Spring arrives in Kaisou once again, bringing with it pleasantly warmer weather and April showers. Trees begin to blossom once again as the rain turns the grass from its dull wintry brown to a lusher spring green. When it's not raining, you can look up and cloud gaze or admire the Spirit Vein in the sky as it turns a lovely, earthy brown. The city seems to be having a calm month, let's enjoy it while it lasts.

April Flowers

Eager to shake off the last vestiges of winter, the residents of Kaisou seem to be going all in on welcoming spring. All over town, people are finding just about every excuse to be outside and enjoy the warm spring weather. At the schools, many teachers will find excuses to teach their classes outside, and just about every park is full of couples picnicking. Restaurants throughout the town are advertising fresh new spring menu items, including dishes full of asparagus and spring greens. Meanwhile, boutiques and big box stores are pushing their spring collections, which are full of pastel and light colors. Even the merchants of Undertown are getting in the mood for spring, with vendors popping up to sell unusual seeds of plants you normally find just in the Spirit Realm.

But it's not just the Spirit Realm seeds that gardeners will find unusual. Much like last year, the arrival of spring brings with a burst of plant growth. And, much like last year, it is rapid and explosive in ways to an extreme, even unnatural, degree. Flowers and plants are growing at extremely fast speeds, and are far larger and plentiful than one would expect them to grow. The normal folk of the town don't seem too concerned, they're are mostly just excited about their flowers blooming so early and so well. Those with connections to the supernatural are a bit apprehensive, as it reminds them all too well how much closer to the Spirit Realm this city is getting. This isn't going to stop them from taking advantage of it, but all the same, there is a concern. Kaisou's turning into bit of a jungle, tamed only by careful weeding, magical solutions, and the occasional person with a machete whacking at the more stubborn plants.

These Roots were Made for Walking

Much like last year, there is a massive surge of plant growth in the city. However, this year? That is not where it stops.

As the month goes on, something... strange starts to happen. Trees that you swear weren't there the day before are suddenly right there against your house. And then it's over by your car. And... how did it get the middle of the street!?

The excessive spirit energy that is causing such explosive growth in the city is more powerful than it first appeared. Though they aren't sentient, the trees of Kaisou are suddenly ambulatory, able to walk around and be places they really, really should not be. Those in the city blind to the supernatural don't think anything of it, noting that they should really get someone out to handle the small grove of pine trees in the middle of the grocery store parking lot. The more supernaturally inclined do notice and will try everything they can think of to get the trees out of the way, if not back where they belong.

App users who are interested in getting the trees out of the way can try their hand at tree-herding. Those with a special connection to plants might be able to usher them back to their original location with a little sweet talking. Meanwhile those with more musically inclined skills may be able to do an arboreal pied piper act and lure them out of the way with song. Or you might be able to strong-arm them out of the way, if you're really desperate. Eventually, the potion makers of Undertown will create a concoction that can be poured on the roots of the trees to keep them stationary. Make sure to pour that potion on your trees in your yard, lest they go wandering again.

Truth Bracelets (The Black Order)

After the untimely death of Teresa, the Black Order has made it very clear to the Kaisou Guardians that they have until the end of April to investigate and find the culprit. But, they aren't going to let them investigate without any help, oh no. At the start of the month, each Black Order member will receive a metal bracelet engraved with runes with instructions to wear it during the month. The bracelet will clamp onto the Guardian's wrist once they receive it, making it so they can't choose to not wear it.

Once it's on, it's enchanted to detect anytime someone is lying to you (or you're lying yourself). Small lies will just make the runes glow, while large lies will cause the large sound to emit that everyone can hear. And consistent lies? If they aren't stop, the bracelet will start to heat up and cause pain to the wearer.

And top of everything else? It's not clear if the lies the bracelet is picking up on is being transmitted back to the Order or not. Any attempts to trace the spell will just give people a headache. So even if the Guardian wouldn't sell you out, the bracelet might.

New Horizons

On April 5th, Zodiac will send out an alert.

ALERT: SPIRIT GATE DETECTED IN KAISOU HARBOR.

Designation: Nook Islands
Zodiac has been contacted by a yokai named Tanukichi. He says he's familiar with the app users from last November, and has a business proposition he wants to discuss with you. You can talk to him at the Zodiac office.

Should you head down to the Zodiac Office, you'll find that the office is strangely empty. There are no Zodiac employees, and the Professor isn't sitting in his little chair. The only person there is a tanuki in a Hawaiian shirt, which some may recognize from last November. When he spots you, he'll hurry over and seem quite cheerful. He introduces himself as Tanukichi- or Tom Nook, as he likes to be called in these parts of the world. Then he starts chatting away in his high pitch voice, explaining with many words about his plan.

You see, since November and the failed attempt to take over Kaisou, Tom Nook realized that taking over already lived-in places really wasn't his cup of tea. Therefore, he decided to start his own island in the Spirit Realm, that he could build to be a wonderful slice of paradise. He's even found a nice abandoned realm that'll do quite nicely. But before he can start building the community of his dreams, he needs some help with making the island a desirable place to live! So, he'd love it if app users would spend some time on his island and help out.

