July Event Log

JULY EVENT
Dominant Element: Water
Waning Element: Fire
Full Moon: July 9th - July 11th
※
As July rolls in, the Spirit Vein's colours shift to hues of blue as the water element takes dominance. And with it, comes the most miserable month of the summer. On sunny days, it'll be hot and extremely humid, with the air feeling like a swamp. However these hot days are interrupted with heavy storms that will let loose at least a couple times a week. Take care not to get caught in a downpour, and make sure you don't have anything outside that could be blown away by straight line winds.

ALERT: NO SPIRIT REALM ANOMALY DETECTED
Element Classification: Water
Danger Level: None! :)
Designation: N/A
Zodiac has not detected any Spirit Gate this month. Have a wonderful month's break! Please visit the Zodiac offices for more information, but there's nothing to worry about!
Well, that's a weird announcement. Should you decide to drop by the Zodiac offices, staff look a mixture of confused, unsure or completely relaxed. Professor Barbie greets you and tells you that for once, Zodiac hasn't picked up on any anomalies or temporary spirit gates. While some staff members believe this is a terrible sign and are starting to fret what it could mean, most of them are honestly glad for the chance to have a break for once. They assure you that they'll keep an eye on things and send out an alert if anything crops up- go enjoy July! Check out the convention!
So off you go to enjoy the month, and everything seems to be normal. That is until you're in a group- perhaps you're at home, perhaps your place of work. No matter where you are, you and the rest of your group start to hear the steady beat of drums. Not everyone reacts to it- not even within your group. It seems only a select number of you can hear them, but hear them you do. They beat a steady rhythm, one that gets quicker and louder if you choose to move in the direction of the sound. Eventually, you find a wooden box with the name Jumanji carved on the front, along with some jungle scenes.
Opening it up, you will find a wooden board game, with board spaces spiralling around the board, all congregating into a glass orb in the centre. Inside a small box in the games lid, you will find delicately carved jungle animals made of ivory. Once picked up, they will immediately fly off your hands to starting positions on the board. There's also a pair of ivory dice - just begging to be rolled. On the inside covers of the board, the game proclaims:
A game for those who seek to find
A way to leave their world behind
Roll your dice to move your token, doubles get another turn
The first player to reach the end wins
The OTHER side of the inside cover holds a dire warning:
Do not begin unless you intend to finish
The exciting consequences of the game vanish
A player has reached Jumanji and called out it's name
Despite this, if you heard the drums, you do feel a strange compulsion to play. Even if you're not the sort of person who would normally play what looks like a genuinely sketchy game, you feel it couldn't possibly hurt. It's just a board game after all, what harm could there be in rolling the dice?

And so roll the dice you do. There are seven games just like this, happening all around the city. And once that first dice is rolled? You have been caught in the game's trap. A barrier will form around the area you're in, keeping you, your fellow players, and any unlucky soul who happened to be in the space when the barrier went up tapped in that area. No one can get in, no one can get out.
If you're thinking at this point that perhaps you shouldn't have rolled the dice, it's far, far too late. Your little ivory token moves forward on the board of it's own free will, there's no pulling it off, no stopping it. The game has begun and it's clear that it does not intend to stop. Once the token has moved the requisite number of dice rolls, the orb in the centre swirls a little rhyme for you to read. Unfortunately, that's not all it does. Immediately, whatever you rolled is transported right into your area, and you will need to deal with it. The vast majority of what you roll will be actively out to prevent you from finishing the game- it's almost as if the game is purposefully making it as difficult as possible to complete, now its magic is being wrought on the world.
The designated game areas in the city are:
RANDOM PLAY
MEROPIDE: RANDOMISER WING
PERSEPHONE'S COTTAGE
CYGNUS ACADEMY
THE MORRIGAN
RIKU'S APPARTMENT
OOCly, please see your area-specific sheet found on each of your toplevels. This will allow you to see the dangers you have each to deal with as the game progresses, and how you want to play the game as a group. Please be sure to discuss with your game-mates about this so you're agreed on how you want to play!

