WHO: Noah and you
WHERE: The Libra network
WHEN: Early June
WHAT: Confused about why in god's name an app shows up instead of letting him find sheet music
WARNINGS: None, he's a wet noodle
I'd ask if this was an app dedicated to classical masterpieces, but it doesn't quite look it. I was trying to find some other concerto pieces to study, but I don't think that's something I'll get from this place. Of course, the app won't delete despite my best efforts, and now I'm here.
I suppose I could ask a question, at least. Is there any kind of music that's your favorite? A song, a genre, a performance, perhaps? There really isn't any wrong answer, I'm mostly just curious.

Two minutes Iโm off the Jackdaw to buy colored sails and you end up on the bloody app, how the hell does this keep happening?

Sorry. Thereโs no way to delete this app. People have tried before and itโs not worked.

As to the question, I like what I suppose is called classic rock; Queen, David Bowie, that sort of thing.

[Is... is that what you say to something like this? Help.]
Oh, I'm familiar with those- they made a great impact on modern music and left quite a lot of influence on how rock as a whole changed both in composition and recording.
[Congrats Waver, you found the music theory nerd.]

My favorite???
Dance music! Especially ones with a good beat.

I'm assuming this is more electronic, correct? I know a decent amount about it- some music came from actual classical works, transitioned into a faster tempo and a deeper bass line. It's fascinating as a whole.

I think I already told you about my love of pretty much all Broadway musicals, so if I pick a classical piece it's probably Chopin's Winter Wind. Or I guess I can call it รtude Op. 25, No. 11 since you know more about classical music than I do.
[Did she have to google wtf Winter Wind was actually called? She sure did. But it's fine.]
It's a bit worrying we all ended up with this so close to each other, but welcome to the app?

It's been a long time since I'd practiced that, but I do recall trying to emulate it on the violin after some time. Chopin creates a bunch of musical experiences that vary between moods, and each one I tend to find both a challenge and also something new to try.
[It's fine, he knows both names.]
I actually find it a bit funny, all things considered. Hello, Faye.

Wait.
What.
What is this.
Ah. Hm.]
That certainly wasn't a piece I was expecting, but I can see the merit in it. The chords are actually relatively simple, and make the melody "catchy," so to speak.

I can't think of a piece of more iconic music.

Haha, oh honestly that answer changes depending on the day and my mood. Picking a single favorite is like picking a favorite child, you know?
But it's always nice to hear from someone that's into music! If you want some concerto pieces to study, I can always send some of the pieces I have saved for my students.

I tend to practice quite a bit on my own, so I'll keep that in mind for the future. Thank you, I do appreciate it.

He's hoping no one really recognizes his name here bc he'd really rather not have to be forced onto a stage again if he can help it.]
