December Event Log

December Event Log
Dominant Element: Light
Waning Element: Shadow
Full Moon: December 14th - December 16th
※
As Kaisou enters the month of December, snow begins to fall gently across the city, covering the city in a pristine blanket of snow. The temperature gets cold enough to make one need a coat and other winter garments, but it's not so cold that it's unpleasant to be out if you're comfortably dressed. Overall, the weather is ideal Christmas weather. Up in the sky, the Spirit Vein has shifted into the Light element, cascading the sky with a brilliant light show of numerous colors. While it's most frequently hues of white and gold, it'll occasionally turn to all sorts of color shades on the visible spectrum, giving you something new to see every single night.
The Christmas MarketWith the holidays right around the corner, Kaisou's shops are going full steam ahead. Sales, sales, and more sales are showing up every day, and several little holiday pop ups slip into empty storefronts for the month. If you want it, someone will have it.
If you happen to want something a little unique, however, Kaisou's Winter Market is back this year, as vibrant as ever. Located in Midtown, it's open most of the day and well into the night for all of your shopping needs. Custom ornaments, delicious food, gorgeous light displays, even musical performances can be found in this little slice of holiday magic. There's even people selling things that aren't strictly Christmas, if you happen to celebrate something else (or are just tired of Christmas trees).
This year there's a new stand from Drosselmeyer Toys. They're the celebrities of the market, it seems, with their wonderfully odd little toys and gorgeous craftsmanship. They seem to almost move on their own, with no sign of batteries or clockwork powering them. Those with magic sense will be able to tell there's something magical about the toys, but they can't place what it is.
There's also something about the strange but overall friendly older gentleman running he stand. He won't answer any questions about the magic, though. He just smiles and wink, a finger to his lips. Weird.
If you're looking to do some shopping that takes place inside, the Seven Star mall is also all decked out for Christmas. The place is covered in Christmas decorations and holiday lights, with holiday items for sale in every store. In the main open area of the mall, they have a Santa display set up. Here, children (or adults) can meet an actor that's dressed up as Santa, as well as Mrs. Claus, some elves, and some reindeer. The whole thing is top tier kitschy. If you're interested in earning some extra money this season, maybe you can even get yourself to cover some of the shifts in this fake winter wonderland. Just try not to destroy the dreams of too many children.
Haul Out The Holly♪- Carol of the Bells (Trans-Siberian Orchestra edition)
At one end of town, you have the Market. At the other? Christmas Warfare. Or rather, Christmas Lights Warfare. One of the local organizations, the Youth United Lights Embassy (or YULE), is hosting a big holiday light display contest. Anyone who wants to can decorate their house and enter the contest for a chance at winning the grand prize: a holiday feast that fits your needs and YULE paying your electric bill for the next two months.
The competition is brutal. The people who always go all out for holiday light displays seem to be going even further this year, with some discussion the possibility of sabotaging their "rivals". The people who don't go all out are going all out this year. And the people who think everyone here is off their nut is grabbing the roasted chestnuts to watch this chaos.
You're welcome to join in, either as a contestant or as someone watching it all. Near the middle of the month there'll be a grand "parade" through as many of the entrants as they can get--a perfect holiday outing!
♪- Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy
If you're done shopping or not here for the light show, there's plenty of other things to do in Kaisou, of course. There are several parties being held throughout the month, hosted both by those on the Libra app and those who aren't, if that's your style. If it isn't, there's a traveling team or two of carolers, eager for an audience. The local movie theater is doing a marathon of holiday and winter movies for cheap, and a Christmas tree "farm" has opened up on the edge of town if you're still looking for a tree. Be careful, though; since the edge of the city is now touching the Spirit Realm, this is no ordinary tree farm. This is a certified-by-Santa tree farm. This farm is run by Christmas elves. On the one hand, they're eager just to help you find the perfect tree and won't charge an arm and a leg.. On the other, they will talk your ear off about Christmas and all the things you can do during the holiday. And no, Santa is not there yet.
Meanwhile, the kitsune of Blue Fish Park are at it again. They're talking up this marvelous toy they're selling, one that zips and bops and whirls, and promises that it'll be the best gift you could possible give anyone. If you buy one, you'll discover that it really does do all the things the kitsune said it would...and never stops. Ever. You'll have to break it to make it stop. No refunds!
The NutcrackerOn the morning of December 5th, Zodiac will send out a message to everyone on the Libra app.
ALERT: ASSISTANCE REQUESTED IN THE DOLL KINGDOM
Dominant Element: Light
Danger Level: Low
Designation: Dollhouse
Zodiac has detected a Spirit Gate in Midtown. A resident has reached out to us requesting assistance. Those who wish to help, please report to the Zodiac offices.
