September Event Log

September Event Log
Dominant Element: Wind
Waning Element: Earth
Full Moon: September 6th - 8th: LUNAR ECLIPSE
※
The temperature of September are mild, with cool days and chilly nights. The days are a mix of sun and rain, but nothing too drastic. The most notable part of the weather is the wind. Nearly every day, there are strong gusts of wind that blow through the city. If you have anything that could be blown away in the wind, make sure to keep a good hold of it, or you'll be chasing it down the street.
Lunar EclipseBy now, the monsters in the city have long adapted to the full moon effect they have to deal with every month. Three days of the month, and their monster sides become much harder to repress. For newer monsters, this will easily result in a full transformation. And for those who actively try to resist their monster side... it can get pretty dangerous quickly.
But this month will come a rare total lunar eclipse that happens over the city. When this happens? The effect of the full moon will increase massively in intensity. Transformations, even for seasoned monsters, will be extremely difficult to avoid- and it'll be even more difficult to resist any of your more monsterous instincts. Your best hope for retaining any semblance of your human mind is to just go along with the change, no matter how counterintuitive it may feel. Indulge in some late night hunts, pull some fae pranks, spend time with your mate, or just get the zoomies out.
However for those who are feeling like they need to fight something during the night, there'll be plenty to fight outside the barrier. The various monsters that now call Kami State park home are also in a restless and berserk state. Whether it be the dragons, the furyhorns, the pokemon- or anything else lurking out there- they're all looking for a fight to get through this full moon, and this might be a good chance to unleash some claws.
Lost to the MusesIt'll happen with little fanfare. One morning in early September, characters with a creative streak will be struck with inspiration. Inspiration stronger and clearer than any inspiration strikes they've had before. Artists will paint or draw better than they have before, Musicians will think up a song destined to make the charts, cooks will develop new recipes, writers might actually write something-- the rush of inspiration and creative is truly miraculous.
However, there's a danger to this swell of miraculous inspiration. As characters indulge in this inspiration, they will find themselves forgetting other things. At first it'll be mild things, such as forgetting to eat dinner or the other tasks you had to do for the day. Things that are normal to forget when you're in the midst of the creative process, right? However if you keep going, the memory loss will grow more severe. You'll forget details about your life, or the names and faces of the people you know. And in truly worst case scenarios, the ones that truly can't pull themselves away, will find that they can't remember anything but the creative work they're working on. Just how much of yourself are you willing to give up in pursuit of creation?
A New JobOn the morning of September 4th, Zodiac will send out an alert message.
ALERT: SPIRIT REALM GATE DETECTED IN UNIVERSITY DISTRICT.
Element Classification: Wind
Danger Level: Low
Designation: Great Library of Alexandria
Zodiac has detected a spirit realm gate appearing in the University district, and confirmed it to be the Great Library of Alexandria. We have also has received a mission request from the muses. Please come to our offices for more information.
You will find the Zodiac offices full of their usual hustle and bustle. Some staff members have started to add Halloween decorations to the place - though it's clear some have been replaces with Generic Fall Themed decorations. It looks like there might have been the usual interoffice conflict over acceptable times to decorate again.
Professor Barbie greets you as she always does, absolutely aglow with excitement. She tells you the Library of Alexandria has made a comeback! It's traveled to Kaisou twice before, of course, but Barbie hadn't come into this world then to see it. She's absolutely thrilled about all the knowledge she will be able to read up on - and Ken is excited to see some tacky 80's fashion shows!
She tells you that the library is run by the Muses, yes those muses, and they have asked for the city's help. One of the many areas of the library has a fighting simulator. It allows patrons to fight spectral foes - anyone from history or legend. Normally, it's a training room like no other, giving people the chance to brag they really did defeat Hercules and the like. Unfortunately, this time, the room has been possessed by a malicious spirit, that somehow got released within the library. Where once you could not be harmed in the simulator, now you very much can be. The muses need help in defeating this spirit so that the fighting simulator can go back to its normal, nonfatal functions.