And if you're wondering what's in it for you? Don't worry, Tom Nook has an answer. You see, a good businessmen keeps his ear to the ground, and he's heard of the trouble with a certain ... deceased Black Order Guardian. Now he doesn't want to know details on who did it (in fact, you're getting the sense this might be WHY the office is so empty today), but he is willing to offer temporary safe harbor for anyone who wishes to avoid the Order's investigation. Not even those noisy truth bracelets the Black Order received will be an issue! All you have to do in exchange is some simple labor to help him out. Not a bad offer, now is it?

If you agree to Tom Nook's deal, he'll happily give you instructions to the gate. The gate this time will appear as a small airport in Kaisou's harbor that's run by Dodo Airlines. Inside the airport are a couple of anthropormophic dodos who run the entire airport. After taking you though an obnoxiously long screening and paperwork process (including where they ask you to leave any weapons behind), you'll be allowed onto their seaplane and set for take off! The flight itself is a rather peaceful one, though the only form of in-flight entertainment is a promotional video for Tom Nook's island. Maybe try to find other ways to entertain yourself on the flight.

The Island

Finally, after a long flight, you arrive at your destination. Besides the small airport that you arrived at, the island is pretty much devoid of any civilization. Quickly, you may notice something alarming. Besides the clothes on your back, your phone, and any pets you brought along? Any items you brought with you seem to be gone - including those truth bracelets. If they try to ask the Dodo pilots about where your luggage may have gone, they'll probably shrug and say something along the lines of that this realm probably didn't allow it... whatever that means. Not only that, but while many folks have retained their human forms, some of you may look a bit more like an animal person than before.

Tom Nook and his two apprentices, Timmy and Tommy, are there to greet the app users. They lead you over to their camp that they've set up, which is in a clearing not far from the airport. There's a campfire going, as well as a dinner which consists of fruit (apples, oranges, pears, cherries and peaches) and some fire roasted fish. That's it. Once enough people are gathered, they'll explain once again their big dream of making this a wonderful island paradise. But for now, they had a lot of work to be done.

Once the meal is finished, Tom Nook will go over his plan. Supplies can't be imported into this realm very easy. Sometimes things will show up, but it tends to be pretty sporadic and random. So instead, Tom is thinking that they will just build items themselves using resources on the island! He'll spend the next hour giving a basic tutorial on how to make DIY items using random items that can be foraged around the island. Anything from stone axes to shovels to even furniture. It's actually surprising how much stuff can be built using the bare essentials - but you can chalk it up to the Realm's magic.

After the tutorials are through, Tom and his apprentices will separate everyone into groups. Once the groups are made, they hand each of the group a single rolled-up tent. This will be what you'll be living in, starting off. Now it's up to you to decide where to pitch your tent. There's plenty of space on the island, so your group has a lot of spots to choose from. Maybe you want to be close to where the town center will (eventually) be, maybe you want to be living on the sandy beach, maybe you want to be high up on some cliffs, or maybe you want some waterfront property near that very normal looking body of water on the north side. The choice is yours! Try to make it comfortable as possible, though there isn't a whole lot of room in this tent for four people.

Though if anyone starts getting into fights over the tent space? They will quickly discover violence does not work on this island. Any swung punches will comically miss their target, powers used against other people in violent attempts won't work, and hitting someone with a blade will somehow not cut them. The most you can do is harmlessly poke or smack people with sticks or bug nets. Guess this is what Tom Nook meant by people being safe here. As for other powers... well, they seem to work for some people, while others will find them completely powerless throughout their visit.

Get those Bells

And so begins your island life. The first night is yours to relax, familiarize yourself with the island, or maybe practice your new DIY skills. The very next morning, you'll get text messages from Timmy and Tommy. As it turns out, the capitalists only needed a day to figure out how to make money off of this. Apparently this realm has a unique currency called Bells, a type of gold coin that when there's enough of them- can be used to magically accomplish a task. So while you're welcome to continue DIYing your way into a better island, you can also do other things to try to earn Bells.

And how do you earn Bells? Well, there's two ways. The first way is exploring the island for any interesting items and selling them to Timmy and Tommy for a price. The twins are pretty keen on running a shop on the island, and so they're willing to buy just about anything. Seashells you found on the beach? Sell it. A cool bug you found? Sell it. The failed DIY project that you made? Sell it. Those dinosaur fossils that keep appearing in your yard every morning? Sell those too. Some items sell more than others, and it's really hard to make sense of why some things sell so well (such as scorpions and tarantulas, they are willing to pay a concerning amount of money for those) - but that's just business baby. Some folks will even encounter glowing cracks in the ground. Digging there will reveal a glowing hole with money in it. Plant something in that hole? And very soon you'll have trees that grow money. Nice!

Meanwhile if you aren't in the mood to forage for sell-able items or you aren't having any luck with money trees, Tom Nook is happy to pay you in bells for doing various odd jobs about the Island. After all, the whole reason you're here in the first place is to help out with that, so you might as well get to work.