Those who go to the offices will be met by Professor Barbie, who is decked out in so much Christmas attire it's a little overwhelming. She explains that despite being from Barbie Land, she's never been to the Doll Kingdom and wishes she could go with you. But she can't, so she'll just have to let you go with the Nutcracker. And she means that literally, as behind her stands a human-sized wooden nutcracker, odd jaw and all. He explains that he is the one who requested your aid, and that he'll explain once they get back to the palace.
Those who decide to just go to the gate directly and see what the problem is will find a gate made of candy canes with a strange clock on the top of it...and a man on top of that. If you went to the Christmas market, you might recognize the man as the one running the Drosselmeyer Toys stall. He introduces himself as Drosselmeyer and someone who works closely with the Doll Kingdom before just waving everyone into the gate.
Inside the gate is a literal winter wonderland. Perfect glittery white snow (that may or may not have actual glitter in it) lies in elegant drifts against tall pine trees and the air is cold but not unbearably so. Little childish giggles and laughter can be heard everywhere in the forest. Before you, a perfectly maintained path winds its way out of the forest, and comfortable sleighs drawn by the most beautiful horses stand ready to take everyone to the Doll Palace.
On the way, the Nutcracker turns into a regular human man, still dressed as a Nutcracker. He explains that he's the prince of these lands (and that Drosselmeyer is his uncle) and that he needs help getting ready for Christmas. The Sugar Plum Fairy, the one who is usually responsible for this, has taken longer than expected to return from her errand. He isn't too concerned about her wellbeing, but they still need to finish getting ready. If they don't, the holidays will lack that magical touch everyone is so fond of.
Snowflakes And GingersnapsThe most important thing, the Prince and several others will tell you, is to keep the Snowflake Fairies, young fairies responsible for making snowflakes and frost patterns, and Ginger Kids, the collective name for every child-age resident of the realm, distracted. They're all fairly young or otherwise troublesome and if they're not occupied no one is getting anything done. A pleasant older woman who goes by Mother Ginger needs all the help she can get, and she'll reward anyone who does help her with fresh cookies and hot chocolate.
And you'll want the hot chocolate, as it seems this year the kids are in their Snowball War era. The Ginger Kids and Snowflakes will take turns grabbing anyone who's been assigned babysitter and drag them over to their team's respective half of the back garden. You'll promptly be put to work building snow forts, making snowballs, or helping them put together snowball trebuchets. Every so often someone will yell "WAR" and then all hell breaks loose. Snowballs start flying, kids go down and are rushed off the field by their allies, and war cries are heard everywhere. The chaos only stops when someone (usually Mother Ginger) declares it's time for a snack. Then they all just traipse back inside to warm up, only to do it all again after that.
Some of the gentler souls amongst the younger crowd aren't involved in the Snowball War, so if you're less physically inclined (or just want to avoid getting pelted for a bit), you might be asked to stay with them and keep them busy. They're all decorating gingerbread houses and cookies and making a mess, but hey, it's not snowball fights! Just don't wear anything fancy, because it will get covered in icing.
Helping around the Doll KingdomWith the kids occupied, that means everyone else can get to work. The most help is needed with the decorating, so grab a string of lights and get to it. The princess of the realm, a young woman named Clara, has stepped in as head of the decorating committee and will happily assign people to the areas they'll be most helpful. Sorry, tall people, you're on lights-and-mistletoe duty.
If you ask anyone how they want something hung or where does something go, you'll likely be met with "oh, wherever you think it looks best" or "anywhere you'd like!" It seems that decorating here is fully vibes-based, so as long as nothing clashes you can put that tree in the hall if you want, or by that window, or in front of the fireplace! Make sure to put the porcelain village buildings on a table or a shelf, but it doesn't matter which one! The palace is your canvas.
If you'd rather not decorate the palace, the kitchens always need help. There's a lot of people who need feeding, after all, and that means a lot of cookies and hot chocolate and other delightful treats need making. The kitchens, at least, do have some sense of structure to them; baking is a science, after all, and the head chef will remind you of that if you try to deviate too far from the recipes. Loudly. Possibly while waving a wooden spoon covered in chocolate at you. Mind the mess!
As you bake and brew and prepare all the goodies for the holiday, you might notice a plate of cookies going missing or perhaps footprints in the flour that weren't there a moment ago. If you bring it up to someone, they'll wave it off as the children of the palace having their fun.