To find the gate, one simply has to head out to Kaisou University's main campus. Atop the highest part of the tree that the University now sits, the spot that'd seem fitting for a god to have their shrine, there's a new building front that seems to have appeared. White columns and stone stairs are hardly unusual among a college campus, so it might be easy to overlook, except that the entryway is glowing with a bright energy. No doubt about it, this is the gate.
The Great Library of AlexandriaStepping through the gate, characters will find themselves in a grand marble hall that would put most to shame. Around the hall are statues of the nine muses, posing in different fashions with objects associated with each one. There are signs with the rules of the library. Even though it's written in Ancient Greek, you find yourself able to read what it says like it was perfect English:
I. Take nothing out of the Great Library, leave it all as you found it.
II. Damage nothing in these halls.
III. To obtain knowledge, you must share knowledge.
In the center of the hall is a pedestal that stands four feet tall. It is here that you place the knowledge that you've brought to share. Books, movies, comics, art pieces, fact sheets, personal notes - anything that could technically be considered either knowledge or art are accepted. Once you place your item on the pedestal, it will disappear and a bracelet made of olive tree wood will appear around their wrist. This is their proof that they are allowed entrance into the rest of the library. Anyone who tries to go into the halls without donating a piece of knowledge will find the entryways into the other wings magically blocked.
Once the admission fee has been paid, it's off to explore the rest of the library! There are several wings to explore, each of them chock full of knowledge. A person could easily spend a lifetime in a single wing and not see everything there is to offer. Even though it offers works written and created in countless languages, you'll find yourself able to understand all of them as if they were written in your native language. That said, any cameras will not work while within the hall, so if you want to remember the things you read- you'll have to take notes. Any character with fire magic will find their fire powers do not work while in this realm either.
The wings are as followed:
The Literature WingThis wing is devoted entirely to any work of literature that's ever been written. Novels, poems, short stories, comics, fables - anything that counts as a story would be found within this wing. There's even a section devoted to fanfictions throughout the ages, if that's what you're really about. There are braille and audiobooks with headphones, for those who get their reading through that way. Throughout the wing, there are comfortable chairs and window seats to sit in. The wing is managed by a legion of cats, who are clever enough to understand human language. They will carry books to and from their shelves, bring book recommendations, bring snacks and drinks as refreshments on a little push cart, or just curl up on your lap as you read.
The Knowledge WingNext to the Literature Wing, the Knowledge wing contains any non-fiction texts or documents that have ever been written. Any topic of non-fiction is covered here: history, science, mathematics, cookbooks - the list goes on. Interestingly, there are more than just books about this Earth found in these halls. It's possible to find textbooks detailing events or information about other worlds as well - so long as it covers events already taken place (meaning before any OU's canon point). Unlike the literature wing, the seating are set up more as study tables and chairs, but are still comfortable enough to sit in for hours on end. This wing is managed by a bunch of owls, who will fly up and down the aisles with books in their talons.
The Music WingA wing designed to have perfect acoustics, no matter where you go within the hall. Here, you can find every music piece ever composed, as well as any type of instrument ever created. There's plenty of practice rooms for any size group, all of which are soundproofed. In the back of the wing, there is a concert hall where you can either perform your own shows, or watch astral recordings of any concert that's ever taken place. Want to see Beethoven perform his famous 9th symphony? You can do that! All the musicians past will appear as ghostly apparitions as they perform. Songbirds are the maintainer of these halls, who will fly by on errands or maybe even stop by to sing along with your performances.
The Theatre WingNext to the music wing, there is the theater wing. This area has play stages and movie theaters all set up. You can either watch any movie or show in existence (no worries about streaming rights here!), or rewatch any theater performance that's happened in history in the form of ghostly visages. Find out how Hamlet was performed when Shakespeare was still alive (in fact Shakespeare's visage himself might look... familiar), or see the first Greek tragedy. Mice and rats are the maintainers of this wing, they will help out pick out movies and also run a concession stand with any movie snacks you'd like to consume during the show.
While there is normally a working fighting simulator in this ring... well, we'll get to that in a moment.