Some of these jobs include:

• Planting Flowers: The tanuki will happily give you various flower seeds to plant around the island in order to liven up the place! Help tend the flowers best you can. These flowers are special and seem to reproduce just about whenever they get watered, so any budding botanist could try their hand as crossbreeding flowers for new variants and colors. Just be careful not to let the flower population get too out of hand, as they can quickly overrun an area after a rainy day if not kept in check.
• Weeding: Just like the flowers, weeds have a way of growing quickly on this island. Make sure the weed problem is under control. It seems like every day new weed plants sprout up, so if you happen to be particularly lazy about it? It'll only take a few days before your area of the island is overrun with them.
• Food Gathering: So the island only has two native food sources: the fruit trees and fish from the various bodies of water. That's it. The fruit trees can be found throughout the island, offering a variety of apples, pears, cherries, oranges, and peaches. Be careful during your fruit picking though, as some trees contain wasp nests that seem to pop up out of nowhere and will get a whole swarm flying at you if you disturb them. As for the fish, they can be fished out of any body of water on the island. Though there's also always a chance you'll fish up a piece of garbage... or if you do catch a fish, you'll feel strongly compelled to make a pun about it.
• Building Infrastructure: There's a number of building projects needed in order to get the island going: a town hall, a general store for Timmy and Tommy, a clothing store, a museum, bridges to make river crossing easier, and staircases to help climbing up the cliffs. Help out building where you can either by gathering needed materials or helping build it yourself. Otherwise, you can always sell things to help contribute bells towards the projects.
• Landscaping: While it's important to get the basic infrastructure down for the island, there's plenty that could be done to make the island look even better. Help build and paint some fences, create public spaces from the furniture you build or find, and even use your powers to change the land itself.

Whether you choose to rely solely on DIY projects, or you decide to do work to earn some Bells - as long as you put in the work, it'll start to pay off for you. The first benefit will be your lodgings, as the tent you put down will become a proper building. Sure, it'll start with a single room house that's pretty cramp on space, but eventually with enough work done? It'll grow into a full house with multiple rooms, an attic, and a basement if you're willing to work the extra mile. Or, you can slack off and live in the tent all month. The choice is yours really!

Once you got the lodgings you desire (or deserve), it's now time to actually furnish it. You can build your own furniture with DIY. Or, you can buy furniture from Timmy and Tommy's general store with your excess Bells (though they will only sell a small handful of furniture pieces every day that are completely random). But besides that, you'll notice that items seem to show up... randomly on this island. Sometimes you'll shake a tree, and a sofa will fall out. And sometimes a balloon with a gift box will come floating by. Shoot it down with a slingshot, and the random gift inside is yours! It can be anything from furniture to articles of clothing to clay. How frequently these appear and the contents inside seem to hinge entirely on your luck, so may fortune be in your favor. Though even if you have the worst luck possible, you'll still get a minimum of three gift balloons coming your way with various gifts from the stars.

Island Visitors

Luckily, your time on the island isn't just going to be app users, the dodo birds, and the capitalists tanuki! As you put in efforts towards bettering the island, other visitors will begin to show up on the island. Some of them will be here for short visits, while others will move onto the island permanently. Every single one of them seem to be an anthropomorphic animal and act like it's entirely normal to be one, which gives you the strong impression that maybe humans are the strange ones here.

Some of the more notable arrivals include:

• Blathers: A brown owl that intends to run the museum on the island. While he's nocturnal in schedule, he's happy to chat with app users about various topics and seems to be good friends with the Professor (fuzzy) and Professor Oak... somehow. Since a museum needs things to look at, he'll ask that you donate any unique fish, bugs, fossils, and art pieces to put on display. He'll even happily talk about any of the items you bring him! Well, except for bugs. He is deeply afraid of bugs... the poor guy.
• The Able Sisters: Hedgehog sisters that'll run the clothing store once it's been open. They'll sell a random limited variety of clothes that characters can purchase with bells. These outfits will range from the chic and trendy to the extremely questionable, so keep your fingers crossed you don't spend your month looking like a fashion disaster. One of the sisters, Label, will ask people occasionally to try on various fashion styles for her own research, if you're looking for some quick easy Bells.
• Isabelle: A dog lady who will eventually be hired on by Tom Nook to help with running the town. Unlike Tom Nook, she is not driven by capitalism and will gladly help you sort out any infrastructure projects that aren't profit driven! Not only that, but if you're getting annoyed with your neighbors, you can ask Isabelle to issue a strongly worded complaint to them if you wanna be petty like that.
• Leif: A sloth that'll appear on the island some days to sell various plants. If you want more unique bushes or flowers for your landscaping, he's your guy! Even more importantly, he'll sell you food crops that AREN'T fruit - such as potatoes, wheat, pumpkins and carrots - just so you can get more variety in your diet.
• Brewster: A pigeon that'll open up a coffee shop within the museum, providing this island with some much needed caffeine. His drinks are pretty delicious, though he keeps calling the milk he uses as "pigeon milk". What is that? Should you question it and risk losing your caffeine access? Better not chance it.
• Redd: A kitsune who'll show up in a very shady boat and try to sell you fake art. No surprise, he's related to the kitsune who live back in Kaisou. Though as you deal with him, you start to get the sense he may be the stupid member of the family, as amongst all his obviously fake art? You'll find real famous works of art that he's selling for ridiculously low prices. Where did he get the actual Mona Lisa or a real Van Gogh? Who knows, but you might as well grab it before he realizes how pathetically low his asking price is.
• Saharah: A camel that has an unusual way of speaking but will sell you rugs, wallpapers and flooring for your place. The catch is? You won't get to see what she sells you until you buy it. Sometimes it'll look great, and other times it'll be the tackiest thing you ever laid eyes on. Is this a scam? It feels like a scam. But at least your place will have some carpeting.
• Daisy Mae: A young boar who will come to the island to sell turnips. These turnips can be used for cooking or try to invest in the turnip stock market. Each day, the sell price for turnips will change. Sometimes you can make it big, and sometimes you will lose money. Either way, the turnips go bad after a week so you gotta hope you're picking the right time to sell.
• Kapp'n: A Kappa that sits on a motorboat off the pier. He'll take you to a unique deserted island once a day, where you might be able to grab special resources or just spend time away from your housemates. What kind of island he takes you to is entirely up to change, and he will sing sea shanties the entire trip.
• Zipper T. Bunny (UNLUCKY CHARACTERS ONLY): If you are particularly cursed with misfortune (ie, you have the misfortune regain), sometime when you are alone you will be visited by a yellow rabbit with a zipper on the back. He will tell you that Bunny Day is coming, and so he's left chocolate eggs for you to find. From this point on, anytime you try to gather any resource you will have a 1-in-3 chance to find a chocolate egg instead. Try to catch a fish? Egg. Try to get some fruit? Egg. Go digging for fossils? Egg. You will also dream of DIY ideas you can do with the eggs. No one else will see Zipper. If you try to tell someone anyone with any truth-telling abilities about Zipper, it'll get pinged as a lie.
• K.K. Slider: Another dog that'll show up every Saturday to do performances in front of the town hall. While he's apparently a very famous musician and he's written music for just about every genre imaginable. As for his actual singing skill, well, it's an acquired taste.

Besides them, there are number of other visitors that'll pop up such as Blather's sister Celeste who'll show up whenever there's a meteor shower to watch (which happens about weekly in this realm), the obviously gay couple C.J. and Flick who'll pay extra for fish and bugs, the seagull Gulliver who keeps washing up on the shores after he keeps falling off his ship, the Otter Pascal who'll trade any scallops you happen to find for "Mermaid furniture"; and random animal people who'll show up to stay in a tent for the night. All in all, there's loads of new people to meet during your stay on the island that'll make the place just the all more memorable.

Aftermath

You can stay on the island as little or as long as you like. Whenever it's time to return home, you simply need to head to the Dodo Airport to take a flight home. Otherwise, you're welcome to stay on the island for the entire month if you'd like. The worst harm that'll come to you on this island is getting bitten by a tarantula and passing out, so you can consider this a safe place to be. Tom Nook will thank you for all your help, though how sincere that thank you is will depend on how much work you actually did. He also tells you you're welcome to come back anytime during the rest of the month, just head to the airport in the harbor.

At the end of the month, the realm will disappear like so many others did in previous times. But who knows, maybe you'll see it again someday.

OOC Notes

The dominant element this month is Earth! Anyone with an affinity to the earth element will find themselves boosted throughout the month. This could mean a boost to their power, having more energy, feeling more inspired with creativity, having better luck on different attempts -- the boost can manifest in all sorts of different ways. By contrast, anyone with an affinity for Water will be experiencing the opposite. Perhaps their powers will be weaker, they have less energy, they're having a creative block or general worse luck - again it can manifest in all sorts of way and players are free to play with this mechanic as they'd like.

During the month of April, players can obtain up to 3 free gacha pulls! Please redeem these gacha pulls in the plotting post.

The island

[Husk is no stranger to Odd Animal People, Hell is full of them- he's one. Of course, the ones in Hell are generally a lot less cutesy than this, if his past memory serves. Regardless, the gate saw fit to leave him as he was, he fit in with the residents of the island anyway. He's... well, not really optimistic-Husk doesn't trust optimism, it's a stupid person's emotion - but he's feeling like this might not be completely terrible. He glances at his wrist, glad to see the Order's awful lie-detecting manacle has vanished. He does let out a distressed sound at the whiskey flask in his pocket being gone though.

He glances over at you. ]

I swear to christ, this place better have a bar. I ain't doing this Fyre Festival tent garbage if I can't get fuckin' wasted at the same time. That raccoon was full of it, there ain't shit here. He forgot to mention we were building it from the fuckin' ground up.

Why are you wearing that stupid bunny suit?

[Husk had been wandering the island, getting a lay of the land. He's not super excited with the idea of all the manual labour ahead of him, but it's better than the alternative. Or at least... so he thought. But then the rabbit showed up. A big, yellow, dancing rabbit with a zipper on the back.