It isn't. Of course it isn't. The longer you're there, the more obvious these signs become until, finally, a group of about four or five bipedal rats the size of children burst in. They claim they're envoys of the Rat Army and they're here to inform the palace that they have the Sugar Plum Fairy captive. If they want to see the fairy in one piece ever again, they are to meet their king out in the forest. They grab a plate of cookies and then scamper off before anyone can stop them.
Tin SoldiersOnce the Nutracker and Clara are informed of the situation, everyone is sent to meeting place followed along with a troop of soldiers. No one seems too worried about this, at least, and if asked they'll assure you that they're old hats at handling the Rats. This shouldn't be difficult at all.
The Rats and their king are waiting for you at the meeting place, thought King looks annoyed that the Nutcracker himself isn't with you. He grumbles about his old nemesis once again refusing him the satisfaction of beating him, before he tells you to pick the best and strongest amongst you to face off against his soldiers and finally himself. Five of the rats step forward, waiting while you debate who among you will go first.
Once someone steps forward, one of the rats also does.
And then the music starts.
Turns out that battles here are not fought with swords and guns but music and dance, and the soldiers who came with you are more the band than actual soldiers. You just need to out-dance the Rat Soldiers and their King to win. You best bring your best moves, as the rats are no push overs when it comes to their dancing skills. Despite being large rodents, they move with the grace of professional ballet dancers. Should you not succeed the first time, the rats will laugh you away and tell you to come back when you've practiced more. Their laughter will only get more mocking the more times you fail at this act, so you should probably take your dance practice seriously.
After finally defeating the Rats, the Sugar Plum Fairy is brought out from the cage they were keeping her (which looks very much like a typical rat cage, but large), completely okay if a bit grumpy at being held captive by the Rats "again", whatever that means. She explains that they caught her coming back from Santa's Workshop, that the big man in red should be here soon, and they should all head back to the Doll Kingdom so they can finish preparations.
Santa ClausWith the rats defeated and the Sugar Plum Fairy back from her trip to go help Santa Claus, the Doll Kingdom can finally finish their preparations! Everything is finished up in flash, making the kingdom look even more like a pristine Christmas paradise. To thank everyone for helping out, the Prince and Clara invite the Libra app users to their celebrations. There's food, games, and beautiful music that plays throughout the halls.
About an hour into the celebrations, the man of the hour shows up. Through the doors, steps the one and only St. Nicholas. There's no mistaking him as he fits the descriptions of him to a T: the bright red coat, a full white beard, eyes that twinkle with warmth and fun, and rosy cheeks from a life in the frozen North Pole. His presence looms larger than anyone else around, and when he laughs it bellows out from his belly, echoing through the room and filling it with his joy.
The first people Santa focuses on, of course, are the children. They clamor around him, so excited to see him. He smiles warmly as he greets and speaks with each child, knowing them by name and speaking to them with the kind of familiarity you'd expect from a loving grandparent. Each of the children are given a gift from is sack, one that's perfect and exactly what the child had asked for. As for any children from the Libra app, they too will be given the same warmth and given a present from Santa.
Only once Santa's had a chance to interact every child at the party does the old saint acknowledge the adults. He knows the names of every one in the room, and those that he interacted with in past years will be greeted like an old friend. While he doesn't give presents to the adults directly, like years before, he offers to create an enchanted gift for someone you care deeply about- as a thank you for all the good work you've done this year.
But of course, not everyone is satisfied with just a friendly chat with Santa Claus. Oh no, he remembers how the Libra App users have taken to try dueling with him. Should anyone approach him about this, he gives a playful wink and puts a finger to his mouth. Not at this party, he doesn't want to ruin this lovely party the Doll Kingdom has created. Rather he'll meet you all tomorrow, at the Fortress of Meropide.
[Mod Note: If your character is under 18, they will get a free item of their choice that's worth 2 points or less (aka a bonus birthday skeleton present). Present can be redeemed in the regain page. Meanwhile every character can pick a enchanted santa gift for their CR. Head over here for more information.]
The Christmas Battle♪- Herald of the Bells
Art Credit
The next day, the Fortress of Meropide is abuzz with activity. Thanks to some of the residents of the fortress, the entire place has been completely decked out in Christmas decorations, from over a dozen Christmas trees in the habitat ring, to the Christmas music playing over the intercoms, to the inflatable Christmas-themed dinosaurs that are scattered around the place. What do dinosaurs have to do with Christmas? Who can say really!
Anyone that's here for the fight with Santa Claus, either to spectate or to participate, will be directed to the Pankration Ring. The Pankration Ring has also been similarly decorated for the holidays, but there is also a deep ring of snow that now encircles the fighting ring in order to soften any landings that might occur. Those who want to watch the fight will be ushered to the side benches where they get a good view. Meanwhile Santa Claus himself will sit in the high balcony usually meant for referees, sitting on a throne he conjured himself.