The Planetarium WingThe planetarium is the wing devoted to astronomy and the heavens. While there's plenty of shelves of books here with information about space, the main event in this hall is a planetarium. A massive dome that can be set to display the night sky as it appeared at any time or day- and not just on Earth either. You can find out what the sky looks like on any number of worlds. All of them feel hyper-realistic, like you're looking at the real night sky. Bats help run this part of the library, the dark starry skies doing nothing to hinder their assistance with visitors.
Should anyone use this room to investigate the moon, they will find that the moon itself? Is still a perfectly normal moon. No, really. It's normal. However much like it affects the tide, the moon will also affect the magical energies of Spirit Veins. And the higher level of concentration of magical energy, the larger the effect. So the reason the full moon is affecting more monsters? Is less about the moon and more the increasing spirit energy that is ever growing in Kaisou.
The Museum WingThe museum wing covers all artifacts that relate to knowledge, but wouldn't quite fit in the other wings. Dinosaur fossils, vases, paintings, tapestries, all of them are carefully displayed with information about each item. These items have been collected across different worlds and throughout history, with all of them carefully preserved. One room of the museum is devoted to divine donations - donations given by deities when they came once came to visit, and clearly the shining gem of the museum. Items such as a Dharma Wheel, an apple from the Tree of Knowledge, an actual eye (thanks Odin), and other items relating to knowledge have all been carefully put on pedestals. While trying to steal from the other wings will have magic measures that simply prevent you from doing so, the consequences of trying to steal from this part of the library will lead to much more dire consequences. To reflect that, this wing is patrolled by crocodiles who will guide you to exhibits, but will also snap their jaws anytime they feel you're getting too close to an artifact.
The Mess HallWith so much to see in this library, it'd be a shame if hunger got in the way. Just head down into the basement, where an expansive dining hall and kitchen await you. The goats that run this part of the library will be happy to cook you up any kind of meal that has ever existed. Or, if you're the type to want to cook for yourself, you'll have free access to the kitchen, which is full of any ingredients you could possibly want. The walls are lined with cooking tools and cookbooks to help you along, as well. Cooking is a form of art, after all.
The Records WingThe final wing contains records of every person who has ever lived and died. Each person's life is recorded in a hardcover book that is decorated in ways to reflect the person. The length of a book will depend on how long the person has lived, and it will cover events that happened throughout their lives. While you can access records of people that live in different worlds, you can only access records of people who have died (the permanent kind). Not only that, but the keepers of this wing (ghostly apparitions of scholars) will only allow you access to the records of people that are part of your family or somehow related to you.
Hauntingly, AU characters will be able to find books of their past selves among these shelves, as well as the records of their past selves relatives. It will detail their lives in their previous worlds, the events described lining up with memories you've experienced. The causes of death will vary. Some will go on to live long lives before dying of old age, while others will be killed abruptly by something either within or out of their control. Either way, it's probably rather unsettling to read about how your life once came to an end.
[OOC Note: Please note, doing anything that would damage or destroy the life recording books will cause permanent long lasting consequences for your character, as their memories will be wiped from the world. Please consult the mods if you wish to go this route.]
Gladiator MatchHowever, you're not only here to do research and reading- as there's been a task set out to do. Within the theater, there is a room that is dedicated to running a fight simulator that'll allow one to relive battles with famous past warriors and fiends- as combat is it's own form of art and knowledge. Normally this room is perfectly safe, with the fight simulator causing no actual risk to the people using it. However... something has gone awry.
Should you ask the Muses, they will explain with great irritation, that there is an section of the library that is forbidden to the public due to it containing dangerous relics, including a set of Sealed books entrusted to them that contained malicious demons and spirits. Unfortunately, an earlier visitor managed to slip into one of the forbidden sections of the library and tampered with one of the Sealed books - causing the malicious spirit that'd been trapped within its pages to get freed.
That spirit? Was now possessing the fight simulator. Not only is the room stuck in the appearance of a Roman Coliseum, but instead of harmless battle recreations? The battles were now fully capable of causing injury and even death. Characters will not get an option of which opponent they will face when they enter the ring- the malevolent spirit will use enemies from memory past against you- such as old foes from both your past lives, canon worlds, or even ones you've faced in Kaisou.
