Intro Log!
WHO: Mirabel and you!
WHERE: The Labyrinth, and then the city
WHEN: Jan. 19th
WHAT: Mirabel is here!
WARNINGS: Sad girl alert
[Labyrinth]
[Mirabel felt like she was in a dream.
Maybe it was a dream - she remembers posing for a family photo, and while she was still in her house something felt... wrong about it. Her biggest clue was the glowing doors in her path, none of them with names or faces attached to them.]
Casita...?
[The house doesn't answer her like it usually does. None of her family was in sight either. With a lot of hesitancy, she tries to open one of the doors.
And just like when she was little, the door fades into a solid wall before her eyes. Oh so... we're doing this again. Mirabel might have learned that she doesn't need a Gift to be accepted by her family, but there's still something... very painful about watching that glowing door fade.
She manages to open the next door, but it doesn't have her name on it - or anyone's name on it for that matter. It just leads to a room with more doors. This... isn't Casita. It's all wrong.]
Hello...? Is anyone here?
[The City]
[At some point, whether someone helps her or she gets out on her own, Mirabel finds her way to the city. It's completely unfamiliar territory, and she doesn't even know where to go or where she is. She tries to wave over the first person she sees - maybe they can tell her how to get home?
It's also freezing here. She wraps her arms around herself as she talks.]
Hola! Can you tell me where I am? Are we far from Colombia?

[Unhelpful but not untrue. ]
Though I'm sure he's still in the city somewhere.
no subject
I'll find him. About how big is this city?
no subject
...Big enough.
[He gives a little sigh. He knows he should be keeping a low profile, but he should help out]
Hey, let me help you. There's some people I can try contacting to see if they know where he is. [He has no idea if Zodiac would respond, but it's worth a shot, right?] You can warm up inside the shop in the meanwhile. We even have coffee if you'd like some.
no subject
That sounds great, thank you. I'm Mirabel, by the way. Mirabel Madrigal.
[The Madrigal part is important!]

[Thank goodness, she's down with his idea! He'll hold open the door for her as he steps in. The coffee shop is small and cozy, one of those indie coffee shops with art all over the walls. Jun will gesture for her to sit at the counter while he heads behind it.]
How do you like your coffee? Don't worry, it's on the house.
[If the owner takes issue, he'll pay for it himself. He imagine this girl doesn't have much in the way of American currency anyway]
no subject
[And once she enters the coffee shop, she lets out a sigh of relief. It is much warmer in here!]
I like mine a little sweet - but I don't actually have any money...
no subject
[He can work with that! He'll start making a caramel latte.]
Don't worry about money. "On the house" means free.
[A moment later he'll set the latte down in front of her...as well as a plate of decorated donut holes ]
Enjoy!
[The food and drink taken care of, he'll pull out his cellphone to start texting Zodiac. God, does he hope they answer]
no subject
[The donut holes are cute! It's just the pick up she needs after getting lost in a maze and then lost in a cold city.]
no subject
Alright, sent.
[He lowers the phone, though still keeping it with him in case they respond]
There's a group called Zodiac that seems invested in the strange happenings around town recently, including people showing up from far off places unexpectedly. If anyone in town has been keeping tabs on your uncle, it's probably them.

Maze?

no subject
Huh. That sounds like something that might happen in the Spirit Realm. Which would make sense, that's where I found your uncle.

I'm not sure why it'd transport you all the way to the US, but it's not like anyone knows why the Spirit Realm does anything.
no subject
I'm... so lost right now.
no subject
I'm sure you've heard the stories. Ones about people who get whisked away by spirits or into the spirit world or some other world, never to be heard from again? Almost every culture has some version of that.
That might've been what happened to you.

[He scratches his jaw sheepishly]
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you won't be able to go home again. I'm sure we'll find some way to send you and your uncle back to Colombia.
no subject
I know. I'm just... this is my first time being away from home. Like ever.
no subject
[It's hard to blame her, really.
....]
So you said you live in a magic house?

[Which is a genuine sentiment! Magic buildings? Totally new to him.]