When enough people have arrived, Santa will greet everyone warmly, clearly amused by this tradition that has sprung up in Kaisou. However, he informs everyone that before they can fight with him, there is a lover of Christmas that has insisted that the challengers face him first. With that, out comes Wriothesley, defender of Santa. Along with him is his companion Veldora, whose mostly there to help his friend. You'll have to battle the two of them first in a match before you're allowed to fight Santa. They are tough opponents, but thankfully since this room is too small for Veldora to grow to his full size, they aren't unbeatable.
Which is more than can be said about the opponent that follows them, should you beat the duo. If you beat Wriothesley and Veldora, you'll have a chance to heal and recover your strength, before Saint Nicholas enters the ring himself. Here in the fighting ring, his presence grows ever stronger as there's no need to mask it. Anyone with energy sensing abilities will quickly realize just about how out of their league basically everyone is.
There is no winning against Santa Claus. Rather, it's more a question of how long you manage to last before you get knocked out of the ring and into the pile of snow that he provided. No matter how many people he faces off against, he doesn't seem to tire out. Rather, he seems to be having the time of his life - it's not too often he gets to enjoy a good bout of fisticuffs with his current duties. As you land into the snow drifts, you'll find yourself with a present from Santa himself- a little thank you for the match.
Once everyone's had their fill of fighting, Santa will declare this tournament a great success. He'll thank everyone for coming, and tell them to head to the cafeteria for some refreshments. With that, he'll bid everyone a Merry Christmas before disappearing in a flash of light- as he is awfully busy this time of year.
Should you head up to the cafeteria like he suggested, you'll find the tables are covered in Christmas treats. There's all types of Christmas foods and desserts for people to try, and there's just about every Christmas-type drink you can find at the drinks table. Not only that, but there are various nostalgic dishes of food for everyone who attended the fight. It could be your favorite Christmas meal, or just a dish that comes from a treasured memory- all of them are prepared well and guaranteed to leave you with a warm belly.
Truly, the Spirit of Christmas is like no other.
[Mod Note: If your character chooses to Santa, they will get a gift from Santa decided by Santa. Head over here to let the mods know]
After your dealings with the Doll Kingdom and your encounters with Santa, the rest of the Christmas season goes peacefully. After such a chaotic year with many changes and challenges, you've more than earned a good holiday. Spend time with your loved ones, enjoy the holiday activities, and do your best to stay warm. Those looking for dangers are more than welcomed to visit Dragonspine Mountain and fight foes there- but why seek out battles?
There'll be more of those to come in the coming new year.
The dominant element this month is Light! Anyone with an affinity to the shadow element will find themselves boosted throughout the month. This could mean a boost to their power, having more energy, feeling more inspired with creativity, having better luck on different attempts -- the boost can manifest in all sorts of different ways. By contrast, anyone with an affinity for Light will be experiencing the opposite. Perhaps their powers will be weaker, they have less energy, they're having a creative block or general worse luck - again it can manifest in all sorts of way and players are free to play with this mechanic as they'd like.
The original OOC plotting post for this event can be found here. There will be a midmonth Zodiac post on the 15th.

Yasuho Hirose | JoJolion | OTA
[Like a lightswitch, it happens. If not for the magic 8hour pillow Yasuho uses every night, it would have been sooner, but the minute she wakes up there's a burst of giddy emotion that's been not only absent but inverted for the past month. Her actual energy for magic of course is still faltering- no amount of a mood switch and elemental boost will beat back a seasonal affect- but who needs magic when there's a different kind of magic, all around them?
CHRISTMAS MAGIC!] It's finally here...~!
[Yasuho's tiny house is decked out within barely two hours of waking up, from top to bottom with lights, tinsel, and more. The outfit wand means she's dressed for the weather in a flash, and that means that for every day that she lacks classes, she can be spotted at the market. It's time to go shopping.]
Oh- did you see that stand over there?
[It doesn't matter if you know her. Hallmark Hirose is here.]
They have really cute wood carvings this year..!
[TOYLAND]
[With her magic out of sorts, there's only so much that Yasuho can help out with in Toyland. Icing cookies is certainly something she can manage though, and through much of the preparations she can actually be seen flying about to get tinsel and decorations up in hard to reach places...and recovering from the fatigue with a good strong hot chocolate.
It's when the meeting with the Rats and the Rat King happens however, that she can really shine, she thinks.
Probably?]
It's cheating..?
