September Event Log

September Event Log
Dominant Element: Wind
Waning Element: Earth
Full Moon: September 16th - September 18th
※
As the absolutely wild summer months leave Kaisou behind, the cooler and hopefully less chaotic September takes their place. The Spirit Vein turns shades of green as the elemental alignment shifts more towards wind, with the weather getting windier to match. Hold on to your hats and small-and-easily-blown-away pets!
Up in the AirWith Labor Day weekend, comes the end of the summer and the transition in to fall. Seemingly overnight, pumpkin spiced products appear on store shelves across the city. Everything from the classic Pumpkin Spiced lattes, to pumpkin spiced cookies, to the much more unorthodox pumpkin spiced salmon? Besides the annual Pumpkin Spiced explosion, students will be heading back to the classroom now - ready to start another year of high school or college. After the wild summer it's been, no doubt many of them are looking forward to a mundane life at school.
Amongst all the expected back-to-school advertisements and specials, you might hear talk of a festival coming to Kaisou for the first time. No, this one is not run by yokai, don't worry. The International Hot Air Balloon Aficionado Association has chosen the area just outside of the city to host their annual Balloon Fest. Starting on September 7th and going through until the 14th, the Association will be in Kaisou. There will be demonstrations, lessons, and even some people offering tethered rides to the residents of the city. On the morning of the 14th, you can wake up early and watch as nearly a hundred hot air balloons take flight.
Crime (Shouldn't) PayIn the darker, seedier parts of the city rumors have begun to take hold. Word is getting out that the Black Order, the supernatural world's boogeyman for centuries, has fallen. There's a whole myriad of reactions: disbelief, shock, confusion, relief, and concern. But one thing is clear: there's no more fear of the Order appearing to seal or cart you away if you get on their bad side.
Almost as soon as the rumors start, so does the increase in crime. It's nothing big yet, with most of it being petty crimes, but it's impossible to miss the spike in supernaturally-based crimes. Robberies without any sign of a break-in, graffiti that resists clean-up, and other such small-time crimes become the topic of gossip in Undertown with several merchants complaining about being victims. There's talk of working to beef up their magical security, but really... how much longer will that work? How long until someone tries to do something worse?
Return to the FarmOn the morning of September 5th, Zodiac will send out a message to everyone on the Libra app.
ALERT: ASSISTANCE REQUESTED IN STARDEW VALLEY
Dominant Element: Wind
Danger Level: Low
Designation: Stardew Valley
Zodiac has received a request for aid from Stardew Valley. Those who wish to help, please enter through the stable gate via train from Central Square. The dispatched Zodiac liaisons will explain the situation there.
Those of you who decide to help (or those of you who work for Zodiac and aren't given much of a choice in the matter) can meet up in Central Square. Sure enough, the same Zodiac employees you've been working with will be there, having once again been assigned to another field mission. They were told that the owner of the fishing shop in Stardew Valley, Willy, has contacted Zodiac to ask for some assistance. Past that... they don't know much more than you do. But the train to Stardew Valley will be waiting to take you into the idyllic realm, so it'd be good to get aboard.
When you arrive in the valley, you'll see that the town has also shifted into the autumn season, with beautiful autumn colors on full display. But you're not here to look at trees. At the train station, you're met by two people: Willy, the familiar fisherman of Stardew Valley, and another equally crusty looking fisherman. Willy will introduce the other fisherman as Wataru to everyone and explain the problem. You see, if you ever take a short boat trip from Stardew, you'll reach Coral Island, an island that's home to another farming community called Starlet Town. Well lately, it seems some strange, otherworldly pollution has started to cause problems there, damaging the local ecosystem. They reached out to Pelican Town for help, who in turn reached out to the folks of Zodiac. You guys were so helpful and seem to know a lot about the otherworldly stuff, after all.
So, it's down to the docks and onto the boats with everyone. As you approach the island, you're greeted with pristine waters and shining beaches... being absolutely covered in strange, black, slimy twisted roots. It's starting to leak onto the land itself, staining the beaches. This is going to be a problem.
As you dock, you're met by the mayor and the local scientist. They're so relieved to see you and waste no time in filling you in on what they've learned. The pollution seems to be coming from an abandoned building in the middle of town that used to belong to your typical polluting mega-corp, but it's not the normal sort of pollution. "It's almost alive," Ling explain. "Like...slimes monsters, almost." No one here is able to handle it, so it'll be up to you. But you won't be going in completely unarmed, as they pass out vaccuum cannons that can be used to either suck things up, or shoot things out.
Now arm, it's time to investigate. Whether you head to the building they mentioned, or out to the beach- it'll be easy to find the the sludge. Closer inspection of the roots and sludge reveal that there are, in fact, slimes monsters spreading the tarr. Tarr slimes, a monster made of pure slime and tar. They have managed to get into this realm, their tar mixing with the ocean around Coral Island to form the pollution. They're rather dangerous too, as they will lunge and attack anyone they see- even grabbing people with tar to try to drag them into their massive jaws.
High-pressure water (the vacuum cannon will have a setting for this, handy!) will do a lot to get the tar off the land. Within the abandoned building, you'll find a dimensional tear where many of these tarr slimes are coming from. Ask a nearby Zodiac employee (if they aren't available, a newly unemployed Black Order member will do too) to do the magical ritual that'll seal it up, and it will help put a cap on the land issue. However, it doesn't seem to do anything to the roots in the water. Time to go diving, either with the suits loaned to you by Starlet Town or your own powers.
Under the SeaAs you dive under, you're met with so much trash and weird goopy roots that it's almost difficult to move. As you clear out the trash (and tarr slimes, they are everywhere), though, you'll find strange monuments that hum with magic. Touch them, and a pulse of energy goes out, clearing out any slimes you may have missed. They won't form again, either, so it's safe to move on.
Dive deeper into the ocean, clearing out the slimes and activating the monuments and eventually you will be met with several merfolk. You're asked to stay put while one of them fetches their king so you can explain yourselves to him. Upon doing that (and showing that you've cleaned out the pollution from the rest of the ocean), you're welcomed into their kingdom and regions of the ocean beyond.
As you swim through the kingdom, you might notice a tree made of coral. It, too, is covered in the pollution, and if you ask about it the merfolk will say that their Coral Tree is usually capable of keeping the oceans free of this sort of pollution. With all the slimes, however, it's all the tree can do to keep the kingdom itself clean. Hopefully, if you're able to clear out more of the ocean they can heal the tree.
It'll take some time and cooperation between the folks under the sea and the ones who stayed on land, clearing trash and slimes and finding dimensional in the world the slimes are coming from (which, for anyone with magical sensing, might notice whiffs of...fae magic? Strange.) and closing them up, but it can be done! Once the ocean is mostly clean, the merfolk are able to restore their tree and purify the rest of the island. Congratulations! The residents of Coral Island are delighted and have decided it's time to celebrate with a party!
That is, once you take care of one more problem. With the dangerous tarr slimes gone, you'll realize those aren't the only slimes to have gotten through the tears. Smaller, cuter slimes are now roaming around the island. They aren't causing any pollution, nor are they hostile to anyone- but there's a lot of them and they like to eat a lot. But instead of writing them off as a new pest to take out, people notice that whenever they do eat something, they create magical gemstones. Realizing this could be a golden opportunity for both Starlet Town and Pelican town to profit, a new plan is devised. They ask you to use that vacuum cannon to suck up the small slimes (who are perfectly unharmed by this), and bring them to ranches in both towns so they can get started on a whole new kind of farming.
Now it's time to party.
[OOC Note: Coral Island is now an accessible location in the Stardew Valley realm! In addition, Pink, Tabby and Phosphor slimes are now available to ranch in Stardew Valley OR keep as pets! Other slime breeds will be available to unlock in gacha goodwill]
The Missing ResearchersWhile some folks are off helping out with the slime problem in Stardew Valley, the folks who choose to remain in Kaisou will be alerted to another problem. You see, over Labor Day weekend, several members of POKEGO had went on a camping expedition in the Kanto realm. It's hardly the first time the group has done that, and in fact it's pretty routine that teams will go into the realm to either study the Pokemon or map out the realm.