You can fight and avoid the dangers that the game spews out as best you can- but for the most part they remain exactly where they are. The more you roll, the more comes out of the game, dangers piling on top of one another to distract you and keep you from finishing. But finish you must- the game was very clear that the only way to get rid of everything that it releases into the world is to finish it. You start to realise the barriers that have been put up are the game's doing too. If you ever want to be free of the barriers and all the nonsense coming out of the game, you are going to have to play to the bitter end.
If you're lucky enough to have bystanders caught in your area with you, they will be able to help you battle through what the game brings on you. None of them can play for you. Once the game has chosen its players, they are the only ones who can complete the game- and they must do so in the correct order. What is a board game without rules, after all? And so you must work together, protecting yourselves, each other, and trying to keep the game itself out of harm's way. It will be a difficult task, one that only increases as the game moves on and more comes out of it. You will need to function as a team in order to survive this particular board game night.

Perhaps you got it into your head that you'd cheat to try and finish the game. All it would take is making sure you drop the dice so they land a certain way, right? Or trying to tilt the game board at just the right moment to make sure your dice turn at the last second to a more favourable number. It would end the game quickly and you can all be free of it, right? And given how much danger the game is throwing at you, it's only fair that you can play dirty too, right?
Unfortunately, Jumanji very much does not approve of cheating. Any attempts to cheat in the game will result in an angry message appearing in the orb:
And then you feel your whole body being pulled. If you look down, you can see your body being pulled like taffy, even if it doesn't hurt, it's frightening to look at. It's even more frightening once you realise where you're being pulled to. Your whole self is being trapped into the orb in the centre of the game. No matter how much you fight it, no matter how others might try to pull you back, the game is determined to see you punished for your transgression.
When the game stops pulling you will find yourself in a massive jungle. Unlike the game, which only pulls dangers into the world based on dice rolls, this is where everything comes from. As such, there are countless dangers you will have to face. You will get almost no rest in this area, as almost everything is actively out to kill you. Nothing you do will get you out of the jungle- it seems to stretch on forever. All you can do is try to keep yourself (and anyone who was trapped with you) until someone managers to finish their game. Only then will you find yourself back in the area you were originally dragged away from.
When a player finally gets their token to the center orb, the whole thing glows a bright green. The word JUMANJI appears in middle of it. Speak the word out loud as the instructions told you, and a sudden whirlwind will pick up around you. Everything that was brought out of the game gets sucked into this whirlwind (causing extra damage as they slam into the area, of course), everything turning faster and faster, before being sucked into the orb. When the last danger vanishes away, all the damage that was caused by the game magically vanishes in the blink of an eye. Any injuries the game inflicted are gone. It's like it never happened at all. The barrier around you drops, and you're finally free. Of course, you now have seven extremely cursed board games to deal with, but at least for now, the ordeal is over.
OOC plotting post can be found here.
To the Workshop!
Jun and Harumasa are being tended to, they're being taken away from the immediate danger, stabilized. He can hear them both, even though he's not turning to look their way, is letting the worried crowd around them as the others... turn to the board game. As Maxima rolls the dice and reads a rhyme and--
He doesn't need to see more than that head shoving through the door, doesn't need to hear more than that unholy screech that seems to rattle his bones. Adrenaline flares and rushes through his system and all he needs is the guiding command -- Get the wounded to the next room, now! -- to snap into action.
His shield is gone, his left hand bare. It's a new sensation, has James realizing more than ever just where the gaps in his training are. He knows he should be able to fight the monster pushing through the door, knows he's more than capable of helping, but without a weapon? Well, he's just going to have to think even more about how his mom used to fight after all of this is done. But for now?
For now, he can at least focus on moving.
And move he shall, keeping himself low and moving fast, putting focus into every step, reducing wasted movement and energy as he vaults himself over one of the couches to come to a skidding stop in front of a closed door. He tries the doorknob, turning and jiggling it but-- locked. Damn it, it's locked.
Focus.
James breathes in, calming his racing heart focusing his mind (10). They have two people down for the count-- injured civilians, necessary to protect with his life, if it comes to it. He can rationalize that, can fold that into his training.
Focus.
They have a monster at the open doorway, a locked door in front of him. They could try to pick the lock, could spend time doing that, time that would get that strange bird in the room with them, time that might mean the difference between living and dying.
Focus.
The door is wood. It's wood, and James knows he's more than capable of breaking it down. Knows the increased strength he's felt since arriving here was made for situations just like this. There's a barrier between them and even a few more minutes of safety and James knows a way to remove it.]
This way!
[He yells over the chaos, taking a step back and raising his fist, breathing in deep and focusing his core, imagining that he's gearing up to throw his shield as hard as he can but balling his fist instead, throwing it forward and feeling the pain glance through his bare knuckles as he punches the wood once, twice-- hearing it crack and splinter -- before a third punch breaks through (15). From there, he shifts to kicking at the broken panels to get that doorway as clear as it could possibly be before moving in to the newly opened room. He has to make sure the way ahead is at least marginally safer than what they're escaping, after all.]
no subject
Okay, that'll work.
[He helps them get in, really hoping they haven't got anything useless. Thankfully, luck was finally on their side as they step into a workshop. For the first time in the better part of a week, Varian feels a surge of hope in his chest. ]
This... this I can use. [He moves with Ghilley to get Jun and his stretcher down and out of the way of the door, peering to make sure everyone else who's coming follows in with them. ]
Everyone... everyone okay? [He glances again at the workstation. ] I have a lot of tools. If... if anyone has any materials I can use, I can fashion Jun a better stretcher. Maybe even get a weapon out of it if we have enough.
no subject
For right now, he'll gesture with his head towards James in what thanks he could give.]
Nice thinking, you got us out of a real bind. [Credit where credit was due. There was still a lot of tension, a lot of grit in his tone but it was no less appreciated. The level of teamwork.
Especially with Varian on duty with this random workshop. He'd figure out something to create so this was easier to manage. Naturally, Lighter set Harumasa down in the most comfortable spot he could while also being as close as possible to Jun.]
You still with us, boss? Take it easy and breathe slow.
no subject
At least his brother is here, Jun's turning his head to try to get a good look at him when he catches Lighter's question]
... Which one of us is boss again?
[Look Ace calls him that too, so he needs the clarification. But he hears Varian looking for surprise. He knows they didn't have much- it's like they expected game night to go THIS badly. But hmm...]
I could try to summon my spatial storage space, pretty sure there's some stuff you could use. I should have enough energy to manage without passing out, based on my magic levels.
no subject
The young archer grunts slightly in pain as he's set down. However, he doesn't complain. He just rests his back heavily against whatever will give him stable support.]
He means me.
[Harumasa's mouth still has dried blood, but the blood has stopped trickling from it for now. Breathing is an issue given the slow, deep breaths he continues to consciously take. However, his golden eyes remain alert and aware, so he seems to be okay.]
Still here. Still hurts to breathe, but... still breathing. [He reaches a free hand out for Jun to take to give his little brother some comfort of his status as alive, even if he looks like death warmed over. With his other hand, Harumasa gently pats Lighter's shoulder, not unlike a cat wanting to be reassuring yet too weak to put any amount of force into the gesture.] Counting on you to protect us... and come back alive, thank you.
[Talking is starting to drain his energy, but Harumasa wants to say one last thing before Lighter goes back out to fight the good fight.]
S'too dark without you around.

