Hello, everyone. For those I haven't met, my name is Maxima, and today I'm pleased to announce that after a successful first test run, we are opening up the Aides du Meropide, an adventurers' guild based in the Fortress of Meropide. [He scrolls the camera view over the banner and job board for a moment before coming back into frame.] In order to help with the expenses of running the Fortress, we will be doing work around the city of Kaisou, handling tasks that are below the Black Order's threshold of attention.
Most of the payment we receive will go toward Fortress operation, but there will be compensation to guild members once we've established some cash flow, based on the number of jobs recently undertaken. If you know anyone who needs some work done, please reach out and spread the word. [He zooms the camera in this time on a flyer with a phone number, and then on a letterbox next to the bulletin board.] We have a voicemail line, and we'll be accepting submissions through these boxes in various places around the city.
Whether you're interested in helping or need help yourself, we look forward to hearing from you soon.

If there's manual labor involved you can count me in.
I can cook, clean and hunt. It was part of my training.

[That voice sounds young...]
Out of curiosity, how long did you serve? I was in the military myself, back home.

We're not that different then.
I served as a cadet for three years. Eventually, I graduated and became a member of the Survey Corps. I've worked with them for over a year now.
We did some reconnaissance and drills so that we could survive on the battlefield.
Can you tell me more about your experiences with the military?

I joined the service as a young man, as most of my countrymen do. Where I come from, spending some time in the army is mandatory unless you can provide a good reason why you should be excepted from service: mostly those who do necessary jobs or are raising families, or have some sort of infirmity that would prevent them from keeping up with the work. Anyone who isn't exempt must spend at least a few years serving the Empire.
For the most part, my unit stayed within our borders, helping to maintain supply chains to the front and watch for potential incursions into our territory.

Without people tending to these jobs it would be a mess. The work probably isn't easy but you seem like a well trained soldier.
I respect that, sir.

[not to mention he defected from the army and turned over information to their enemies after the government tried to kill him, and the only reason no one remembers to call him a traitor now is because most of the people who would have made that declaration were dead before he returned home to try and save the rest]
An adventurers' guild isn't a military unit, and I have no intention of running it like one. Any work you do will be offered as an opportunity, not an order.

[ If it was actually a militarized unit then Eren would be suspicious of their intentions. He's glad it's just an adventure guild. The atmosphere is more relaxed and there are benefits to working in a group. ]
Besides, it's not good to just listen because someone tells you to do something. You need to have your own free will and reasons.
You've got plenty of reasons for helping.