However, what's not so routine is that they are now well past the planned return date... and there hasn't been any sign of the group. They aren't back in the city, nor are they responding to any attempts to contact them. Not only is this pretty out-of-character for these expeditions... but it's even more worrying considering the group had some well known capable people with them. Clearly, something must have gone wrong.
So it's time to grab some supplies, get your sniffer dogs ready, and head into the Kanto realm to search for them. For the most part, the realm looks the same as ever: lush nature that's filled with various kinds of wild Pokemon. If there's one difference, it's that there's a lot more berries and fruit to be around. It all looks really tempting to eat, especially if you forgot to pack your own food for the trek.
Should you give into temptation and eat some, you'll find it tastes delicious. But that sweet taste? Will have a bitter consequence, as you'll find yourself turning into a Pokemon. For some it'll happen all at once, and others it'll happen slowly over time- but the end result is the same. While you'll still have your mind intact and can communicate with others, you'll be unable to use any of your powers- instead stuck with abilities normally found in whatever kind of Pokemon you turned into. Is this what happened to the expedition team? Surely not-- while it's believable a few of them would brave eating fruit they found, it's hard to think all of them would be that reckless.
With the right tracking methods, it should be easy to pick up on the group's trail as they headed westward. Everything about their tracks will appear perfectly normal (besides the burnt tent remains in one of the camp sites), so probably someone was wise enough to stop them from eating the strange berries. Eventually, the trail will lead to a previously undiscovered land bridge- leading to a whole new region of land. There's a rusty sign, with the words "Welcome to Johto!" written on it. And all signs indicate that the missing group? Must've let their curiosity get the better of them, as they all crossed the land bridge.
Johto RegionAs you cross into the Johto region, you'll find another Pokemon filled land that's been abandoned. However unlike the Kanto region where most of the signs of previous human life lies in utter ruin, a lot of the infrastructure here is... much more intact. There are roads that are still usable, and many of the buildings look like they only needs some basic upkeep rather than to be condemned. If anyone wanted to start living in this realm, it'd be much easier to get a start here.
However, you aren't going to be given much time to explore. A few miles into the Johto region, and you'll start to sense that you aren't the only humanoid beings here. But before you can get a chance to sense who it is, a whole squad of Fae ambush you from the overgrown shrubbery. They attack quickly, throwing curses at any person in their direct line of sight. If you get hit by a curse, you'll feel yourself transforming into a Pokemon right before you're struck with a pokeball- sucking you inside. If you're extremely lucky, you'll manage to escape.... leaving you stranded in the Pokemon wilderness without your group. The fae run off as quick as they appeared, so you'll have to be quick if you want to follow after them.
As for those captured... you'll be stuck in that pokeball for awhile (though, luckily, it's surprisingly comfortable and a great napping spot). After a long time, the pokeball will open up and you'll stumble out into what appears to be a Pokemon ranch. With you are all of your other companions who got captured... as well as that lost POKEGO group. All of them have been turned into Pokemon.
You can ask around what's going on, but all you really need to do is look up to see a massive banner that reads: Welcome Competitors to the 1st Annual Pokéathlon!
Seems like the Fae are going to make you go through more bullshit, yet again.
[OOC Note: Characters can be any kind of Pokemon that isn't a legendary. If the chosen Pokemon type is more than 7 feet, they are shrunk down to that size. They cannot access any of their canon/kaisou powers in this form, but they will have access to 4 Pokemon abilities free of charge for the plot. These abilities need to be ones your chosen Pokemon type learns by leveling. Comment here with your chosen Pokemon type and abilities. ]
The PokéathlonAsking either the POKEGO members or the Fae will get you the same basic explanation: this group of Fae broke off from the Seelie Courts and decided to find their own realm. They liked it quite a lot, and got really excited when they found records that back when this area was inhabited, the locals would hold a "Pokéathlon" where Pokemon would do competitions. Which really, sounded quite exciting! However, many of the Fae had misgivings towards roping the wild Pokemon into these challenges since they were just innocent animals... so they found a much less cruel solution of kidnapping humans, turning them into Pokemon, and making them compete! Those magical berries? Also their doing!
The Fae promise up and down that if you take part in the Pokéathlon and put in honest effort, they will happily turn you back to normal once it's over. They'll even clear out, so you don't have to deal with them again! Though, their concessions are possibly less than reassuring, as it's also made clear that if you refuse to cooperate or try to attack them, they'll just leave you as a Pokemon forever.
In other words, if you hope to ever have opposable thumbs again? You best get ready to compete.
There's any number of competitions that you can take part of, since the Pokéathlon truly is a big event. As long as you participate in at least a couple, it'll satisfy the Fae captors.
The events are:
- Beauty Pageant: A classic animal beauty pageant. The fae will help the Pokemon characters get groomed and dolled up into what they feel are cute looks. You will then get paraded onto a stage to show off how cute or pretty you are. There's also some basic contests, such as doing some kind of dance or answering questions about complicated topics within 1 minute. You know, usual pageant stuff!
- Magikarp Jump: Don't worry, you don't have to be a magikarp to participate! You just have to have to have the spirit of one. In this competition, you're expected to jump as high as you can, without using any kinds of feet or arms. Basically, you have to flop around like a fish. Be careful about jumping too high though, as there's always a risk of a Pidgey swooping in and grabbing you.
- Clefairy Says: Is a Pokemon version of Simon Says, with a Clefairy giving increasingly complicated commands. Should you fail to follow, you will get hit with a hammer. This will continue until you get hit enough to pass out or plead for mercy. Why was this okayed?
- Battle Tournaments: A classic Pokemon battle. You'll be up against either Pokemon you are assigned to fight, or you have challenged to a fight. Unable to use your own abilities, you are limited to whatever 4 Pokemon powers you were given when you were transformed. There is a second arena area that was opened up very quickly after they realize they got a hold of the Sparda brothers.
- Races: A series of races that take place either on a track, or through the wilderness of Johto. To make things interesting, there's been things like hurdles and obstacles that you have to dodge out of the way of. And if you're racing in the wild, there's always a chance a wild Pokemon will come out of nowhere and attack you. That's fun.
- Block Smash:: Possibly the challenge that brings the most stress relief. You are placed in an area with blocks of various materials and asked to smash as many as you can within a time limit. Get out all your aggression towards the fae here.
At the end of each event, they'll hold an award ceremony where they will hand out medals based on everyone's performance. Some of the results are straight forward, while others are judged on basically whatever random thing the fae deem as important. Anyone who does manage to get the top three spots will be rewards with a bronze, silver or gold medal- and some extra berries to enjoy. Just what you wanted, huh.
Once the Pokéathlon concludes and all the award ceremonies are completed, the Fae will remain true to their word and return everyone cursed back to their previous forms.... right before bailing out with a portal before any of you can get at them. Most everyone has been returned to normal, though it seems while in the Kanto-Johto realm, they'll still be able to shift into their Pokemon form if they wish. That's probably nothing to worry about, right?
Now it's time to head back home to Kaisou. It's been a rather busy month, with two of the stable realms having their own problems. Yet considering the last couple months, there's something nice about dealing with some lower stakes.
The dominant element this month is Wind! Anyone with an affinity to the wind element will find themselves boosted throughout the month. This could mean a boost to their power, having more energy, feeling more inspired with creativity, having better luck on different attempts -- the boost can manifest in all sorts of different ways. By contrast, anyone with an affinity for Earth will be experiencing the opposite. Perhaps their powers will be weaker, they have less energy, they're having a creative block or general worse luck - again it can manifest in all sorts of way and players are free to play with this mechanic as they'd like.
After this plot, characters will be able to access their Pokemon form free of charge while in the Kanto-Johto realm. Characters that missed out on the Fae may gain a Pokemon form by consuming the cursed berries left in the Kanto area. Should you wish to access your Pokemon form outside of Kanto, you can purchase it (or aspects of it) using regains. Pokemon-related purchase prices can be found on the Elemental Regain page under monsters.
The original OOC plotting post for this event can be found here. There will be a midmonth Zodiac post on the 15th.

