Well, I can't get this stupid app off my phone, so I might as well: anybody here know any place that lets you bring your dog in with you? The motel's not gonna let me bring Sunny in even though she's housebroken and well-trained and wearing a diaper, the assholes.

It better be a cheap place, too! I just got here, I'm still looking for a job.

[The dog barks, and Jin Ling's stormy face immediately softens as he glances down at the dog.]

Yeah, no, I know. Don't worry, I'll get us somewhere nice. [Pat pat.] Good girl.

Oh, and: best pet stores in the city? Cheap's not an option there, my dog deserves the best.

"Ah, I know of those things! The hedgehog always insisted on having 'movie nights' back in Green Hills. But I have not seen anything about this revolution."

Mostly because between Sonic and Tom movies tended to be more of the action-oriented variety. With the occasional family flick that was probably Tails' choice really. And no, Knuckles wasn't going to think to explain any more context of that statement unless asked to.

"Why would they not live there, if it is there and they desire to?" Knuckles please. "Of course it does not leak."

[Jin Ling groans, very rapidly losing what little patience he had for this conversation. Oh god this guy's so dumb. Why.]

Because it's underwater! Because unless you can somehow breathe underwater you can't live underwater. What's down there, a merperson or selkie colony or something?!

Hey now who was the one here denying hedgehogs could be into movies while speaking with someone who's clearly not human, wouldn't that make him the dumb one?

"No. Most of those who live there are humans. There is plenty of air within the fortress, so there is no problem for breathing."

That last part was said with a look like Knuckles thought that should be so obvious as to not need to be a question. Did he not just say it didn't leak??

He makes an annoyed little noise in the back of his throat.]

But it could. Boats can leak and they're on the water. Between that and probably even the pressure too depending on how deep this fortress is, why are there people, like humans, just, just living down there?