Unfortunately the only way to defeat this malevolent spirit? Is through combat. Defeat enough foes that it throws at you, and eventually the spirit who has been fueled by all the battles- will finally appear in its true form: a massive horned skeleton with wings, four arms and just as many blades. The demon skeleton, known as Sword Dancer, will be incredibly strong in both its swordsmen ship and it's elemental magic of many elements. The best way to beat him is to fight together as a team and overpowering him in sheer force of strength.
When the battle is over, the Sword Dancer will fade and disappear, returning the fight simulator back to its original form. There's a lot of unanswered questions about how this incident occurred, but... at least it's mission accomplished.
[OOC: Players are welcome to NPC their own fights! Feel free to pull out any foes from your character's canons OR past foes from previous kaisou plots.]
With the fight simulator returned to its former state, the Muses will be appreciative of your help. They won't really offer anything in reward (they did let you have free access to their library)- but they will hear you out if you approach them about anyone whose been heavily stricken by their inspiration effect. While they don't personally feel it's a big deal, they will be willing to ease the effects of it so the person can return to actually being able to function.
Otherwise, the rest of the month will pass peacefully. Characters will be allowed to access the library for the rest of the month, using what chance they have to access the great knowledge within.
The dominant element this month is Wind! Anyone with an affinity to the wind element will find themselves boosted throughout the month. This could mean a boost to their power, having more energy, feeling more inspired with creativity, having better luck on different attempts -- the boost can manifest in all sorts of different ways. By contrast, anyone with an affinity for Earth will be experiencing the opposite. Perhaps their powers will be weaker, they have less energy, they're having a creative block or general worse luck - again it can manifest in all sorts of way and players are free to play with this mechanic as they'd like.
The original OOC plotting post for this event can be found here.
Feel free to use the catch-alls if you want to make a quick top-level prompt, or to make your very own toplevel if you have a bunch of specific prompts you want to do!

This'll leave a mark! Dead Spike! [Sending his sword back into its base mode, he dragged it against the ground to create a line of shadow magic against the ground and from it emerged what looked like a serpent beast's head made solely of his element. It charged right into their opponent, ripping through the damage already done (16+5;21).
He saw that charge though and also remembered what Harumasa said about this fuck.]
I'm moving, I'm moving! [Moving quickly at that as once again he used the wind to jump into the air, then used a blast of pressurized air to launch himself backwards and landing behind one of the crystals.
He didn't even need to use Electro to perfectly dodge the blast from the explosion (11+5;16).]
Dramatic asshole!
no subject
[Which is true. He's not streaming.
Harumasa is ready for it when the laser finishes and the Ether crystals explode. It's like muscle memory for him as he perfectly dodges the explosion (Natural 20). Time seems to slow for a moment and he instinctively takes a clean shot at Nineveh for the trouble, straight to its core (8+4=12).
Unfortunately, while Agent Gulliver gets a clean shot in, it misses the core and only hits the body of the Ethereal and doesn't do any real damage.
On the other side, the young archer nocks another arrow and supercharges it with a more powerful current of electricity. His eyes almost seem to glow from the charge it holds. As if saying the mantra to himself in order to get the perfect shot:]
With a clear mind, arrows fly true!
[His mind is clear.
The arrow flies true, leaving a lightning storm in its wake as it nails Nineveh's core. Harumasa skids back from the force of the arrow, but he's quick to nock another one and regain his footing, just in case it's not over yet.]
no subject
[HE HATES PERFORMING TO AN AUDIENCE!!! He manages to dodge out of the way of the ether explosion (6+4=10), but it's far from his most graceful dodge. In fact, it leaves him wide open to have one of the ether bullets shooting from Nineveh fly out and manage to get past his shield and directly into his shoulder (Nat 1)
Most people would yell in pain at this. Instead, Jun yells in pure frustrated rage]
SHOT AGAIN?!? WHY IS IT ALWAYS--
[He hates getting shot. So much so that his eyes glow white with fury as he decides to help follow up his brother's lightning storm attack]
Ragna. Back up now.
[That is the only warning Jun will give before he draws a glyph in the air. Far above them, a whole rain of light arrows will come firing down onto on the ethereal, hitting it many times (10+4=14). As it does so, his shoulder will heal up from all the damage being wrought.