Beredvyn of Nal (Meredith Nelson) | OC | open!
It really shouldn't have been a surprise when Meredith noticed that only was one of her friends who'd gone on the camping trip overdue to return, but wasn't responding to messages. Here in Kaisou that sort of thing probably ought to be expected. But surprise or no, her friend (and a bunch of other people) was possibly in danger, or at least in need of help, so she packed up all the supplies and equipment she could think of into her storage space and magic backpack, and joined up with the rest the group heading through the Kanto gate.
"Please tell me we at least have some idea where to start looking?"
Then there's the matter of those berries. And while Meredith had been sure to pack plenty of dried and canned foods, she certainly wasn't about to blame anyone for wanting to have some fresh fruit instead.
At least, until some people start turning into assorted critters.
"... Okay, anyone else need food, let me know, I have plenty."
[II. Fae Affairs]
"I swear if I ever get turned back I'm not complaining about those stupid furry paws for feet again."
A beat.
"Well, I won't complain as much, at least."
[III. I Challenge You!]
Of course, Meredith was participating in the battles. This should surprise absolutely no one who even remotely knew her. In fact, if she were completely honestly, the idea kind of excited her, even if it didn't excuse the whole being captured and turned into some weird animal thing. So whoever she was up against, she was ready to give it her all.
"Let's both do our best, alright?"
Win, lose, this promised to actually be fun.
[IV. To the Races]
The races seemed like an easy enough event to participate in. Just dodge a few obstacles and generally try to finish the course as fast as possible. Nice and simple and straightfroward, right?
Or so Meredith thought.
"What do you mean it doesn't count if I just fly over them, you're the ones who turned me into some kind of bird in the first place!"
Someone might need to stop her from getting into an argument with the fae...