He stands there, eyes wide, staring at the dancing yellow rabbit. Of course, most of you aren't gonna see it, so it looks like Husk is just staring at nothing with that existential dread expression cats sometimes get when they're looking at an empty spot on the ceiling. Husk's ears pin to the back of his skull, unable to take his gaze off the dancing rabbit that introduces itself as Zipper T Bunny and that Egg Day is here. Still staring at the dancing abomination, Husk mutters an aside to you. ]

...Are you seeing this shit?

[ Regardless if you are one of the few who can see this shit or not- the horrible rabbit still dances and eventually Husk decides to just... fucking leave. He knows this is the best place for him to be - it's the only way he's not going to end up inadvertently getting someone fucked by the Order- but sweet Jesus, he is being tested. If you follow him, you'll have the joy of watching him dive out of an egg as it drops out of a tree- you know, like eggs do. He glares at it, like it's offended him greatly just by existing. ]

[ Well, she supposes this is better than her initial assumptions of having to fight anything. Sure there's... nothing on the island at the moment, but she'll take roughing it over dealing with shit back in the city. Especially now that they don't have that bracelet at the moment.

But imagine her surprise when she sees she's changed and it's not a normal change either. While she looks like an animal, like most of the others brought here, more specifically she looks like...

She spots Husk grumping to someone nearby, but that does little to deter her as she rushes over - wings fluttering as she stops in front of him and just. Hops on the spot from sheer excitement. ]

Around the Island

[August knows where his strengths lie, and they are not in physical labor. They are in crafting! Mostly. Okay, it's in tailoring and tarot but look, he's making it work.

Or he's trying to, at least. Honestly, he's not having much luck finding things to make clothes out of, so after a day or two he pivots to the other thing he can that's helpful: cook! He's used to making large amounts of food, at least, so once he gets his hands on some kitchen equipment or a grill or whatever August will be found mostly cooking.

Or whacking at trees until the fruit falls. Or staring at the rivers and weighing the pros and cons of trying to fish.]

So of course he gets right to work doing anything Nook needs, ending up mostly planting flowers and handling the weeds and such. At some point he's likely to get roped into carrying wood and stuff, too.

And at some point you will absolutely see a literal raccoon of a man pull a weed out of the ground, look at it, get the dirt covered part off, and pop it in his mouth.]

Meteor Shower

[The only thing Caleb loves more than thrifting or curb-picking is stargazing, and for there to be a meteor shower nearly every week?

Yeah, he's out there every chance he gets. Eventually he manages to make a bamboo bench and sets it up in the spot that has the best view, and even gets a telescope from Nook's. There's no lamps or other light in the area, it's just Caleb and the stars.

The boat he finds himself on stinks of oil paint and fake thinner. He's worked long enough in appraisal that he knows what he's looking at is a replica. Many of what he's looking at are replicas.
Now, don't get him wrong, they're GOOD replicas, and even Vergil is needing a few minutes to look over each painting while that ... ANNOYING red fox is in his ear yammering prices and authenticity--

But that's when his gaze lingers over a painting of sunflowers for a moment.

Holding up a paw in front of Redd's face to stop him yammering, Vergil's going to point at it and very quickly request to buy it. Paying the cheap but still nonsense price the fox asks for as it snickers and giggles as Vergil's SURE the guy thinks most of these paintings are fake.

He's gonna put the painting carefully under his arm and start scooting out of the shop.

If you're there buying art with him, he'll probably hiss at you that they're all cheap fakes before making his way outside with what he's pretty damn fucking sure is a legit piece of gogh art and he can barely believe his luck.

After he's a fair distance away from the boat and it's sketchy owner, well. He can be found sitting on a tree stump, the long, wolfish face of his scrutinizing every inch of the painting. ]

I've spent a lot of time looking outside at night, but. The sky's never this clear in cities.

[ There was an honest attempt to get to the Nook Store before it closed. He'd spent most of the day foraging around for something to eat or sell that wasn't chocolate fucking eggs, but.

Now he's found himself waist-deep in a hole and he's struggling to get out.

It's probably funny, seeing this blackbird, wearing some sort of weird eggshell hat, is really having a hard time using his wing hands to try to free himself of the pit.

He already has the skeleton of a cabin built by nightfall because, again, he's fucking insane. The most important thing is getting a roof over their heads in case it rains, so it's more like a gazebo right now, but he's working on it.

When he isn't making an entire goddamn house, which is probably only going to keep him busy for a couple in game days let's be real, he's working on a top secret side project. It starts with building a suit of iron armor... though he only has pieces of it laying around for now.

Expect lots of hammering and clanging when it's nightfall, morning, or somewhere in between. He is... nonstop.

At least until the end of the third day, where he suddenly passes out face first over a half-built table, hammer in hand.]

This is weird enough already, but they seem to show up near tall, climbable places. Which really just narrows the suspect list down to “probably one of the rooftop cryptids,” and sure enough, stick around one of the taller locations without a convenient landing spot around long enough, and Edward will show up with a hammer, some planks of wood, some nails, and a bag full of leaves.]