Don't shoot him. Don't do it Ninevah]
no subject
Don't have tell me twice.
[With another aerial dash away (14+5;19), Ragna moved well out of range of Jun's counter of light arrows. His sword was still drawn, but he didn't know how much if any fight this stupid thing had left in it.]
no subject
Harumasa waits for a moment before letting out a long breath before relaxing. For now. His arrow is still nocked, but he's holding it down in the relaxed position. Yet he can't help frowning.]
That's weird... that was way easier than it should've been for the real Nineveh. I know it's supposed to be a simulated version of it, but still... not to mention that's the first enemy we encounter, here?
[It feels suspicious. He doesn't like it.
Agent Gulliver trots over to regroup with Harumasa.]
Anyone get injured during that?
no subject
I'm fine, the last attack healed my injury.
[But as the comment of being easier...]
Hmm... Maybe it's trying throw the biggest monsters from our memories at us in hopes that'll be enough, without enough understanding what makes those threats. Though that might mean...
[The coliseum sky suddenly turns to a blood red twilight color and patterned lines that race across the sky. Jun will shift suddenly into a combat position again, his eyes narrowing.]
... As I suspected.
[THEME CHANGE]
[In front of then, a massive demon that's covered in clouds of miasma will manifest before them. ]
Twilight Apostle, incoming! Even if it's weaker too, this is the Greed that destroyed Tokyo, so be on your guard!
no subject
Ragna's memory of the largest foe he ever fought was hazy. He knew he fought it alongside his brother and...
no, "she" wasn't his sister... she was someone else, but... he cared about her as much as...]
Way to fucking tempt it! [As much as that sounded targeted towards Jun, it was moreso at his fucking terrible luck in situations like this. Shit, the way the sky looked was just about as bad as Takemikazuchi and this new bastard was almost as big.]
You know what this thing is?! [Said readying his sword again, Electro Vision beginning to glow at his hip.] Fuck it, not like it matters as long as we beat its ass!
[And he moved in to close the distance again, but not solely by running. He rushed a only a few feet forward, then with his right arm charged with shadow magic he propelled himself further with an element tinged punch.]
Hell's... [The hit landed, if lightly, but that wasn't the main attack What was came the follow up as he raised his arm in an uppercut and with it the shadows under his feet moved to strike at the Twilight Apostle (18+5;23).]
... Fang!!
no subject
[Right as he says that, the Twilight Apostle appears. Rather than look shocked, Harumasa instead goes into a head space he hasn't needed to go into since Aoko. Given this one seems to be from Jun's past life, he can only imagine just how strong it would've been in its prime. That also means he can't afford to do anything less than show the exact reason why Miyabi chose him to be a member of Section 6.
Before that, he does have to make a little quip at his brother for old times' sake.]
Context, please, you crazy carbuncle!
[Agent Gulliver tries to take a shot, but it misjudges slightly on where the body is exactly due to the miasma and the laser grazes the Greed's arm (4+5=9). Harumasa, however, knows that the only way he's going to get clean shots is if he uses his Sight more than ever. Apollo is now more present within his mind, paying attention to the fight and ready to help his mortal if it comes down to it. That might shorten Harumasa's already dwindling lifespan, but it'll only be their very last resort.
So he has to make sure he's flawless.
Where Ragna raises the shadows upwards against the creature, Harumasa shoots an arrow at the thing and brings his hand down sharply. A storm of lightning bolts rain down on the Twilight Apostle, culminating in a more powerful bolt of lightning (17+4=21). It's a dance of shadow and light that seems to rip apart the miasma obscuring its body.]
Looking good, Ragna!
[That's not meant to be a flirt, but he's also not going to deny it anyway.]
Hope you got a clear shot, Jun!
no subject
[They're in the middle of a fight here!! Jun is also getting into the zone, knowing this is not a foe he hold back on. So, a bright light will suddenly engulf him, as he activates his magical girl form. White wings will appear on his back as well, allowing him to move with flight.
Just in time for his brother to make that shot, clearing the miasma]
Perfect!