He sees the frantic worry between Jun and Varian, listens to the bickering he can tell comes from a place of love. Like what he has with his siblings back home, only... more. He hears the sincerity between Lighter and Harumasa, can feel the warmth of it trickling into his chest almost uncomfortably, leading him to start moving around the room, taking in the scraps, screws, and springs seemingly left behind by whoever - or whatever - used to spend time tinkering here.
Taking in the angles, mapping out the geometry and letting his mind scroll through formulas of velocity and strength to feel confident of his control of his shield even in a cramped space like this and--
He sucks in a breath, shifts to move towards the broken in door, shaking out his right hand to relieve a bit of the sting of his bruised and bloodied knuckles, knowing his regeneration will take care of such superficial wounds given enough time. But he is aiming to meet Lighter at the door, to glance at the wounded left behind, at the panicked inventor he knows is about to throw himself full throttle into whatever he can make of things in here (it reminds him of Tony, of Pym. Of the way his dad and little brother would get so carried away with creating, sometimes.)]
I'll hold the door. [A reassurance to Lighter, a determined promise sparking in his eyes before he turns to call over his shoulder, raising his voice a little to make sure Varian can hear him.] If there's any sturdy piece of metal in there, I can make it work as a shield. Doesn't matter the shape, so long as I can get a hold on it.
[James will make sure nothing hostile makes it through. He'll stake his life on that promise.]