[For a moment Yasuho was all ready to use her Idol costume to get a leg up in the dance off, but the rats insist. Some even point to the tutus they have laying for spare costumes. It's this or nothing, apparently.
But somehow she can't let that dampen her mood- sure she can't use the Idol costume but...well the costume just boosts her skill anyway. She can still dance!
And she does! (17) Very well in fact!] WHOO!
Hey!~ Join me, come on~!
[She's going to absolutely pass out for a nap after this but it'll be worth it so come on, dance!!!]
[MEROPIDE]
[Per Jun's suggestion, now that Yasuho has the mental energy for it she's taking a visit to Meropide. And after visiting once, she visits again. And again. And again-
Yasuho is in heaven. Spinning. Twirling. Like a kid at Christmas, but instead it's Yasuho in what amounts to Christmas-land. The woman cheers and whoops loudly from the stands during the arena fights, and even louder when the big man in red appears himself. Over all she's just...
Very giddy.] Hnhnhnhnhn~!
[Has she been drinking? ...she has not been drinking. She is just like this.]
This is amazing isn't it? I can't believe they were able to set so much of this up here...they even have the pudding I tried when I was 6...
[CLOSED: FUGO]
[Tis the season, except for when it...Kind of isn't? There's something to be said about enjoying the holiday while in a different climate, even when that reality doesn't celebrate. Gerudo Town and indeed the Gerudo Desert just has a certain level of beauty to it though, and more importantly perhaps, access to some recipes, to jewelers...
A Great Fairy...
One conversation with another between herself and another Pokego member led to another, and it's not long before Yasuho and Fugo are taking a trip to the sunny, baking region. The goal, as they strap up a 'sleigh seal' and head south, is twofold. Primarily, they want to see if they can find that Great Fairy and figure out what benefits that might have for...well really anything.
But hopefully along the way they find some koroks too, even if all there is is sand, sand dunes, and the occasional cactus.
There's probably..something out here right?
The bones of the Gerudo Desert leviathan loom in the distance, but there's nothing yet. Not until...uh.]
Woah- Hey..!
[They were already slowing up given that this is where the Great Fairy is supposed to be but. Uh.]
Look!!
[LEAVES?? PILE OF LEAVES?? ON THE SKULL???]
[WILDCARD - holiday hirose is here and if it involves cheer you better stay clear. or not. up to you. In other words, Yasuho will be bouncing about quite happily through the month, so if you have something you'd like to do, just hit me up in the Discord!]
Hyrule Holiday
The Gerudo Desert is a lovely solution for that, even if they have to periodically take elixirs.
While "Great Fairy" initially had Fugo a little apprehensive, hearing more about the Great Fairies from people in Hyrule soothed him a bit. He has no idea if it'll actually be helpful, especially for POKEGO, but that's a bridge they can cross when they get there. And anyway, maybe there are a few koroks hiding out here... even if it's a desert.
And bless Fugo's recent enhancement to his vision, because it doesn't take him long to spot what Yasuho's pointing out.]
... Is that a pile of leaves? [Hm. Suspicious.] What's that doing out here?

Toyland
[She had already been boogieing lightly in the crowd, pumped up as she watches others' performances. Waiting for her own turn. So at the offer, Dani breaks out into the biggest grin.]
Don't have to tell me twice~!
[She spins into the 'arena,' ending with one leg pointed behind her in proper ballet pose.]
Though I gotta ask: robin or lark? Which do ya prefer?
[Maybe don't go throwing dance lingo at a new acquaintance, you sneaky nerd.]

Zulius | Centaurworld | OTA
[ Naturally, The Vogue is a beacon of festive lights and decorations. As is his right as (probably) The Gayest Man In Kaisou, Zulius has gone ALL out in the theatre. A huge tree sits in the lobby - the (MANY) santa centaurs decorating it, for once actually fitting with the season. Glittery garlands hang from the ceiling, sparkling in the lights and tinsel can be found on most of the flat surfaces.
The theatre itself is showing a musical version of A Christmas Carol with the theatre troupe acting their hearts out. Meanwhile in the evening, the bar is holding regular parties, full of holiday jingles to get you onto the dancefloor, with christmas themed cocktails to give you the extra liquid courage to get you dancing.
As always, Zulius parades around in some sparkly outfit or some nights even a santa dress, life of the party as per. Eventually, he'll find his way to you, grinning.]
Heeeeeeeeeeeeey you, are you enjoying the AMbienCE? You BETTER be! Tis the season to enjoy yourself, Babe. I even-
[One of his ears perks up, then swivels, like a radar dish trying to focus in on something. Zulius raises one finger to pause the conversation, lisening, before giggling, clapping his hands together.]