[He'll then lunge forward, flying at the monster. Aiming for leg that Haru exposed, he'll lunge at it, coating his sword in light energy as he does a fly-by swing, striking it in the leg in an explosion of light. (10+6=16). He'll then teleport out of the way of the swinging arm blade, reappearing nearby safely (6+6=12).
The monster will roar from the attack, sending out a surge of dark energy orbs towards them to cause damage.]
no subject
Fuck it, I'm not even gonna bother asking!
[He managed to jump high and dash in the air to avoid the dark energy attack (10+5;15). If bigger guns are being brought out though...]
Going into Overdrive! [A power once held within Ragna's lethal right arm, it now came from the source of his own dreams, his own ambition. The Electro Vision glowed brighter than ever, enveloping Ragna with that element to cause even more potent lightning damage between him and Harumasa.
Not only would his standard attacks hold powers of Shadow or Lightning, but with that overdrive declaration a burst of lightning damage surged straight into the monster's legs (17+5;22).]
no subject
Harumasa sees the balls of darkness coming at him. Instead of moving away, he uses them as his own stepping stones by teleporting through the shadows (12+2=14). Once he's reached the absolute height he can get, Harumasa gathers lightning magic into his arrow. In a trick taught to him by Jun, as he shoots this arrow a shower of lightning bolts peel off to form magic arrows in a barrage of electricity. Each of them hit the Twilight Apostle in various parts of its body, helping to further keep the miasma at bay (11+4=15).
On the ground, Agent Gulliver has retreated further away from the Greed. This time, thanks to Ragna and Harumasa's efforts, it gets a much cleaner shot.]
Ehn-na!
[It fires and another good hit nails the Twilight Apostle's legs (12+5=17).]
no subject
The Twilight Apostle's leg takes some damage from Ragna's attack, stepping back in pain and clearly showing signs of wear and tear. Its followed up by Haru's own version of the arrow shower attack, which manages to tear away at more of the misama- leaving the eerie white figure beneath exposed. Jun definitely notices that it was the move that he taught his brother, so he grins as he shouts praise]
Nicely done!
[Even if he likes to get huffy from time to time about Harumasa overshadowing his abilities- he really is proud of his brother.
And not to let them down, he'll take the opening to fly over near the midsection, and unleashing spinning attack, sending out a shockwave of light with his blade to damage the creature further- hoping to get it cut down. (15+6=21). It roars and takes a fair amount of damage- needing just another hit or two to before something starts breaking off.
But it's not quite enough yet, and the Twilight Apostle is not holding back. It holds out his arm, and for a moment - strong flash of light sucks out all the color in the room, leaving it inverted monochrome. Jun knows what that means, and yells to the other]
Take cover! This attack's blast zone is massive!
[That's about all he gets out before he jumps down to the ground. The monster lets out the attack, causing a huge shockwave of explosion that consumes half the battlefield. Jun is unable to teleport in time, so all he can do is crouch in a defensive position as his ARCUS's shield takes the blow- destroying the shield entirely (Nat 1)]
no subject
Ugh, not the time! Not with Jun warning about something huge coming along. Something strong enough that space itself seemed to falter.]
Shit!
[Ragna was in close range, but he was nothing if not a good improvisor. Rather than get away on his feet, once again he channeled the wind to fly high in the air, blast himself back with pressure again and use that power combined with his Vision's small teleport to escape the shockwave (13+5;18).
He saw Jun take what seemed like the full force of that attack and briefly felt panic creep up his spine, but he must've had some kind of shield. Either way it was enough for a subtle sigh of relief to slip from Ragna. Sure, the guy could handle himself and healed as fast as Ragna but. Oh, whatever.
A battle shout punctuated Ragna's next move, taking to mid-air again to descend upon the Twilight Apostle with wide kick enforced by lightning and another follow up with his shadow claws (15+5;20) and a taunt to keep the ranged brothers free to fire away.]
Over here, ugly-ass!
no subject
Thanks, bro!
[He's already falling when the world looks like it's been inverted in Photoshop. In fact, he seems to be falling faster as it sucks in the surrounding elemental energy. It's almost like it's creating a black hole or vacuum as it tries to rip at Harumasa's body. There's no cover for Harumasa to get to from above. The ground has nothing to offer him to duck behind, either. It's all a flat arena. There doesn't look to be any escape for Harumasa from this attack.
