un: zodiac | Happy November!
WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: Libra App
WHEN: November 1st
WHAT: Zodiac Network Post
WARNINGS: None!
[On the night of Halloween, the night seems to grow progressively darker as the Spirit Vein shifts from hues of orange and amber to shades of purple and black. Everyone's devices will emit a soothing wind chime sound as a new Zodiac post appears. The chime will sound even if you have your phone turned off or on silent, and will not stop until you read their messsage and comment to it.]

Belle, Yugo, Zelos, and Roxas have joined the app. Say hi everyone!
[The post then continues on.]
Hello and thank you for using the Libra app.
Happy Halloween, to all the ghouls and goblins out there! We hope you're having a fantastic spooky holiday!
In other news, Zodiac is aware of that there is concern of a Spirit Realm related event similar to last year, and we're currently doing our best to monitor the situation. While we wish to avoid a panic, we'll be doing our best to be prepared. In the event of an emergency, we will be doing our best to fortify Undertown and Cathedral Hill. Barrier spells are also available at our office, should you wish to invest some for your own peace of mind.
That said, we haven't detected any of the yokai from last year in the city, so we are hoping it won't be a repeat of last year. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best- we like to say!
And with that, it's time for our icebreaker question!

Believe me, the music one is necessary. I can tolerate a lot of Christmas music, but even I get tired of hearing certain carols if I have to hear them enough times.
I'm glad to hear it. As a gesture of good will, I will now show you the Christmas emojis:
πβοΈπ§βππ€Άπ π

I never really saw the appeal about using emoji before, I try to avoid it, but...
π
I like this one.
I'll use this one.

[There is something strange and yet so pure about this man's santa love. ]
Haha, glad you like it. Please, enjoy it! γ½(*γ»Ογ»)οΎ

[ sometimes you're just a big quiet guy who finds {1} thing to be passionate about by accident and you don't try to fight it. ]
I will.
It turns out there's a different holiday before Christmas I wasn't aware of, though. Do you know if they allow bonfires on the beach near the harbour?
no subject
[Because yeah. He knows how high his voice is. He knows]
Oh?
Yeah, I don't think that'll be an issue. People make bonfires there sometimes during the summer.
What holiday is it?
no subject
That aside, it's called Martinstag. Varian told me about it.
I love Christmas, but I'm not so insensitive to bowl over other holidays for the one I know the most about. So I'd like to make sure Varian gets to celebrate it properly before it gets lost in everything else.
no subject
.... That's a tempting bet, but I should probably pass. I haven't sung in choir in a few years, so I'm very out of practice.
Varian huh?
[....]
You realize he's probably bringing it up to be ornery about Christmas right? Varian doesn't like most holidays.

[ can you feel it
the dad-energy exuding waves of disappointment upon hearing this
he's a little disheartened?? ]
no subject
I mean... that'd be my guess anyway. He's always complaining about Corona holiday traditions. Especially one with a gopher.
[...He can't take it, not the sad Dad]
But that doesn't mean we can't just celebrate Martinstag anyway! Maybe this one is different for Varian, and I know I'm always happy to experience new holidays.
This time of year is full of different holidays. Wouldn't you say taking the time to appreciate many of the is like sharing the Christmas spirit?
no subject
I wouldn't want to push it on him if he truly isn't interested.
One doesn't have to take part in Christmas things either--I know there are plenty who don't celebrate it.
He mentioned baking the bread for the holiday though. So maybe we can celebrate it for him. If he decides he doesn't like it, We won't push for it again.
But it's fair to give other holidays attention too, I suppose.
[ I GUESS ]

Do you WANT a hundred Christmas trees in the fortress before November is out? Because I'm heroically trying to hold Christmas back with this stupid lantern thing here to stop that from happening.
Private forever
You betrayed yourself. You realize telling Wriothesley a holiday is important to you means you'll have to take part of its CELEBRATIONS, right? You'll be front and center the whole time, with no means to escape socializing.
[No hiding in the basement this time!]
Ohhhh noooo, someone wants to decorate for the holiday about the God I serve a little early!
Do you really think I'm bothered by some Christmas trees?
Besides, for whatever reason, Christmas makes Wriothesley happy. For all he's been through and does for us, don't you think he deserves happiness?
no subject
Jun. Honey. Do you think Wriothesley is doing this for your God? He's not even from here. He probably thinks the God of Christmas is Santa. And it's not a little early, it's one month, three weeks and 3 days early. It already takes over all of December. It can't have November, too.
Ugggghhhh stop appealing to my better nature. That's cheating and unfair. Why can't I be crochety about this?
no subject
So? That doesn't matter. Lots of non-Christians celebrate Christmas. The Lord isn't going to turn people away from the holiday cheer.
Because this is a man who lets you have your own robot army to mess around with? Don't you think you owe him a LITTLE?
no subject
[No birthday sex, Jun! None! ]
And we love and appreciate Him for that, I'm sure. It doesn't change the fact it's too early, though. I mean, you hear about birthday weeks, but birthday two months? C'mon.
Look. LOOK. I can owe him this IN DECEMBER. That's fair and normal. It just doesn't need to be literally the first day in November. He keeps this concentrated in the correct month? I will not complain.
Out loud.
Because of the robot army.
And the free rent.
...And I guess because he's a really nice guy who deserves nice things.
no subject
It'd be too bad though, I was looking forward to that birthday cake....
[Ruthless]
C'mon Varian, it's just a few early decorations to make the Duke happy. Surely that's better than pretending you're invested in Martinstag for the rest of our long lives.
no subject
...You are soul crushingly good at this. You monster. Well played. I hope you're pleased with yourself. I've put a lot of planning and effort into you birthday already, I don't want that to go to waste.
...I realise now that he's also got an extended life span. I don't think I can commit to this for that long.
Fiiiine. I'll learn to live with them. Happy?
no subject
Mm, at least I think he might- he's got an energy reading that's not human. I don't think he's noticed it yet himself though. Not sure we should tell him or not.
Very happy. In return, I won't put any Christmas decorations up in my room until December 1st. Sound fair?
no subject
Yeah, normally, I'd say we should tell him in case he starts a relationship with someone he's blatantly gonna outlive, because it's only fair. But given who he's dating, I don't think that's gonna be an issue.
Deal. Im probably gonna have to live with this holiday too. I don't wanna make The Duke sad. It'd be like kicking a puppy.
no subject
Mm, that's what I'm thinking. I wouldn't know what I'd really say to him anyway to make it go easier.
[He's many things, but emotionally intelligent he is not]
Yeah, that's called consequences for your actions. It could be fun though! I've never done Martinstag before.
no subject
Yeah, I don't think there's any gentle way you can put "by the way, you're stuck with this for an undetermined about of time but definitely longer than a human being should exist for" - like that will be rough for anyone to digest.
[ Varian's slightly better at it, but probably not enough for THIS. ]
I don't like them. But as holidays go, this one isn't actually that bad. There's a lantern parade and then everyone gathers around a bonfire and eats food. It's pretty minimal in the social expectations, really.
no subject
[He never wanted immortality. He's seen what it can do to people. Only the idea that he had someone there with him did it make him not spurn it away entirely]
That sounds pretty nice actually. We could enjoy the bonfire and then slip away when we have our fill of the party.
no subject
[ It was getting a family and a life here he didn't want to lose that made that all... much easier to live with. ]
See? And it's at night, so a lot harder to see people when they do decide to just slip away. I picked a not-awful one if we're gonna be stuck with it.
no subject
[He get it, if Varian still felt that way. It's not easy to let go of home.]
That's very clever of you.