... The red scarf was a symbol. Not just of the power the champion held, but of peace maintained through the rules of the Outer Ring. The Overlord had more of that than Lighter, more status as a whole where the red scarf was a comparatively quieter and perhaps more dubious honor.
There wasn't an Overlord here. There was just someone who needed to step up. And be the one that lights the flame.
It's with quiet reluctance that Lighter stepped away from the siblings with a nod of acknowledgement, meeting James at the door and meeting his sparkling determination with one of a blazing inferno. A strength Steve Rogers himself could be reflected in.
Lighter nodded to James with a hardy, encouraging pat and squeeze of his shoulder.]
I'll leave them to you, then. We'll have the enemy clear in no time.
[Which implied that he would return. He said they weren't losing anyone today and he meant it.
With that, he went back through the way he came. Time for some reinforcements.]
no subject
[As he watches Lighter go, he hands a hand on James' shoulder. He knows his friend isn't as connected to everyone here- that by his nature he keeps himself distant. Hell, Varian can understand it, you deal with enough loss, eventually you stop letting people get close to you to stop them from hurting you by inevitably leaving again. It's the same logic where he shares his trust with very few people. But despite all this, he has come to fight with them. He's stayed with them and now he's holding the door. He gives the shoulder a squeeze. ]
Thanks, James. I appreciate it- and thanks for the shield, too. That's- that's been a literal lifesaver. I'll work as fast as I can, okay? I have faith you can keep us safe while I do that.
[With that, he turns to his fiance and brother in law. ]
You two try to take it easy- I know this isn't exactly the most... most restful of places, but it'll have to do. Haru, would it help if I figured out how to make the stretcher work for both of you?
[ He can do that, he's pretty sure. He nods at Jun. ]
Do it, it's- it's probably the best chance we'll have at getting anything I can use. Just tell me when you need to close it, okay?
no subject
.... He won't say anything as Lighter goes, as Haru and Varian has said enough. He already made it clear he wanted Lighter to live, he likes to think. Instead he'll try to focus on those still in the room]
Mm, you've been a huge help James. [James has always kept his distance from the group, holding people at arms length. So of course he wants to be extra reassuring.
With his free hand, he'll hold out his first two fingers. A door lined pure white light will appear. ]
Should be okay to have open for a few minutes, but I'll be careful Var. [Even with their earlier bickering, he is trying to be careful. He'll nod his head at James and Varian]
I've allowed access to you two. Take what you need, but don't touch the large sword with a cross on it. It's enchanted to kill anyone that's not its chosen wielder. [So. DON'T DO IT] However, grab the white uniform near it- we can use that to make bandages.
[As they head inside, they'll find themselves in an area that's no bigger than a walk in closet. But even so, it's clearly no normal walk-in closet, as the place seems to be set up like a peaceful garden with a beautiful sky overhead. The items are stored amongst tree branches and vines that have been shaped to act as shelves.
In the back of the room, there is a large tree that has the holy sword Jun described mounted against the bark, as well as the white shroud uniform. Probably not much temptation to take the sword, between the warning and the fact it's larger than both of them. ]

