. "That's wonderful. Weave here has been my service animal for a few years now. Quite wonderful animals, they are."
no subject
Actually...hm, he should get her in contact with Zulius, he might appreciate having a tailor on call.
"Adorable little beast," Edward says, with the tone of someone who's very experienced with wrangling rambunctious animals by now. He kneels down. "Is it all right if I pet the little fellow, or is he working?"
no subject
She finishes taking some notes and nodded at his question. "Go right ahead. Thank you for asking."
no subject
And Edward is going to make sure he can watch her reaction when she sees Zulius in all his glory.
Anyway. He starts gently petting Weave, and says, "Ah, you're a good boy, hm?"
no subject
"I will stop by Vogue in the future. Is there any time it isn't too busy?" She preferred her first visit to anywhere new to be a little empty.
Weave barks a friendly bark at him. "We've been working together for a while. Best partner I could have."

right now all he is thinking about is the shopping list he's brought up on his phone, or that is what he was thinking about before Crumble practically leaps off his shoulder and makes a bee-line for Aglaea's shop. ]
Hey! Crumble!
[ with a sigh he pockets his phone and follows after the pokemon, barely registering the sign or the flash of golden thread as he does. it's only once he catches up his wayward Applin that he actually takes notice of the store, the floating garmentmakers, and the golden threads glimmering in the air.
familiarity hits him in the chest stealing the air from his lungs, not unlike the way it had upon encountering Phainon. it takes him a moment to remember how to breathe, to properly regard his surroundings, before his gaze falls on the woman. ]
Aglaea.

She moves over, offering a hand to the small Pokemon, standing straight again once it had hopped onto her hand.]
An adorable Applin. Where's your trainer?
[She pauses when she hears her name.
Yes, that's me. How may I help you?

The blue-haired girl's curiosity obviously gets the better of her, of course, and she trots along into the shop to see what kind of person might be running it. She gets distracted, at first, by the dress forms floating in air over the ground, then by the canine creature standing close beside-- oh, that's right! The proprietress of this establishment! She should probably have greeted this lovely lady first, shouldn't she?
"Good afternoon! Sorry for, um, just barging in and not saying hello... I was just so curious about your displays here. Did you make all these?" Indicating, of course, the outfits presumably on the garmentmakers and not the figures themselves. (Is that a silly question? That's a silly question.) "They're really pretty."
no subject
"How can I help you today?"
no subject
"Would you mind... telling me about your little friends? I don't think I've seen anything like them before."
no subject
She looks at Weft and Weave. How much should she say. She couldn't tell if Cyrene knew anything about Pokemon, or the spiritual realms around the area.
"This is Weft and Weave. Weave has been my assistance animal for a few years. He's very calm. And, you can pet him if you want." She chuckles. Furfrou's tended to attract people who might want to pet them.
"Weft here has also been trained to assist me in some of my clothing work." She didn't know if Cyrene saw the Leavanny, or just a large leaf bug.
no subject
"They're both really cute! They kind of reminded me of some little ones that my best friend looks after, but yours are so much more... mature? Every time I go by his shop, I swear, I just get mobbed immediately on all sides by adorable little friends." She lets out a happy little sigh. "There's this one little kitten who likes to play with my phone, so she can look at herself using the camera? She'll spend ages just polishing this little gold coin on her forehead. I guess that's normal for her, though." What had Mydei said she was called...? Meow... something.
no subject
"Was it a Meowth, by chance?" This woman knew of Pokemon, then. Some people saw them as normal animals, not with the specific details the Pokemon had.
"I know this is a strange question, but what does Weft look like to you?"
no subject
At the question, she looks a little closer at the other animal. "It's... a big two-legged bug? But they're wearing a cute little dress made of leaves. They must be pretty smart, though, if they can help you put up your sign like that...!"
She doesn't think it strange at all. She's rather unbothered by things being so out-of-the-ordinary--at least as far as cute critters are concerned.

Weft chirps a little as Aglaea gives her a scratch on the head.
"And Weave here isn't your typical poodle. He's a Furfrou." Maybe she shouldn't be giving so much away so soon, but this wasn't top secret now, was it?

Her fairies are... a little different, perhaps, than the ones that might be native to Kaisou. Her fairies are a long way away, left behind in another life entirely. But the way she lights up on this supposed connection... it's excitement, in a way she's rarely felt since moving here.
"Your Pokemon are lovely! And all of those little ones at the cafe... I'll have to do my best to learn as much as I can about them, then."