IV. To the Races
"Frankly, I'm quite in agreement," he added in a sour tone of voice. "Granted that flight would give us an unfair advantage over others in terms of speed, but would it not have made more sense to develop an aerial obstacle course as well? From what I've gathered, it's hardly a rare ability."

Ritsuka Fujimaru | Fate/Grand Order | open!
Sometimes, things had been so stressful and you'd been pushing yourself so hard that your friends staged an intervention insisting you take a break.
And then confiscated your phone to make sure that you couldn't get pulled into too much nonsense.
All of which meant that, at least for the very first few days of the month, Ritsuka was shockingly offline. She could still be found around town and such at the usual places, but attempts to reach her by phone or app were met with a pre-recorded message directing one to leave a message, or if it's urgent contact one of her friends who knew where to find her.
That said, that didn't mean she was exactly thrilled about it even if she did need a break, so there was a good chance of finding her reaching for a phone that wasn't there out of habit, or maybe grumbling to herself.
"She better not be missing any of my dailies..."
[II. Slime Fighting]
Okay, so maybe this wasn't entirely a vacation, but it was still as close to it as Kaisou was likely to get, right? And at least, while there was pretty much no stopping Ritsuka from helping dealing with the tarrs, compared to the everything that the last year had been, this was almost as low-risk as one could like.
"Haha, got it!!"
Not to mention, playing with high-powered jets of water was just plain fun.
[IIa. New Perspective - CLOSED to Edward]
On the other hand, this being the spirit realm meant that it was sometimes just easier to spend time in her monster form, especially when she was feeling tired. So waking up as a three-tailed, winged fox was not, in itself, unusual, even if she couldn't remember exactly whether she'd actually gone to bed that way or not. But on this particular morning, there was definitely something... different. And frankly rather disorienting.
Which was why after several minutes of confused blinking and looking this way and that, Ritsuka sought out her pirate friend she'd come here with.
"Hey, Edward? Can you check something for me? I mean I guess I could find a mirror but..."
[III. Underwater Cleanup]
Then there was the discovery that, of all things, there was a need to clean up underwater too. Great.
Or actually, as far as Ritsuka was concerned, great! She still had that nifty magic cloak, after all, and this was a perfect excuse to make more use of it. (And if she's still banned from her phone anyway then why not spend lots of time underwater?) So whether in human or vulpine monster form, she could often be found swimming about, using the cloak's magical tentacles to pry off sludge or grab trash to teleport off and dispose of.
That and, you know, maybe sometimes just swimming around for the fun of it. At least she made an effort to try not to be around anyone else if she shook herself off to dry when soaked in monster form?
[IV. CLOSED to Waver and Diarmuid]
Ritsuka stopping by for a visit (or simply inviting herself over) wasn't a particularly uncommon occurrence. Even when there hadn't recently been fae kidnappings--that she only learned of after the fact--she simply liked spending time with the people she cared about. And if those people felt the same, well, all the better!
So really, there wasn't anything especially odd about this visit in particular. Oh, Ritsuka had wanted to make sure everyone she knew was okay after that fae thing, but that was to be expected. But for once, she certainly hadn't seemed like she had anything too big on her mind when she asked a question:
"You guys are all recovered from last month too, right?"
[Wildcard/POKEMON]

He has just enough sense, right now, to know that this would be a far costlier action than staying right here and making sure Ritsuka doesn't also do something like that. So instead: slimes.
He catches sight of Ritsuka, then blinks at her. Then: "Is that another eye, lass?"