The young archer coughs into his free hand. Fortunately, there's no blood and he doesn't feel dizzy afterwards. So far so good. His respiratory and cardiac systems are not happy with him, though, and that... worries him. Jareth took his time for two weeks just last month. Now, he's being choked by evil and an abundance of magic.
Worry about that later, Harumasa.
... Judging by Apollo's tone, that's a worry for him as well. A grim one. An answer to the question Harumasa's been thinking about.
This is going to be far too much stress on his body, and games like this normally take half an hour at minimum. With the "consequences" being rolled... that time significantly increases. Harumasa won't even be surprised if he needs a second dose of emergency medicine just to keep him alive long enough to get to the hospital.
Harumasa looks up at Varian when he's asked a question. He thinks about it before finally shaking his head.]
No, that won't make it easier to transport me. Your time's better spent making Jun's stretcher and whatever else you can cobble together.
no subject
And yet. And yet. He will say in a very flat tone]
Uh huh. You just want Lighter to princess carry you the whole way.
no subject
ah.
her head perks up to look over at Harumasa, then Jun. with his injury he should remain laying down but Harumasa can barely walk in his current state. ]
Even though it may be dashing some dreams, [ its okay to inject a little bit of humor into their situation. ], I can carry Harumasa. I think I could pull any stretcher along as well if you tie it to me.
[ and considering they haven't much in the way of time Furina takes a deep breath, her form glowing momentarily before shifting into floating blue dragon the size of a pony. ]
no subject
As that childish feeling of not knowing quite what to do next grows thorns in his chest.]
... yeah. F'course. [He mutters, scratching at his cheek a little awkwardly as he moves to hover near the door a little bit more, making sure to stay at an angle where he can dodge any stray spells or debris while still keeping an eye on the fighting happening in the other room.
But... he doesn't get to stay there for long, not with Jun expending enough energy to open a... portal. It's similar to what James has had access to on the outside, but as he makes the carefully weighed decision to leave his post just for a moment to go and peek inside, well. He didn't know magic could look like this.
It's enough to distract him, to shake him the rest of the way from pure responsibility, to let curiosity take root as he steps inside to really look around, glancing over the various items on those shelves, in the branches, in the tree itself, impressed and-- oh. That cloak. He recognizes that cloak. It's enough of a revelation to make him pause, to take that in and connect the dots, to fully solidify in his mind that Shroud is Jun.
And... honestly? James suddenly finds that he understands the guy a lot better, now. People aren't something he knows how to deal with, but superheroes with secret identities? That's what he was raised with.
So he's going to leave Varian to pick through the closet in full, knowing builders enough to understand they need time to find the right parts, emerging after just a few moments inside the closet with Jun's uniform in one hand - it's strange, how it feels to hold that garment, but it's not too surprising to James; after all, his littlest brother has a suit that lets him shrink and grow and boy does that hum to the touch sometimes - and a pink lawn flamingo in the other.]
Think I could kill a plant-o-saur with this?
[James gestures with the flamingo as he asks that, but hey! He's at least snapped out of crisis mode enough that he can joke!
Enough so that he even gives Jun his best attempt at a reassuring smile as he sets that uniform down next to him. A strangely casual gesture, considering how much formal respect James has shown Shroud in the past. He's just so much more at ease now that he knows this particular secret.
From there, however, he's going to be giving Furina room to work in, given her new transformation, leaving the actual logistics of improving Jun's makeshift stretcher to people (Varian) with more of a mind for that kind of thing. After all, he promised to watch the door.]