Ohhhhhh my goose, I can't believe I got tea sensing powers for Christmas. I mean, I know I've been a good girl this year, but this is a real treat! [He leans in, steepling his fingers.] You wanna know what argument I JUST heard a street away? Of course you, OBI you do.
[ It may be that you do not, in fact, have a choice to hear the tea.]
Helping around the Doll Kingdom
[Zulius has heard of The Nutcracker. He was a dance major in university, after all. No dancer worth their salt hasn't run The Nutcracker Gauntlet, but it's super different actually living it. He's actively avoided anything to do with children (that is NOT his strong point AT ALL) but decorating? This is something he can do!
At some point, he's managed to get a clipboard from somewhere, and is "helpfully" pointing decorators to their correct area in order to achieve his vision. ]
Hey? HAAY? Did I say "hang that tinsel like it's just had a sloppy makeout with a sad, drunken CLOWN? NO! Come on! Give it some huft! And you! Yeah you, wHAt are you doing with that mistletoe? That is NOT a high-traffic kissing zone! You need to move it over THERE so you're not gonna trip up the dancers! Hey no, don't cry, just get better, kay?
[ Some of them do seem on the verge of carying, you... you can rescue them if you want? Or you can let the chaos reign. ]
Tin Soldiers
[Zulius isn't much of a fighter. Sure, in his past life he fought in the war, but that was different. That wasn't this life. And while he is willing to run into danger to save the people he loves, should they be in trouble, if the stakes are low, he will not fight.
So he's been standing at the sidelines, watching this nonsense with folded arms, thinking at least he might be able to see some hot guys fighting some scrungly little rats. But then the rats start dancing and he realises what this is. A gasp escapes him as he pushes his way to the front. ]
OMG OKAY SHUT UP! It's HAPPENING. My time has come. I've GOT this!!
Wildcard
[Want something else? Lemmie know! ]
Happiness and Cheer
She's currently seated at the bar, having taken a break from dancing--mocktail in hand, since she doesn't need liquid courage to get her out on the dance floor.
She perks up with a wave when she sees Zulius approaching. She was about to reply when he pauses the conversation. At the explanation, she just grins, leaning in.]
Tea sensing powers? Color me almost envious--so, what's the tea?
(no subject)
Happiness and Cheer
[And that means Rose has gotten her present early.]
[Zulius getting tea-sensing powers isn't just a gift to him, it's a gift to everyone. Not the least of whom is Rose. Half of Rose's diet consists of gossip, the other half consists of Shojo manga.]
Oh? I'm certainly interested.

Tin Soldiers
[Oh. OH. Wait a moment, this she has to see!]
YOU GO, QUEEN, show them how it's DONE!!
Ritsuka Fujimaru | Fate/Grand Order | open!
Ritsuka might be going a little wild with her newfound craft skills this Christmas, but that didn't mean she couldn't also enjoy some good browsing of what the market had to offer! And, you know, maybe sampling some of the tasty foods and hot drinks, because who could possibly resist some cookies and hot chocolate?
In any case, if you happen to run into her, she'll almost certainly direct your attention to whatever had currently caught her eye.
"Did you see these??"
[II. Wintery Warfare]
It should probably come as no surprise to anyone who knew her that Ritsuka was reasonably good with kids. It should also come as no surprise that, dragged into a truly massive snowball fight, she was absolutely giving it her all. Whether it was pitching in with the building and throwing, or helping with tactical directions, she was, well, maybe getting a little too into all this.
"There's a weak spot right there, everyone try to aim for it!"
[III. Gift Giving]
And then, of course, was one of the main attractions of the month! Namely, giving people gifts. Whether it was homemade crafts or just some trinket she found at the market, Ritsuka had at least something to give pretty much everyone she considered a friend, and she was determined to make sure the recipients got them.
"Oh, hey, this is for you!"
[IV. CLOSED to Yasuho - Hyrule Hijinx]
"And then when I gave Ereshkigal her hat back, she looked so happy that for a moment I thought she was going to cry."
Thus concluded a retelling of some of the highlights of Ritsuka's recent return to Chaldea. At least until she remembered some other interesting anecdote. But look, at least it was a good way to pass the time as they scoured a particularly remote section of tree-dotted plains for anything of interest, right.
"Uh, but if you ever meet her, don't tell her I told you that."