Knuckles the Echidna | Sonic the Hedgehog (movie-verse) | Open!
Knuckles had never 'fit in' well from the start, tending to keep to himself and clashing with others' sensibilities more often than not, but he at least managed to get by and more or less keep himself busy. Made an effort to try to find productive ways to occupy himself, that sort of thing.
Following the confrontation in Asgard, however, the echidna had been... in a mood, to say the least. Almost never bothering to even check the network, rarely spending much time around town. And when he was, well. More often than not he was accompanied by a highly localized little storm cloud hovering above his head.
Sometimes it even rained!
Do you bother the grumpy kid?
[II. The Training Never Ends]
Still, even Knuckles couldn't be moody all the time. Especially given that, while he still found himself unable to channel the power he'd always used before, in the last few months he'd found he'd somehow acquired some new ones. Which meant that, first, he needed to learn how to use them, and second, he needed to figure out how to utilize them well.
So if you happened to be out in the woods at the park, you might just come across the echidna training, whether using his own purpose-built obstacle course, or simply experimenting and practicing with various powers. Of course, it's all on you if you interrupt him or get in his way, Knuckles saw no reason to apologize to such hapless interlopers. Just hope that it's only water that you might get doused with rather than a burst of ink...

Just to see Knuckles under it. Habitually he adjusted his clothes, bringing the light cardigan he wore today to more suitably cover the awful scar Kirei gave him last month. As much as Waver said he should tell his loved ones, Knuckles was a child and now was clearly not a good place to address it if he's so moody.
Either way, he approached once covered better.]

Jun Nightroad | Tokyo Xanadu | mostly OTA
[The ambush on POKEGO had come rather quickly, with Jun getting knocked out before he had enough time to warn the group of the presences he was suddenly sensing. When he woke up, it was disorienting to wake up in an entirely different form. Sure, he was used to be being a carbuncle, but...
The other POKEGO members can see a Sylveon sitting there, with a thousand yard stare of horror as something sinks in]
I think I can feel my ribbons.
[What the fuuuuuuck]
II. The Corral (OTA)
[By the time the "rescue party" arrives, Jun has managed to adapt more to the new form, even if this whole situation is a little humiliating.
Not that he'll admit that. Instead when a new "Pokemon" sees Jun, they will see a Sylveon calmly sitting and swishing his tail as he stares at them calmly]
So. What're you in for?
[Jun please]
III. Races (OTA)
[Of course, Jun has no interest in being stuck as a Sylveon forever, so he'll comply with the Fae's demands. The races seem like the most up his alley. He's at the starting line, trying to stretch his legs before he nods to the pokemon next to him]
Good luck to you out there!
IV. Wildcard (OTA)

If a haunted sword could look disgruntled, Bailey certainly does. She slowly, awkwardly dusts herself off with her teal and mint green tassel, pretending she didn't nearly make a fool of herself there.

noctis lucis caelum | final fantasy xv
[There's a problem with being cursed into being a Pokemon who is notorious for sleeping all the time when you're already naturally inclined to take naps. That problem is that as a Komala, Noctis is downright impossible to awaken unless you're very very good at it, which presents a few problems for his participation in the Pokeathlon. These problems, however, can be easily surmounted if you have Pokemon yourself! Very smart and very resourceful Pokemon who—okay no they're Weekend at Bernie's-ing this. Fluvius the Oshawott and Fulgur the Pikachu are very tightly glued to Noctis's sides and are wearing bright little grins that say Everything Is Just Fine and Noct's not, like, passed the fuck out, and those seemingly open eyes aren't just painted on.
The Komala between them lets out a soft little snore.
The grins get a little bit brighter.]
"Oshaaaa-wott." [Everything's fiiiine.
They set off on their great race, the three of them. (Well, four, technically, but Litus, that beautiful little Spheal, seems to completely buy what her fellows are desperately trying to sell here.) Every so often, you might come across Fulgur attempting to push Noctis over a hairy-looking bump and grumbling pika pika pika, or Fluvius taking aim and firing a Water Gun that launches his sleeping currently-Komala trainer off into the distance, before frantically running after him shrieking oshawott!! all the way.
These poor, adorable little bastards. At least after this Noctis will give them so much fish.]
[two: beauty pageant]
[At least for this one Noctis is awake! But he looks deeply, horribly awkward backstage, uncomfortable in the snazzy, glittery tuxedo they stuck him in and waving his hand around every so often, before letting out a tired sigh.]
If I knew I was going to be in a beauty pageant this month, I would've brought my Tengen Uzui outfit along. [He pats down the tuxedo with a rueful look.] This kinda itches.

And the next time that drowsing komala got launched? There was now a pidgeotto suddenly swooping down to try to grab him.

Varian | Tangled | OTA
[This is the second time in Varian's life that he's been actually kidnapped and the third time he's been cursed by the fae. This is, frankly, an annoyance he could be doing without. Largely because this was supposed to be a weekend camping trip and he's got STUFF to do. So you will find a distressed-looking zigzagoon pacing about on his tiny legs. ]
I can't believe this is happening the week university starts. I am gonna look like the laziest student ever, missing out the first classes. I mean, who's even gonna believe this? Freaking no one. All that work to get my grade point average to look amazing and now this.
[Some people might be more worried about being literally kidnapped and being cursed, but Varian isn't most people. ]
Block smash
[ Varian is a few centuries behind the concept of rage rooms- honestly if they had existed in his time, he might have done way fewer crimes than he actually did. As is though, he can now get rid of some of his stress, attacking the absolute shit out of all the boxes around.
He's super fine thanks for asking. ]