[So here’s the problem with Edward treating the island as his personal parkour playground, as he’s done with all the other islands in the Caribbean during his pirate career: this one has wasps. And if those wasps get mad because someone shakes their trees, imagine how furious they’ll get if someone, say, one of the local rooftop cryptids, outright uses the branches to swing from like he’s trying not to touch the ground while he chases down a balloon.

[It’s actually pretty impressive how agile Edward is when he’s fully panicking and trying to outrun a swarm full of furious wasps. Yes, he has tougher skin now, but these wasps are very determined to get him.

For the most part, the start of this adventure seemed pretty unremarkable. Even the idea of developing a deserted island, while it certainly piqued Ritsuka's interest, wasn't exactly new to her.

No, it's not until she noticed that she felt a bit different, and realized that others were in the same predicament(?), that it really took on a new twist.

"Wait, is everyone here animals now??"


[II. Resource Gathering]

The first step, Ritsuka knows, to developing a deserted island, is gathering resources. Or farming them, if you will. So chances are, wherever you are, you'll probably see her at some point, either exploring new (to her) areas of the island, and/or gathering up as much as she can carry of some thing or another before teleporting back to her assigned housing. Only to, moments later, reappearing once again for another load.

The grind never ends, but she sure seems enthusiastic about it!


[III. The Ritsukansen]

Not all that long ago, Ritsuka discovered she now has the ability to teleport. More recently, she learned that she could bring people with her. Which means that, after taking some time to explore as much of the island as possible, she's more than happy to bring people pretty much wherever if asked!

"Hey, if you need to get someplace, let me know?"

Or even if you haven't asked, but just look like you might be headed somewhere.


Alternatively, you might happen to find her just completely passed out exhausted, most likely in her assigned house, but potentially elsewhere, golden light markings still glowing around her wrists. It seems someone was a little overly eager to play with her newfound power, and didn't stop to consider how draining using it so much would be...


[IV. Fox Fishing]

As time goes on, you might spot a three-tailed fox along the shore of a nearby body of water, staring intently at the fish-shaped shadows below. Using a fishing rod doesn't really satisfy the instinct to hunt, after all, so she's trying her hand (paw?) at catching fish the old-fashioned way. Of course, this is far easier said than done, so most the time all it results in is a very soggy three-tailed fox shaking herself off a few moments later.

"Sorry, did I get you wet?"

If you're timing is just right, however, you might actually catch her succeeding, a gleaming fish held firmly in those vulpine jaws before being deposited to flop on the shore.

"Oh, did you want some fish, too?"

You know something that earth manipulation powers are good for? Digging holes. Which is to say, when not lending her enhanced strength to hauling or building things, Meredith was trying out something fairly new to her: gardening. You might find her buying seeds from Leif, preparing a patch of land to be planted, hauling as many watering cans full of water as she can manage, or doing some of the inevitable weeding.

Though she wouldn't say no to a little help or company. Seriously, this really wasn't her style at all, she just couldn't think of anything better/more useful to do...

These Roots Were Made For Walking

Opal is not supernaturally inclined towards nature (as far as they know), but they are the kind of person who just goes off and lives in the woods for a few days when the city becomes too much. "Herding trees" seems like it would be easier than "herding cats" but... well, very little about this new life of theirs seems easy so they'll have to see.

They do have a few methods- people might find them getting laying a hand on the tree's truck, a light pressure to steer them back in a different direction, or perhaps a little bit of baby-logic akin to "It wouldn't be very comfy there on the asphalt, why don't you go this way?" It is working surprisingly well for them.

An Island Getaway

The only thing Opal doesn't like about this situation is that the goal is to develop these islands for a landlord. The rest of it? Camping out until you can set up something more stable, living off the land, using what you can get your hands on... they love it. This is the best vacation ever. They don't even mind that they've been turned into a dark green rabbit- frankly, this feels more normal than most other things that have happened so far. This is foreshadowing.

Once the house they share with a few others has been settled, they'll head off to the more general areas to see if anyone needs any help, and to just enjoy the scene for what it all is. The most likely place to find them? Up a tree. Possibly jumping between trees. Hopefully they don't knock an apple off and onto your head.

Campfires though he can handle, especially if he made them himself. Means he's got control over them. And at least early on, Ragna managed to even catch a few fish! And her trainer? Up in the apple tree. Taking a little nap. The Donkey Pokemon has several apple cores around her signaling that she's certainly well fed, but that wasn't enough dammit! And her trainer's been slacking for too long and pissing her off to boot.

So the solution is simple. And there's a hefty donkey kick against the tree, knocking down several apples AND Wei Wuxian who shrieks loudly before hitting the ground with a thud.]

OWWWWW--! Little Apple, how could you?! That hurt... I think I broke something... [He didn't.] I give you all the apples you could want and this is how I'm repaid! [Said to the Mudbray who gave zero fucks and ate yet another apple while Wei Wuxian continued to whine.]

Surprise Event: STARS

[During the first weekend on the island, there is one particularly clear and beautiful night. While it's different from Kaisou's sky, with no Spirit Vein lighting the sky, the starry sky is still a sight behold. Not only are the stars bright, but you seem lucky enough to catch sight of a clear meteor shower. Shooting stars streak across the sky and....oh, are they coming towards you?