[ it's remarkably deadpan for Ghilley as he emerges from the closet with another armful of stuff. is he assessing the stuff for its potential uses? no. that's a Varian job. his job should ostensibly be to be back in the previous room making mushroom cutlets out of the big-ass nuisance that's keeping them from moving on with this stupid game, but there's already a lot of up-close fighters in the fray.
there's a reason you only take two melee to a fight. space is tight. you run as much risk of hitting your friend as you do skewering the problem.
besides. if the Last Stand fails somehow, with respect to Baby America and his line holding capabilities, there's a reason to have a Last Last Stand up your sleeve. he drops another armload of stuff and continues to sort it into half-reasonable piles, instead of Ghilley-logic piles--metal stuff here, cloth stuff here, gay display stuff here. he needs to keep his hands busy or he's gonna start climbing the walls, especially since he knows it's his turn to...
he needs to ask Joshua what they're working with. pin in it, focus on future-proofing their movements--so he turns to face Jun and Varian again, leaning on the side of the worktable that Varian's not going to inevitably do technowitchcraft off. ]
If we could get some sort of harness or handles situation going on, that'd make it easier for one person to maneuver Jun--or two, if one of our 'can lift a person' people are otherwise occupied. Maybe you could set up something strappy that big J could use all his still marvelously functional fingers and toes to like, brace on to reduce how much he's bouncing around.
[ because if he's that insistent about not going to a hospital with a bullet in his artery, a little birdie tells Ghilley that he probably won't like the idea of being strapped to something even if it's for his safety. ]
no subject
And Shroud would do what needs to be done to accomplish the mission.]
The points on the beak and feet are sharp. With enough pressure, you could probably do some damage to eyes. Though...
[It's not an ideal weapon. He's monitoring the stuff Ghilley takes out quietly. But when he notices a bracelet, a rosary looking one done in the colors of the non-binary flag, he'll speak up]
Oh! That bracelet! Don't put it in the gay decor pile Ghilley, that's one of those friendship power bracelets- we could use it.
no subject
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Something to make it easier to cart him around- especially because we can't guarantee the terrain will stay exactly the same. It makes sense we make the stretcher something we can manouver easily no matter what. Maybe even be able to attach ropes to if we have to pull him vertically anywhere...
[He's thinking hard on logistics here. ]
Straps are workable too! Very much so! [ He glances at the bracelet. ] Huh. Do... do you think that could work on someone else?
no subject
How's it work? Should I pass it to someone in particular?
[ Varian's got the Science in hand he doesn't need a layman to tell him he's very very smart. that's what his boyfriend is for since Jun's not doin' anything else, damn layabout. ]
no subject
It's pretty simple. You put it on and if you tap on a particular bead that's engraved, it'll give you access to one of my friend's weapons.
Go ahead and try it. Put it on your wrist and tap the bead with the arrow on it. That should be Haru's.
[Going with that one because he's pretty sure those two are friendly enough that it'll work. if the bracelet is going to be that picky]
no subject
he slips the bracelet on as directed anyway, tapping the arrow-bead and catching the peculiar katana-bow that's summoned. the residents of the Meropide have likely only ever seen him hold his big dumb axe, or a single-handed sword, but he doesn't seem unfamiliar with the bow
and then he goes very, very still
the static buzzes behind his eyes, and the world washes out in sepia and he's sitting in a fallen tree log bigger than some people's homes, listening to the golden-haired elezen across the fire from him strum a lyre, the wooden bow at his back feeling heavier than ever--
the comms crackle as they round a corner, chasing the man in the magitek walker as they push through the Garlean forces. the air is bitter cold and smells of burning cereleum, and it aches in his lungs as he levels his bow and takes aim for an enemy pilot, steel and spell clashing against magitek as they claw through the Castrum--
the man--boy, really--next to him pretends that he's not shivering in the heavy coat they procured for him, white braid swaying behind him as they walk in solemn lockstep across the grand bridge that leads to House ■■■■■■■■, who's offered to shelter them despite the sultana's blood staining their hands and he reaches out to squeeze the lad's shoulder and hook an arm around his neck for just a moment as he hums a little tune to make the walk just that much quicker--
and the beast inside of his what was once his friend's skin levels a lance at the warrior who weaves gold, the tongue rattling out of its stolen throat echoing hatred in their skulls as it curses mankind, betrayers and kinslayers that they are, and he levels his bow with Estinien's repurposed eyes and his fingers shake on the arrow and he can't make them let go--
and then he gasps back into himself, clenching his empty hand and starting for a second time when it's not as empty as it had been previous. he's cupping a small green stone, staring at it mystified--and then he remembers that there were entire other people just watching him disappear into memories beyond memories, so he shakes his head and puts his 'nothing strange happened' face back on. ]
So, I can work with a bow.

The demonstration of the bracelet's power has his eyes go wide as he sees a perfect copy of Dormant Tide. He knows for sure that his own is currently in his room. The young archer really wants to examine it further out of pure curiosity to see if there are any flaws, but he restrains himself.
Then, he spots the look in Ghilley's eyes. Harumasa recognizes the look. He sees it a lot in the app users originally born in this world, and he's certain that he gets the same expression sometimes. Something has appeared in the pink-haired man's other hand as well, but he can't see it clearly from this angle. Instead of calling Ghilley out on it, Harumasa just stands up and slowly walks over to them. He's walking fine for short distances, at least.
Harumasa just really wants to make sure that their short king doesn't accidentally sever a finger if he hits the button that makes it not a bow anymore.]
Good! They'll need that. I just wanna show you the mechanism that makes the blades come apart.
[He points it out to him without touching it.]
Press that and then pull them apart. It doesn't need a lot of force, and it snaps back together by aligning them again. The string channels electricity, so be careful not to burn yourself. You can fire arrows without an electric charge. Just hit this with your finger to shut it off.
[And he points that out as well without touching it.]
That should be everything. Any questions?