[Dan Heng has found himself turned into a Dragonair due to the curse. Of all the Pokemon to be turned into... he has to begrudgingly admit it's fitting. It won't stop him from being mildly annoyed by the situation, though. After checking on his fellow POKEGO inmates and boyfriend, he's coiled up in the sun to await whatever the hell the fey decide to do with them. It's not like they can do much of anything at the moment.
On seeing the new people get unceremoniously tossed into the corral, part of him is very worried that a certain someone got caught as well. Still, he slithers over to check on the newcomers.]
Other than pride, was anyone injured?
B: Pokéathlon
[It's a bit difficult to do some of these without opposable thumbs or arms, but Dan Heng's going to put his best effort into it. One can find him getting prepared for the Pageant by the fey putting on different hats and ribbons. He looks... disgruntled by the whole process. Enough so that his tail is swishing like an unhappy cat.
Dan Heng can also be found at the Battle Tournament as a participant. He's not exactly used to this body, but everyone's relatively on the same playing field with that. So this should be fun and not deadly! H-hopefully.
Lastly, he can be seen participating in Block Smash by using his tail to get out some pent up feelings. He's... really pulverizing the blocks, after all. It's kind of scary to see him cutting clean through a huge stack of them in one go with just his tail.]
C: Wildcard!

Dr. Veritas Ratio | Honkai: Star Rail | OTA
[Some people whose well-being Ratio cares about vanished on a camping trip, so he decided he's now well-equipped enough to go investigate. Unfortunately, he's also smart enough to know that eating just one tasty-looking berry is really unlikely to kill you, especially if the berry is as sweet as it looks.
So now he's a Noctowl. Once he's been let out of the Pokeball, he sits broodingly in the corner of the holding area, grumbling to himself.]
I suppose it's my error, that I haven't started accounting for situations which operate on fairy tale logic.
ii. Pageantry
[The whole situation is ludicrous, of course, but complaining alone isn't going to restore him to human shape. He's reluctantly allowed the fae to decorate him with a monocle, top hat, and necktie, but it would seem that the tweed capelet they're trying to fasten around his ...shoulders? is a bridge too far.]
No, no, I won't have my movement restricted. [He flutters his wings in emphasis.] I've only just got used to being able to fly, I won't be kept from it.
[From the way they're closing in around him, it seems like they're willing to force the issue if no better options are offered.]
iii. Clefairy Says!
[Finally a situation he feels comfortable in: a chance to show off his memory and intelligence. Surely he'll be able to perform well at this.
Except that two rounds in, he realizes he's not accustomed enough to balancing on claws while he moves his wide wingspan in time with the directions, and ends up stumbling over. Bonk!]
Do you mind?!
iv. Wildcard
[Come up with something else here, or message me on discord @ thornweaver if you want to plot!]

And that's why there is a... probably irritated (it's even harder to tell like this) Honedge floating nearby.]
It... could be worse, probably. [Bailey tips themself forward until they're floating horizontally, as if somewhat deliberately faceplanting.] I have to keep telling myself it could, at least.

Hermes | Stray Gods | ota
[Hermes is lost. This is new. New and a little baffling to them, to be honest. God of Doorways, Pathways, Etc, as they like to say. They told Persephone they'd be fine. They had GPS on the phone! It's fine, they're fine, everything is fine.]
[Except they're pretty sure they've been wandering around the same block for about ten minutes without... actually getting anywhere. At least, they think so. That store looks familiar, anyway. Yeah, they're going to have to ask someone for help -]
Heyyyy... so uh. You come around here a lot?
[They are not, in fact, trying to be suave. They're asking for directions. Please help them.]
2) 🪽 MISSING RESEARCHERS
[Hermes loves to help. They're helpful by default, by nature. And this is probably a good opportunity to pitch in, now that they're really not sure what to do with themselves. Maybe they should be a hiker! Or a rescuer! Or...]
Man, this is like camping without the s'mores huh?
[... or not. They don't mind the hike. Or the searching. They have too much restless energy as a rule to really mind clomping around the wilderness. It's good exercise! But their attention span...]
Okay, bad timing. Sorry. But like - do people just? Disappear a lot? Here?
[Apologies to whomever they might be searching with.]
3) 🪽 POKEMON TIME
[Okay, so at first, they panicked. Why wouldn't they panic? Suddenly, they aren't a person, they're... something else. They kind of like the color scheme though, but that's beside the point entirely. For a good while, they're frozen in place, legs braced, unwilling to take a single step, and making a...]
[That sure is a sound they're making. Listen, they're not an Idol who can transform into things, this is new and weird and kind of creepy? Why this.]
This is fine! Really fine!
[Or maybe later, when they've adjusted, they're absolutely going to be bounding around, doggy smiles and wagging tail. Maybe even try a RACE or two.]
Okay - okay, this is super weird, but also kind of awesome? Let's go!
((ooc: Open to just about anything! The first prompt is for literally anywhere in the city, too.))
1 - Realized if I don't tag the god of travel with the map lover I've failed- (Also, linking art,)
The Seasonal Aspect is waiting for the 22nd with a baseball bat.To that end though, while the weather's still hot, she's enjoying a parfait at a café patio. With ample time to watch. Uh.
Oh, oh they're coming over here-] Uh....
[She'll be so relieved to hear it's not flirting but for now, she's very much pulling off the deer-in-the-headlights look. Her laptop screen seems to glitch into a pink map as it beeps in mirrored confusion.] ...YYyyyyes..?