While most of the stars will shoot harmlessly across the sky, lighting up as one makes a wish on them, there will be some that will crash directly onto the island in flashes of bright colorful light. Fortunately, while they are loud, they don't cause any damage. Should you approach these fallen stars, some of them will be star fragments. But some of the others? You will find that they aren't real meteorites, but packages containing items that you'd expect to come from that strange goodwill back in Kaisou. In fact, they even have labels indicating who these items are meant for.]

She was just going to try to dash over so he could come land on her or, failing that, she could grab hold of him, if possible. Don't worry, she had an idea.

[Let’s all be honest with ourselves here: this island was made for Noctis and his fishing hobby. Without any weapons in the Armiger, there is suddenly quite a lot of free space, and Noctis has decided to take full advantage of it to go fishing. He is clearly having an absolutely fantastic time, judging by just how much fish he keeps hauling back to House 3.

Anyone who needs to find him can typically find him on a lawn chair near a body of water, fishing rod in hand and wearing a hat that reads Women Are Indifferent To Me, Fish Despair On Sight Of My Face. There is a bucket beside his chair already half-filled with fish, his Oshawott is peacefully chewing on some fruit on his lap, and he’s watching the line and the water with a keen eye. He was at least nice enough to also set up another lawn chair beside him.

Other times, if he’s not on the island, it might be worth paddling out further into the water. There, you might see a ribbon seal pop up from the depths with a fish clutched triumphantly in his teeth. With a shake of his head, he sends the fish into the Armiger and makes a truly bad pun, then dives again.

If you have a form that can go underwater for long periods of time, why the hell wouldn’t you use it? Gosh.]

[There are maybe two other things Noctis will mainly be doing around the island besides fishing, and that’s working on his fishing game and napping, either as a seal or as a human. He’s not going to say no if asked to help with infrastructure and resource-gathering, so he might also be found doing those things once or twice! But like. He’s on vacation, there’s one thing he truly wants to be doing on an island with bountiful resources and it’s fishing.

Somehow, it wasn't remotely surprising that Noctis would have found himself such a nice setup, and seeing as how fishing was an excellent way to gather resources on the island, it was perfectly justified to boot. No, the one thing Meredith couldn't help but sigh at...

[It's everyone's favorite bat- but now he's Villager sized. Or more plainly, the size of everyone else on average. Maybe even a slight bit shorter, which is something he seems incredibly thrilled by.

More thrilling though is this notion of boxes on balloons, meant to be shot down. And so, in the First week of April, Jonathan takes aim...and shoots.]

Of course, bringing it to the house wasn't going to work either, so he finally just found the nearest waterfall and shoved it up a tree there.

Passersby will very much witness a large bat of a man leaping away as a rabbit launches out of a box. Help!]

[Well, eventually all you can really do is Ignore the Rabbits. It's what he's trying to do at least, even if there's at least one following behind him at almost all times. Perhaps they like him. He's given them a new home after all!

In any case he's ignoring all of that and using his shiny new shovel instead. There are apparently fossils on this island, and the minute he finds one he happily flags someone down to start chatting immediately.] Look, look! It's some sort of shell I believe...an Ammonite perhaps! Oh I can't wait to have this properly cleaned, what do you think?

[...Well whatever they think isn't going to matter once he gets to the Museum. Blathers holds the fossil with care- and excitement! And-]

Why...it's an Ankylosaurus tail!

[Blathers happily goes on about the Ankylosaurus. Jonathan finds he can't quite listen. He's still looking at the fossil the owl has with a rather owlish stare.]

A few days after the first batch of app users made their way to the island, a newcomer arrived. Though whether he'd be recognized as such was a good question, given that the red... supposedly an echidna sure did look like he fit right in with this realm. Really, the biggest indication was simply the slightly confused look he was giving everything.

"So, my task is to make this place into a proper abode? Very well, I will show that Tom Nook how an echidna warrior lives!"

[II. Fruits of Your Labor]

Gathering food was, of course, a basic necessity. If asked, Knuckles could probably give you a whole speech about maintaining a strong body and so on, but right now he was more focused on gathering something to eat in the first place. Which in this case meant fruits, of which he already had quite the impressive pile to haul around. Still, though, as he shook another tree, he looked oddly disappointed...

"Are there no grapes here?"


[III. Crime Note]

Later in the month, after knocking down one of those floating gift boxes, a certain echidna found himself in possession of a notebook. And not just any notebook, but a very specific one in particular. Naturally, upon finding the notebook was magic and responded to what was written in it, he had to investigate further, to decidedly... mixed results:

"Jaywalking...? How does one walk a jay?"

Or,

"I do not understand... Is this another Earth custom?"

Or even,

"Dishonor!!"

... Someone, please, find a way to take the notebook away before this ends in disaster.