And Chief and Boss. Three strong men carrying me around and I can't even enjoy it.
[However, Furina has an interesting solution to the dilemma. Having her cart them around is going to be a lot better for their fighters having free hands. It does annoy him that he can't support them from behind with a bow. Or at least let someone borrow Dormant Tide.
Still. No use in dwelling on that. Instead, Harumasa's going to go along with the good humor.]
Looks like I get to fulfill the childhood dream of riding a dragon after all! Crossing that off my list.
[That's better than men. Sorry, men.]
As long as we can still squeeze through the door without my legs being a complication, that should work.
no subject
Aww, there there Nii-san.
[His attention is caught by Furina transforming into a dragon. He's seen a lot of dragons in his time, but he's never seen her dragon form before. Even amongst all this pain and worry, he's still caught by the the feeling of awe]
Ah- Lady Furina, you're so beautiful...!
[He wish he had time to snap a photo, but he's sure going to have to remember this later. Unfortunately right now, time was a limited commodity. He gives James a warm "thanks" as the uniform is set down. Once all the junk has been pulled out of the closet by Varian, James and Ghilley- he'll will away the closet, and use his hands to tug the cape of his uniform over to him. He attempts to lift his head to sit up, but he's hit by another dizzy spell (7)-- so laying down he stays.]
Nn... [He looks around, but everyone else seems pretty busy so, so he'll tug the uniform over to Haru] Haru, hold my cape while I tear it up.
[See Varian, having mobility in his hands IS useful!!]

He catches James having The Shroud Realisation, smiling faintly to himself before getting back to work. Next is the kink case,he KNOWS they have ropes in there, so they get added to the pile before he closes the box snd casually nudges it with his foot so it hides under something else... just in case anyone comes upon it.
He grabs a few extra pieces he can use, the magical allisa key chain (so Jun or Haru can be made invisible), the sewing kit (there's no first aid kit but it might be useful for one) and finally the gardening tools. He doesn't expect them to be gardening, but a solid strut is a solid strut.
He comes back through, pushing the box of crosses that is fullof everything else he's plundered, stopping to give his fiancee a LOOK.]
This doesn't count as enough movement
[He knows what you're thinking, honey, he knows! He starts pulling stuff out of the box, carting them to the workbench. The HUGE PERSON SIZED CROSS is very obvious amongst them.]
Okay, I'm gonna start working. Don't let my partner die while I'm doing it please.
[And with that, the goggles are slid over his eyes, a saw manifeted into his hand, as he gets to work, muttering math to himself as he does do.]

Jun-bug, why do you have a cross the size of a full grown adult?
[Harumasa does grab the sewing kit while Jun starts tearing strips. Once there's enough, he'll quickly sew some together with the speed and surety of someone extremely well-practiced in this type of craft. He makes one that's long, and also a makeshift compress to help keep everything secure.]
Hold still, this will hurt.
[He has enough strength to lift Jun up so that he can bandage up the wound (18). His work is quick and efficient, tight enough to be secure without being suffocating. This is another skill he's thankful to have. One would perhaps think that Harumasa would be glad to be a damsel here, but truthfully he hates it. He hates feeling useless in a crisis, like he's somehow letting everyone down.
But doing this much helps to alleviate the irrational feelings and thoughts.]

It does too count! And don't worry, both of us know how to dress an injury. Just focus on using your brilliant mind to craft stuff we can use, I'll be fine.
[He knows Varian is worried about him, and he feels bad about that- but he also knows Varian is far too valuable to the team to allow him to wallow in that worry. It's better to say and do things that'll push Varian to keep going- rather than letting him stay still and having his inner demons eat away at him. He'll just have to make things up to Varian later.
For now, he'll focus on the task. He'll tear up the strips in a professional manner, not even batting an eye that he's tearing apart what could be argued to be a holy item. Once that's done, he'll do what he can to help hold together the cloth pieces as Haru sews them together. There's no real words exchanged, but from they work it's clear this isn't the first time they've done emergency triage of this nature. Or the second time, really. ]
Understood.
[He braces himself for the pain as he gets lifted. It hurts a lot, but he soldiers through the pain- the grim expression on his face is the only indication he's in pain. He forces to keep his breathing as still as possible, knowing this will end sooner if he complies.
But Jun being Jun, he does try to break up the tension with some jokes (15)]
God, if this how a game of Jumanji goes with this group, think how bad Monopoly would've gone over.