Yet his expression is one of grim determination regardless.
As the explosion finally goes off, Harumasa seems to completely disappear from sight. For one, heart-stopping moment, it seems like the young archer might not have survived the blast (10).]
Ehn-na-na!!! (Asaba!!!)
[Then twin blades appear from the creature's very own shadow to cut into the Twilight Apostle's "ankle," before suddenly having electricity be channeled into the wound (13). Harumasa appears to have some superficial wounds, but unbeknownst to him those wounds are quickly beginning to close up like they've never been there.
The reappearance of the Executive Officer rallies Agent Gulliver into action. It follows up the attack by shooting at the same wound in a direct hit (6+5=11). Harumasa jumps back to put a little distance between himself and the Greed.]
CW: Body part loss (NPC)
Ragna and Haru's attacks hit hard. On top of the other injuries to it's legs, it finally causes the monster to roar in pain before it falls to the ground. The bottom part of it's body falls away, and it would seem like it's over, and yet--]
Watch out! It's still a threat!
[The Greed starts moving just as fast despite it missing half of it's body. It'll will now do a clean sweep of the ground with it's scythe like appendages. Jun will manage to get high enough just in time to avoid it (5+6=11). He'll then take the opening to fire a volley of six light arrows- slamming into the face of the beast (9+6=15)]
no subject
He only just managed to jump over the low ground sweep because he was distracted, and it got a little too close to nicking the soles of his shoes for comfort (5+5;10).]
Are you serious right now?!
[Focus, damn you. He snapped back into said focus very quickly, changing his sword to its scythe form once more and slicing into the rest of the enemy at medium range due to its length (19+5;24). He was only Electro-charged for a few more moments, but he'd make this last hit of it count before he could go into overdrive again.]
I'll show you a real scythe!
no subject
I'm fine! Don't present a target!
[As the scythe-like appendages sweep across the field, Harumasa elegantly dodges out of the way with his cheetah-like speed (10+4=14). At the same time, he reattaches the blades to create the bow again. He's about to fire an arrow when he abruptly gets a vision that shows him a possible death. If he takes the shot now, he'll be left wide open to being attacked by the scythes and that may result in him being unable to dodge in time.
So, Harumasa dashes off to the side while Agent Gulliver takes its shot. It fires into the main body (7+5=12), which causes the scythe to swipe where the young archer had been only mere milliseconds ago. Harumasa then takes his own shot, charging it with enough electricity that it forms another six arrows made of lightning that directly hits the Twilight Apostle (14+4=18).]
no subject
The Twilight Apostle will follow this attack up by holding out its arms and summoning three Elemental greed of different elements (Ice, Wind, and Earth). ]
Careful! Those are elemental-type Greed! They can affect the terrain!
[Sure enough? The ice one will be ready to set out its own attack- sending out ice and freezing the ground as it moves (16). Jun is in the air, so he'll focus on flying down and attacking the Twilight apostle's face with another slash of his blade. (6+8=14)]
no subject
Not as much as he hated there being goddamn adds though!!]
Oh come on, that's bullshit!
[Sure it was three on one but THESE GUYS WERE HUGE. What a pain, but nothing for it but to take them out too. With an ice attack being used, Ragna had the flash of a memory, the biting cold of Mucro Aglesco: Yukianesa. But in this life he knew what to expect from that. And lived in Northern Sweden, so immediately he began to float just above ground.]
Seen that trick before! [Solely because the ice reinforcement pissed him off most, Ragna immediately started with that one, aiming for the core by using its own shadow. He raised his arm, commanding the shadows to turn into a beast's maw and tear into it (8+5;13).]

If you know, then do it!
[At least he's bantering like normal, so he's definitely fine. That being said, as the floor begins to turn to ice, Harumasa summons his crow wings for the first time publicly. He shoots up into the sky as he takes wing, and fortunately he's behind the Twilight Apostle at this time to not be in danger of the scythes. While he does so, Agent Gulliver attempts to take a shot at the fiend, but once again grazes it as the miasma cloaks its body too well (4+5=9).