[ there are chores to be done for profit, and thus, Wolfwood is throwing himself into them wholeheartedly--even if he's trying not to think too hard about how he's doing stuff without fingers. wielding a little wooden shovel and an inexplicable stone axe, Wolfwood's taken up with beautifying the island. he seems to have a near infinite supply of flowers that he's just stuffing wherever he can get them to go, and there's more than one occasion where he'll look at a tree, consider it, and fell the tree in order to get at the wood and plant a piece of fruit in its place.

... though if anyone's around when he's collecting said fruit for his enfruitifying procedures, they might notice that not all three pieces of fruit make it into the island's soil--with a little sealish look around with them bigass boba eyes, two pieces of fruit go in one pocket, and one piece in the other, and then he's off with his flowers and his purposes. ]

[ the less Wolfwood thinks about not having hands, as seen in exhibit A, the less questions he has to ask about how he can still make his lighter work--though it doesn't do him much good in the end. ]

The hell did they do to my cigarettes...?

[ if you're in the right place at the right time, you might be treated to the wonderful smell of an idiot making caramel as he burns a crappy looking piece of white chalk with a red painted end, little seal eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he just watches the 'cigarette' burn.

you might also see him trying to fit a weed (grass)(not that kind) into a rolling paper. desperate times call for the dumbest measures possible. ]

[ Wolfwood's around, man. he likes wandering around this nice, temperate island, paying visits to his various family members and friends because someone's probably going to hold him accountable for what his kids and husbands get up to. sometimes this wandering might be in the river itself, floating downstream on his back and just vibing.

he will absolutely try to snitch your fish if you aren't paying attention. Wolfwood's a good man, but seals are born with the morals of seagulls and impulse-control of toddlers. I don't make the rules. ]

I - He's A Little Confused, But...

[If one were to observe Nito throughout his time on the island, it turns out that he's not precisely bad at the tasks he sets out to do in order to earn bells. He does manage to complete them, after all. It's just that he fairly consistently does them in a way that a normal person would consider decidedly incorrect.

Weeds are generally not supposed to be eaten once plucked, after all, but perhaps he can be forgiven for that one due to currently being shaped like a moth person.

Fishing though. That is most certainly supposed to be done from shore with a rod, not by walking into the water with a bug net. And yet, somehow, when he walks out of whatever body of water he wandered into however long later, he consistently has a fish.

[ The thing about coming to this island is that, along with changing looks drastically, Lapis' powers don't work. Besides the new shadow jump-y ability she got in a box. But beyond that, nothing else worked.

Including her usual tolerance towards alcohol. Usually drinking did nothing to her, and drinking a lot might just make her feel nauseous for a bit. This is what she was expecting to happen when she decided to drink with her father and boyfriend one night.

But in true Camp 10 fashion, only disaster can happen.

So after many drinks in, way too many, Lapis and Husk are now having a fight that could put most daytime talk shows to shame. Downside is it's currently all in drunken, rapid Italian - but at least those who understand Italian can get the gossip. Or feel terribly awkward at overhearing all this. ]

-A-and another thing, old man! [ What were they just yelling about? Her drunken catbird brain has already forgotten as she goes onto her next grievance. ]

Are you getting all these eggs because... because you're trying to replace me?! Am I not good enough anymore?!?

[The one good part of this whole awful experience had been that Husk could still make moonshine out of the fruit on the island. Granted, one out of three fruit he picks is a fucking egg so getting enough fruit to make a decent amount of moonshine to actually get drunk from has been a challenge.

It had been a nice thing, he thought, to let Lapis come and share his carefully created bounty. He was being a good dad, letting his daughter get absolutely hammered on cheap booze that is absolutely in no way FDA approved with him.

He's already regretting this life choice as she starts yelling at him about the stupid fucking eggs. He waves his arms in the air, annoyed. Does he even realise they're screaming at each other in Italian? Probably not. ]

Every footstep is a fucking crashing cymbal. Every shuffle with your feet sounds like you're kicking fucking legos.

...It's really fucking hard to tell if the sound is actually coming from your own feet, or somewhere else.

[ for those who know the venerated arbiter-general of the xianzhou luofu, finding him napping in a patch of sunlight under a tree is hardly surprising. for those who don't? well, it is nearly impossible to miss the white-haired man laid out underneath one of the trees on his side, one of his arms is folded underneath his head like a makeshift pillow, while the other is draped over the large white cat you may have seen about the island hunting scorpions.

both man and cat appear to be sleeping while comfortably, so much so that neither of them notice the small finches that have started to land on jing yuan's sleeping form and hop around curiously. sadly, should you decide to approach the sleeping lion and his precious cub, they will fly off to hide in the nearby trees. ]

[ perhaps you were by the ocean when jing yuan waltz up with a determined look on his face, perhaps you were there to witness as the man pretty much stripped down to nothing but a pair of shorts and lept into the water. perhaps you were there to watch the waves with anticipation as nothing seems to happen for a good moment or two, and perhaps you were there to watch as jing yuan burst out of the water with a blue marlin in tow.

or maybe you just happened to come across the man after he caught his prize, still dressed in nothing but a part of shorts, sat in front of a fire looking at his catch with a particularly pensive look on his face. he appears to be trying to figure something out and that is a lot of fish for one man. ]