CinderAce D. Portgas | One Piece | OTA!
[Well, this has been weird. As someone exposed to the supernatural world when he was a kid, he should be used to unexplained things happening, but being turned into a four foot tall anthropomorphic rabbit is a little new.
However, he seems to be making the most of this turn of events, as evidenced by the sheer explosion of energy coming from the Cinderace in a cowboy hat that can be seen practically bouncing all over the ranch they've all been deposited in.
Perhaps he's blurting out a quick, excited apology after nearly bowling you over running laps, or has kicked a fiery pebble in your direction with a slightly frantic "Heads up!!", or has done what no fire bunny should honestly be able to do - and that's, with a quick little hop, flung himself way too high into the air before coming down elbow first about ten, fifteen seconds later and bouncing off the ground before landing on his feet completely unharmed.
Or hey, maybe you've just come across this Cinderace lounging in the grass, arms behind his head, cowboy hat half covering his face, one leg crossed over the bent other, foot tapping in time with the tune he's humming to himself, seemingly content with this current kidnapping predicament.]
2. This is a normal level of enthusiasm, I swear
[Ever the competitive type, Ace can be found in a number of the challenges set up by the fae!
There's something just fitting about taking part in a race in this form. After all, rabbits are known to be fast, right? That's what that fable is all about, right?? Either way, Ace can be either found at the beginning of the race hopping from one foot to the other, grinning wide with a wild look in his eye. Or, he can be run into in the midst of the race, truly embodying the spirit of the tortoise and the hare by taking a moment to take in the scenery or just generally getting distracted by something shiny on the side of the road.
The block smash is no different, honestly. Ace is full of energy and determination, and if he's a little too into trying to explode the various blocks around him with increasingly frantic kicks of his little fire rocks... that's probably all in the spirit of the game, right?
Now... the main event. The tournament. Woe unto the person who gives in to this rabbit's enthusiasm. Because he sure is going up to every single pokemon he sees, getting way too up in their face as he grins and very excitedly asks if they want to battle him.]
3. Wildcard
ooc; hmu if you have any questions or ideas, or just smack me with a random other prompt! I'm honestly down for anything :3c
Yasuho Hirose | JJBA: JoJolion | OTA!
[Well, there's something to be said about committing to a search and rescue. She'd sort of hoped to ask people about if they found anything new in Kanto after this outgoing mission, but when they fail to return at all with no sign of contact it's...worrying. And fortunately she isn't the only one to find it worrying, or she'd have to go out there alone, which. Well that's just not smart at all.
But here she is! With...well, really anyone else who happened to go through the gate at the same time she did.] So if we need anything to eat, I actually stocked up some food in my teapot- and it'll be really great if we need to camp out he-
[Unsurprisingly, whoever came with her is probably not idle.] What...are you doing..?
[OH, DEER(-LING) !]
[You might be wondering how she got here. Well. Maybe, maybe not. The ambush happened of course. Shouts. Faeries being Faeries. Everyone turning into pokemon and pokeballs flying everywhere. All Yasuho did was bolt for cover and duck her head and apparently that worked but then she had to high-tail it just to follow after the crew.
Which brings her to...the ranch. Currently she...is a Deerling. Green coat, Pink Flower, it's all very strange. The green coat is blending in weirdly well to the plants right now but don't worry about that. Worry about everything else!]
Psst.
[By the way, she's not in the Ranch, she's outside it. Hey. Hey guy. To the fence, c'mon.] Hey..!
What the heck is going on here..!
[OH, PAGEANTRY, ]
[Well she's here now. After venting her frustrations in Block Smash-
After burning out her energy as much as possible with the races-
It's time for................the Beauty Pageant.
...Honestly Yasuho has no idea what they dressed her in. Or put on her face. Or her flower. She has no doubt she looks absolutely stinking adorable. But she's also very tired.
And so here she stands. Backstage, in a line, with the other 'competitors'.]
....Do the fae actually know what a beauty pageant is..?
(Camelia) Cotton Cookie | Cookie Run Kingdom | OTA
[As it's already been noted, the team from Zodiac gets little say in if they stay or go to Coral Island. A number of Cotton's colleagues are already fitting themselves with weird slime cannons, doing their best to hoover up the ooze. Cotton, however...
Well, as perhaps expected of the old girl, she's set up under a little umbrella in town with a table, a laptop, and some knitting. Occasionally, the locals drop in for gossip- apparently that's a universal mood- but most of the time, she's just knitting away, and alternately typing at the keyboard.
What's she typing?
All the reports they have to hand in on this assignment. She's doing God's Work, guys.
Anyway, say hi to Grandma!]
[BIPPITY...BOPPITY...BOOP?]
[It would have been noted to various app users coming in to help that one could grab a Zodiac employee for help with the ritual to seal the rifts. Cotton is no exception in fact! Unfortunately, as will be found out once she's at the spot with them...well.]
Alright now what does this say we do next... ...Oh, oh dear.
[The old woman has long put on her reading glasses. And on top of that every curious white scaled snake hiding in her hair has come out to peer at the paper as well.
The snakes do nothing.] Oh goodness me, Janet really chose quite the font to print this out in...
[SLIME TIME]
[The mission...Is Over!
Well, mostly anyway. With all the danger dealt with, Cotton is taking a small break to try her hand with the Vacuum Cannon herself. She can't go hauling that thing around for very long, but she wanted to give it a shot!
And why shouldn't she have that shot! Let Grandma Find Slimes!]
Jonathan Joestar | JJBA: Phantom Blood | OTA
[Jonathan intended to help in his human form this time. Really, he truly did! Alfred of course was going to come along, being the ever duitiful 'butler' he was, but he was going to be a person the Whole Time! Honest!
Unfortunately the minute he steps through the gate something very odd happens. Maybe it's the stars. Maybe it's the fact that it's really not his month at all, elementally speaking. Maybe it's the fact that this is the first time he's gone through a gate since going to the Goodwill.
As it stands, there is what looks to be a very odd, very...stocky, miniature T-Rex where Jonathan should be. Very odd! For starters that head doesn't look nearly as enormous as T-Rex's would be in proportion to the body. For another, that dinosaur has entire arms! Proper, bendy arms!
And also in addition to the scales there appears to be fur all along the back. Almost looks like quills but, no. That's fur.
...
Jojo appears to be stunned.]
Oh...my...
[...He'll...probably be alright, right?]
[HE'S HELPING! - POKEATHLON]
[The strangest thing happened when he and the others got far enough into Johto!
There was an ambush, but for whatever reason while he ducked to shield his very sensitive eyes...Nothing happened! Or well, everyone else certainly disappeared, but nothing happened to him and Alfred at least! The faerie even herded them off while giggling! He's pretty sure they just put them through a spa!
Are his claws painted? They might be painted.
Anyway whatever the competition, whatever is going on...Look to the side.
No, your other side.
There's a dinosaur (...of sorts). Holding a sign, that says, 'YOU CAN DO IT!'
It may be having the opposite effect.]
[AND SO...TRIASSIC PARK,]
[Well after all that wrapped up, Jonathan left back for Kaisou and immediately turned back into his tiny little bat self. He almost looked disappointed.
But then...weeks later...during the daylight hours of the full moon...it happens.]
HUHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! OH! IT'S BRILLIANT!!
[There is a dinosaur running through the walkways of the park like it's the best day of his life.
Pedestrians scream about run-away bulls.
Chaos reigns.] YES!!!!
Sunday || Honkai Star Rail
...that's actually fascinating.
[This being said as Noah watches the envelope of the hot air balloon begin to fill, a demonstration on how the hot air keeps the balloon afloat. There's the discussion of pressure, the differences in physics when someone is in the basket and when they're not, as well as questions being taken by people who ask. All in all, it's not something he expected to really see or learn about, but it's interesting nevertheless.
His head turns to the person beside him, and he blinks.]
Oh, sorry. [There's a look of embarrassment at that, his headwings lowering a little.] I haven't bothered you with my commentary, have I?
[university campus. Now that the school year has started again in earnest, Noah finds that getting back into the flow of being a student, especially after all of this mess, is something rather welcoming. It's normal. The mundane sounds and actions of walking between classes, planning the specific sessions for violin practice, and even just talking with fellow students is something he finds puts him at ease now.
Still, he has work to do, and he won't procrastinate. Throughout the month, Noah can be found walking through the halls of one of the university buildings, books in tow in one arm and a set of sheet music in the other- or he can be found outside on the campus grounds, fine-tuning his violin and trying to relax in between everything else in the day.
wildcard. Wanna run with something? I can work with it!]
Balloooooons
[Spoilers: Yasuho was equally fascinated by the thing. The woman's ears twitch slightly at Noah's question.] Oh! Not at all, I completely agree actually...