But while his third eye might give him an advantage over the untrained when it came to throwing accuracy, he also had a significant disadvantage: being six foot ten and hiding in a snow fort built by and for children. When the snowballs flew individually, he was fairly able to track their paths and get himself out of the way, so long as he was paying attention, but there was absolutely nothing he could do about the concerted attack directed from the next fort over. He dodged the first two projectiles, barely, only to be struck in the face by a lucky hit with the third, loose snow lodging itself between his eyes and his glasses. Blinded and still being pelted with more snow, he tried to duck behind the wall and instead felt his foot slip, toppling messily into a nearby snowbank.
Amid cheers and cries of dismay, he sat up, took his glasses off to shake snow out of them, and broke into a good-natured laugh. "Well-played! We'll have you next round!"

oh boy
What does that mean? Don't worry about it.
For now, it's trees, korok searching, and...
"The crying part, you mean? I can't see her being upset about the hat..."

takame kesi | ffxiv oc
[When Takame had the strange dream on the platform again one night, he thought he was just seeing last month’s prophecy again but in a normal dream. It’s happened once or twice, they’re quite vivid and stay in the mind.
He started to think otherwise when as he was going through a standard session of a class and, as he demonstrated a specific sword technique, he noticed a figure of himself appear for a split second. A mirage comprised entirely… of the element of Light.
It disappeared upon touching it and despite the pit that formed in his stomach seeing it he had to tell the class that no that is not in fact something he can teach them right now and proceed as normal.
However, going throughout the rest of the day be it within Cygnus, the Vogue or any of his other usual stomping grounds Takame was acting incredibly off and constantly fidgeting and prodding at the lighter colored scales on his neck compared to the rest of them. Those who know him particularly well will likely be privy to how close he is to a panic episode. Watch that tail.]
ii. fancy festive footwork
[You know Takame was fully ready to throw hands with a bunch of rats. He’s not underestimating anyone scrappy. But when they started dancing instead he wasn’t disappointed necessarily at being shoved into the front basically.
He did tilt his head though just watching the performance rather than mentally preparing to perform himself.]
… Ah? [So when the prompting happens he just kindaaaa looks around at the others.] … Am I supposed to perform as well? I haven’t in quite some time. Hm.
iii. it’s the fighting santa prompt
[It’s The Fighting Santa Prompt.
Either claw Takame’s imprint out of the wall or be part of the pre-fight or the post-fight heals.
Or find him elsewhere, this is your wildcard too.]
i
[While he was going around campus repositioning magic sigils and taking notes on where he'd placed each one, it was hard not to eventually cross paths with his fellow teacher. A glance to that tail told Waver everything he needed to know, and he approached cautiously.]

[Or in the fight against Wrio and her roommate.]
[But, she's here regardless, happy to help and to heal. It's important to Rose that all of her loved ones are happy. And if this makes Takame happy, well...]

iii. after the fight
[One of Vash's friends makes a valiant attempt, though the result is the same as the rest. During one of the breaks, she slips over to see him some time after the healers are done.]
Are you alright?
[Eve is quiet as ever. She rarely approaches Takame when he visits, more often sticking to the background with a book.]

wei wuxian | mdzs
[Wei Wuxian was extremely not going to check out Dragonspine yet, thank you. … Okay he will, he can’t bring himself to let the Black Order alone look into it but right now he’s shopping. Sometimes at your standard stores, interestingly at crafting and art stores specifically at a couple points, but also grocery shopping in the baking section where he might comment a few times to himself.]
We don’t want shizun to cause a city-wide incident with his cookies…
[God forbid Hua Cheng suddenly appears over his shoulder when saying that. Wei Wuxian wouldn’t rule it out, app or not! He can be found at any store though but most notably as well within the Christmas markets watching the self-moving toys curiously.]
It’s gotta be the magic of Christmas making them move, huh? Hahahaha.
[He sees you, old man, but you’re nice and he respects the Cool elderly.]
ii. watchin
[So, Wei Wuxian swore he would never go into that dog infested Fortress unless he really really needed to. But then he heard a bunch of these guys were actually fighting Santa for one but also that Santa was ACTUALLY THERE?
Like come on, who would avoid the chance to see Santa up close? Was Wei Wuxian actually going to fight him, gods no.
Was he going to stand up and wave with both arms to Santa from the stands? Absolutely.]
Santaaaaa--!!! It’s me, Wei Ying!! I’m on the nice list this year too, right?? [you can feel the :D from a distance. Don’t answer that question Santa. Anyway whoever is next to him tell him to shut it.]
iii. thinkin
[[ it’s the wild card option i can’t think of things it’s almost midnight i’m bonpuns everywhere i sleep now ]]
watchin
He turns his head slowly to LOOK and Wei Ying. ]
What are you? Fuckin' five?
