[There are many ways Neph could go about this. It would probably be more proper if he reached out directly to his son, or to other Black Order members in town, letting everyone know that he's arrived and is setting up to be based here for a while. But he honestly does want to know how Asch has really been doing, and he isn't going to find that out just by asking people who know both of them already, or giving people time to prepare stories.

And maybe he also wants to jumpscare everyone who might recognize him. A man's got to find his fun somewhere.

I do hope you all might indulge a concerned father for a moment. You see, some months back, my son Asch moved to this city. Now, he's a wonderful young man, but very independent, and he doesn't always come to me when he has problems. So if anyone can tell me honestly how he's been doing in his time here, I'd very much appreciate hearing it! Now that my work has transferred me here as well, I hope that we can all get along more closely.

The transfer paperwork went through much sooner than I expected; so I was able to surprise him with an early arrival. [He sounds so proud of himself. Successful dad troll accomplished.]

Honestly I'm less concerned for him when he's shouting. [He's easier to track at the top of his lungs.] But it does seem like he's mostly managed to keep out of too much trouble, thanks to the many watchful eyes I'm sure.

[Including Husk's, but he's not going to offer gratitude too directly. Not in the open on the network, anyway.]

[They both know Asch loves his dad really, even if he's yelling about it right now. Sometimes you gotta accept that your parent is gonna make you want to curl into a hole and die. It's a parent right! Earned from taking care of a lunatic! ]

Looks like plenty of people wanna keep the moron from doing himself a mischief. Though, yeah, except there's plenty of screaming left to come. He's gotta make his upset known after all.

[Husk appreciates the lack of public thanks, he's never very good at accepting that kind of thing. Not that anyone really believes he's as indifferent as he tries to make himself seem, but Husk keeps the charade up anyway. ]

I work at a place called Ghost City. You should drop by sometime. Been trying to lay off the booze but I can have a fuckin' spritzer or something while we catch up.

I think the neighbors were trying to put together a fund for soundproofing our apartment during his school years.

[Neph is a couple decades younger than Husk, but that's still old enough to get it. Especially having raised a child of his own adjacent to and eventually within the Order.]

I just might be able to make the time for a little socializing, in the name of keeping tabs on the goings-on of the city.

That doesn't surprise me for a fuckin' second. That kid's got a good set of lungs on him.

[ There's a certain level of understanding that comes from raising a kid with the spectre of the Order looming over you. It brings a whole different set of complications that only those who have been there would really understand. Sometimes, it's good to be able to speak to someone who gets it. ]

Ain't no better place than Ghost City for that. It'll be worth your time.
