[We've reached the second half of January. The cold winter weather is continuning, and is in fact getting worse. The temperatures are dipping far below normal. If you are outside the barrier and the area you're in doesn't have any magical means of protection (like Persephone's cottage), these temperatures are cold enough to be potentially life-threatening if you stay out there in prolong periods and don't have some means to keep yourself warm. The weather channels are saying this is a result of a polar vortex but... since when are Polar vortexes isolated to a single city?

Everyone's devices will emit a soothing wind chime sound as a new Zodiac post appears. The chime will sound even if you have your phone turned off or on silent, and will not stop until you read their messsage and comment to it.]

Yeah we're aware of the cold weather, and management believes that it's the influence of a Spirit Realm gate. They're currently working on locating it and assessing the situation, and we'll back to you as soon as we know when.

Combine that with a friend who can weave some cold resistance magic into your jacket and you should be able to handle the cold just like a professional

For anyone not used to this kind of cold weather, there's some good basic tips here to get you started. If you have questions feel free to ask, I grew up up north and unlike some people I'd rather not see anyone lose a toe to frostbite or worse.

Okay, but seriously, is the weather worse than usual? It SUPER feels worse than usual! I KNOW I'm not from a place where I'm used to the cold, but this feels EXTRA. There are icicles on my windowsills and I am super duper not down for that!

ANYway, just the blanket "if things get extremely terrible here again, the Vogue is a safe space, wouldn't it be nice if things stopped being crazy for once" message. It's SUPER cold here, but we've got barriers so I GUESS that's something.

I like the rooftops. Usually. And I'm fine, truly, and it's not as if the fall hurt that much—ah, I mean, there are dumpsters all over the city, and I know how to angle a fall!

[Though it was in fact a very wild experience to slip, fall three stories onto concrete, and then get back up again with no damage done whatsoever, to his own shock.]

[ If Lapis' voice comes through as a little muffled, that's because she is currently a very cold lizard hiding in her fiancé's hoodie. At least she's small enough to do that without any issues, though typing is hard to do with her new claws. ]

Strange question but does anyone know any good places to get like... little sweaters? Like, sweaters for lizards?

Not at all! [That is the sound of a man who has ruthlessly shoved a small crisis over this into a box marked For Later in the back of his brain.] The impact was jarring, to be sure, and I felt it, but I didn't feel any pain. And I did check to see if I'd missed an injury. Nothing.

Still, if anyone else feels like hitting the roofs, and I know there are, they ought to be careful. It's slippery, not to mention the cold will sting your eyes.