Seeing Jun and Agent Gulliver go after the Apostle and Ragna going after the ice elemental, Harumasa decides to handle the earth elemental. It'll be naturally weak to his abilities, so he's hoping to take care of it quickly before moving onto the wind elemental.
Electricity crackles along his wings, highlighting the iridescence in his black feathers. With a strong flap of his wings, a barrage of razor sharp feathers charged with lightning rain down upon the earth elemental with a little more than half nailing its body directly (9+4=13). That's absolutely a new trick that Harumasa hasn't done before.]

Jun can see that the battle is heating up, so he'll fly back for a moment so he can concentration on a spell in his ARCUS. With a flash of blue light, he casts Shining and a golden eye will appear above each of the party members- granting them better eyesight and agility - giving them an advantage.
The Twilight apostle meanwhile will spot Ragna floating just above the ground, and swing out its scythe arm along the ground. Jun, high in the already, is nowhere near the attack (17+6=23). Meanwhile while the Elementals take damage- they are fully intending on attacking back. The Earth elemental, which has been badly damaged by the onslaught of lightning feathers, shoots a charged up beam of earth energy in the air aiming at Haru in retaliation.
Meanwhile, the ice element? reels back from the direct hit from, but it's still up- shooting out a volley of icicles in the direction of its attacker in a counterattack]

Before finishing that comment, though, Ragna saw those icicles coming a mile away and used his short teleport to evade them easily (13+5;19). Honestly it was just a matter of coincidence that he managed to also dodge the big boss' sweep (adv 18+5;23).]
... I'm gonna kick your ass! [And you know, he has to get the last word in. He won't, but he'll still try dammit. The Elemental couldn't be grappled like Ragna would like, but it didn't matter if he just jabbed his sword dead center to break that ice down (11+5).]
This'll sting worse! [JIN DID IT BETTER WHILE BEING A YANDERE ABOUT IT, LOSER.]

Anyway, as the beam of earth energy is sent his way, the young archer gracefully glides out of the way with the help of his wind magic (15+4=19). Golden eyes then lock onto the elemental's major weak spot, and a vision comes to him of the best possible position to destroy this thing. Harumasa nocks an arrow and then in rapid fire succession lands one arrow into the chink, then a second arrow into that first one to split it and drive the head in further. And then a third one splits the second down the middle to drive it even further within. He then follows it up with a bolt of lightning that immediately is attracted to the makeshift lightning rod he has created with his arrows (natural 20).
Agent Gulliver, meanwhile, has accidentally slid across the ice, but has made the most of it. The Bangboo creates a door in front of it and instead of knocking like normal, it just breaks it down by jumping from the ice, through the door, and nailing the Twilight Apostle with a pointblank shot (Natural 20).]

Which Jun will finish off himself, letting go of his sword to hover next to him before he summons his bow of light and fires a large light arrow straight into the core that Ragna just exposed (13+6=19), making it explode in similar fashion]
Thanks Ragna!
[He says, stealing Ragna's kill. Meanwhile the Twilight apostle shoots out several large beams in front of him - burning anyone that'd be in it's path. Jun will quickly fly back, managing to evade it (8+6=14)]

[HOW DARE YOU KILL STEAL! THAT'S JUST RUDE. Sure all that mattered was the second elemental was down, but it's the principle of the matter! Considering how huge those beams are, Ragna was able to dodge clear out of the way while still hovering (19+5;24).]
I'm getting real sick of this... Let's take this last one down!
[Then they could focus on Tall, Dark and JRPG over there. For a man who worked alone most of his life and still preferred that route, he was coordinating well with the others. Maybe affection was at play? Maybe luck? Who knows, but whatever was on Ragna's mind was definitely far away now.
Out came the Shadow claws again to tear this wind element bitch a new one. If he could use that sick fucking rocket Varian made with that explosive power he had this would be easy but noooOOoOoo. Whatever, he'll make do with what he had even if it was just his hands to rip into the elemental (8+5;13). A little more time and his Vision will have enough juice for a real shock again.]