Percy "bad Santa" de Rolo | Critical Role
[The Seven Star Mall is bustling with people today, all of them looking to get their Christmas shopping in before Christmas hits. There's a line of small children looking to get a meeting in with Santa, which sounds absolutely fantastic—until you get closer and you hear who's playing Santa right now:]
You don't actually want a castle, it's too much upkeep. Look, setting aside the question of finances, most castles these days are in some semblance of ruin and decay, and besides that they're drafty and often unpleasantly damp. And there are no outlets. What you want is a country house.
[Some poor kid, eyes welling with tears, hops off the chair and marches away. Percy heaves a tired sigh, pinches the bridge of his nose.]
Fine. All right. Castle it is. Oi, do we have one of those princess castle playsets?
[two: break time]
[Thankfully, Percy's shift as Santa doesn't last the entire day, so the second it's done he can be found buying the strongest coffee available at the mall. He adds a little bit of milk and sugar as a treat for himself, then wanders off to look at toys with a curious look in his eye.]
Hm. I might be able to recreate and improve some of these.
[Can't turn engineer brain off even when it's Christmas, it looks like. He takes a sip of his coffee.]
Scratch might, I certainly can.
[three: wild card]
[If the above prompts don't ping you, hit me @ foggytealeafs on Discord and we can hash something out!]
One
So he's gonna wander over, rest his folded arms on the back of Percy's Santa Chair to peer down at him. ]
So. That was a fuckin' trainwreck. Why don't you just tell them you're gonna break into their house and burn down their tree? You might make them miserable faster.
[Is that what you're TRYING to do, Percival? ]
Not used to kids, huh?

Maxima quo Priscus | Final Fantasy XIV | ota
part i - the luxury of frivolity
[Where better to shop for Christmas presents than the Christmas aisle? Maxima is holding a cheap plastic snow globe and examining it with mild wonder and delight.] So many of them...it's amazing to think they can dedicate manufacturing capacity to these temporary things.
part ii - traditional arts
[Of course, he's also taking time to wander his way through the Winter Market. Here, he seems most interested in carved and sculpted crafts, and Drosselmeyer's stand certainly catches his eye as well. He seems deeply perplexed by the way the little dolls walk around.] Gears inside the body, perhaps? But the leverage wouldn't be right...
Snow War
[Watching kids isn't necessarily Maxima's strong suit, but he's already spent so much time decorating the Fortress that he's happy to volunteer for different work. And when it turns out that kids here are just like kids at home when it comes to the games they play, well...this is a man who's well-prepared for the scenario. He's crouched behind a two-foot-high wall of snow that does very little to actually hide his lanky frame, directing a group of a half-dozen children in preparation for the next wave.]
This part here still needs some reinforcement. And make sure the piles of snowballs are evenly spaced so you don't have to go running back for more.
[He looks like he's having the time of his life, actually.]
Wildcard
[He'll be around town and the usual places, come up with another scenario or plot with thornweaver on Discord!]
1 2 3 4 i declare a snow war
[It doesn’t take long for her to find Maxima. The fortress he’s built is nice. The fortress that he is, that’s even nicer.]
Cover me!

Dr. Ratio | Honkai: Star Rail | OTA
[Ratio doesn't come to the mall often, but the gift-giving season is facilitated by some browsing when you're not sure what to buy everyone. And of course he's heard about the periodic commotions around The Statue, but this is the first time he's seen it in person since...well, everything. Now that he knows what it is, it's hard not to notice.
So instead of proceeding into the mall, he's standing outside, staring up at a statue that bears too much resemblance to his colleague to be a coincidence, and thinking about the conversation they had months ago in the depths of a magical library. The crowds of shoppers pass him by, the only unmoving figure aside from the statue itself, lost in melancholy contemplation.]
Helping out
[Being rather tall and having flight-capable wings, Ratio has naturally been selected as one of the people charged with hanging stuff from the ceiling. Contrary to expectations, however, he isn't using either of those features in his efforts.]
Don't be ridiculous - do you know how much space wings of this size need? I'd knock everything down that you've already put up with the wind alone if I tried beating them quickly enough to hover. [At the disappointed response he gets, he sighs.] No, no, I didn't say I wouldn't help. Give me that.
[And without another thought, the decoration is being levitated into place telekinetically. It's that easy.]
Wildcard
[Make something up, drag him into shenanigans, or message me at thornweaver on Discord to plot!]
Crossroads
Um... are you okay, Dr. Ratio? [ He glances back at the statue. ] It's uh... always decorated like that. [He means the nipple tassels. ] My dad's friend does it. It's weird.
