Quiet Reflections
WHO: James Rogers & Persephone
WHERE: Persephone's Shrine
WHEN: Back on 2/8
WHAT: With Valentine's Day on the horizon, James called on Persephone to honor someone he's lost.
WARNINGS: Talk of death and grieving, will update if needed!
[It takes a little bit of time for James to find his way to Persephone's shrine, if just... because he's making a few stops on the way, dipping his head into some of the gaudier shops to look around, trying to find things that catch his eye, things that... she would have laughed at, if just for how cheesy and gaudy they were.
In the end, James is coming up on Persephone's shrine with his phone in hand, checking the directions he's following practically every step of the way. He wasn't able to find the flowers that he wanted, but he does have a bag from a nearby Hallmark store that's full of a few things he means to leave here as remembrance.
Either way, he's pausing at the entrance to Cathedral Hill, mouth slightly open as he marvels at the cathedral and statue at the center, the variety of other places of worship that surround him. It's... quiet, here. In a way the rest of the city isn't. He really can understand why this would become a place to pay respects.]
Whoa...

Quite impressive, isn't it? Given this city is something of a hub for multitudes of worlds and faiths, it is good to see them all having a chance to be respected here. You must be James.

She'll never know this, but considering what James knows of her relation to death-- the first thing that he's thinking is she does fit the part. At least with how strong and intimidating she looks.]
And you're Persephone. [He manages a slight smile, straightening up as much as he can (it's not much, this kid is small and scrawny) as he enters what can only be considered Work Mode. After all, he doesn't want to offend the first God he's actually been able to meet.] Thanks again for this. I... really don't know what I'm doing.

I am she.
[The straightening up is adorable, and her lips quirk in light amusement. She inclines her head, leading him into the area where her own shrine is kept. ]
Do not worry about it. Most do not, I will not hold it against you. You wish to try, and that matters more than anything. So relax. I promise I will not eat you.

He's learned a lot since he stumbled into this world, has experienced life he'd always read about, life that he barely remember from his younger years. He's had fast food, watched movies, been able to just walk down a street and see so, so many people living their lives, carefree and happy and not running, hiding, or fighting desperately for survival.
He's learned a lot, but this... this still just seems like something he can't wrap his mind around.]
You don't look like you'd eat people. [He's muttering, a little embarrassed for being so easily read.] I just-- I don't really know how to deal with Gods, still. All the Gods my parents used to deal with stopped communicating with Earth as soon as Ultron started killing people.
But, you know. Asgardians. [James would like to think annoyance with Asgardians is a mutli-universal thing. And if it isn't, boy will he help make it be.]
no subject
No. I don't. And that is fine, I don't think most are prepared to deal with us. [Oh well. That sucks. She doesn't know who "Ultron" is, but that sounds pretty shitty. ] I have been living among humans since the 1940s. The way the Idols... the Gods in my world is that we pass on our lifeforce to a human, so living completely away from you is... impossible. Though some do try and drag that on as long as they can.
[ ATHENA. ]
I do not, I am afraid. I have only ever met Gods from my own Pantheon before I came here. The stories of Asgardians I have heard are... not complimentary, but then my father used to sleep with women as various animals so the Greeks are in no place to judge.