Well, at least no one's dead.
[Obviously he'd been worried, and where had that landed him this time? As an absolutely steaming mad Flygon, sitting with tiny little arms crossed and a massive tail thumping in obvious irritation.]
But what I wouldn't give for the fae to like me a little less. [Some of them seem to be whispering conspiratorially about fashion choices and giggling.]
[i; block smash]
[Able to avoid the fashion show (for the moment), Waver instead found himself gently herded towards copious amounts of very breakable objects. Who was he to complain about basic stress relief, really?]
Fine, fine. Let's see if I understand how this form works...

Rose | FFXIV | WoL OC | Closed
[And she gets it! Stardew Valley is a lovely gate, and the Coral Island expansion makes it even moreso. Rose even has experience breathing underwater, and so the merfolk kingdom is a welcome interlude.]
[What she doesn't expect is the slimes. Rose has killed a fair number of monsters in her day, but she's never raised them? Still, they are rather cute, and Veldora in particular seems partial to them. If Veldora wants to be king of the slimes, she's happy to help him.]
Remind me, what is it we're to do again?
[As soon as she figures out how.]

[ Veldora has a gun praise the lord and pass the hallelujah.
He holds up his vac-pack with a certain flair in his stance, one hand on his hip and the other arm cradling the gun and nozzle as if he's the newest character on a hero-shooter, practicing absolutely awful gun safety but who's going to stop him? ]
We're to wash any straggling Big Scary Slimes away and corral the little ones in order to bring them to the ranches! [ the vacupack whirrs as he holds down the trigger to best illustrate his point. ] I wonder if there will be any slimes that look like my dear friend, Rimuru...
Percival "dont make me type it" de Rolo III | Critical Role
Call his name, and he'll blink out of the reverie.]
Hm? Oh—what is it?
[ii. The second thing he does, once everything seems clear, is to take apart the vacuum cannon with his tools and start scribbling in his notebook. Lean over to take a look and you'll see him sketching out a schematic and making notes in the margins, ranging from ideas to little comments like basically just a glorified vacuum. He's so absorbed in this that he doesn't notice a stray slime sidling up to the parts he's laid out.
He does notice, however, when it swipes a very important part.]
What—no! Give that back!
[And he's off, racing after the slime monster as it makes off with the part he needs to put this now disassembled cannon back together. Whoops.]
