Voice, un: eve
WHO: Eve
WHERE: Network
WHEN: Backdated to Saint Patrick's Day
WHAT: Asking about her newest pet, Null: Zero
WARNINGS: Potential talk of experimentation, weaponizing Pokemon and/or people, Pokemon with metal cone of shame
I just wanted holiday chocolate, but apparently I won? Something.
The prize the store gave me... Nico says it's a dog.
Which probably means someone here knows more about this creature.
[Eve attaches video of Null: Zero pacing around the cottage. A strange patchwork creature with a metal helmet. After patrolling the room, he shakes his head with a muffled growl-like noise.]
Something seems to be stuck on their head? It was there when I got them. What do I do?

[action]
[ he's trying very hard not to laugh, feigning betrayal as best he can that Evie wouldn't just trust his advice implicitly! hurtful! ]
[action]
[Eve is mostly ignoring the laughter and fake betrayed expressions in favor of her phone.]
They still might know more about it.
And the... hat.
[That's the part she really wants to know about. The helmet seems excessive, and she can't see where it comes off.]
[The patchwork pupper is scratching at the collar part like it itches.]

it'll at least get Wolfwood in close enough to really look at Evie's new pet, trying to reach out to his senses to see if he can get a bead on what it's saying--or speaking, if it feels like passing a few words by ]
They'll definitely know more about it. I'm kinda worried for this one--most of the dogs with clothes look like it... matches them, y'know? Like Slappy. [ or Wolfwood's Ludicolo who's probably out in the gardens somewhere. ]
hey bud, you okay? Does it hurt? [ soft voice, gentle voice, kneeling next to Eve and trying to appeal to Type: Null's attention. ]

Not much of them matches, does it?
[Their front legs and tail also look like they belong to a different Pokemon altogether.]
[Type Null shakes as if trying to rid itself of the helmet, then eyes Wolfwood warily as the taller man addresses them. Their breath loud and slightly distorted by the metal trap on their head. But there's a growl-like... huff response.]
["Itches. Feels wrong... weak."]
["Smell is unfamiliar. Where?"]
[What place have they been brought to? Eve is looking expectantly between Wolfwood and the Pokemon, following none of this.]

That's a Type: Null. What the heck.

That doesn't sound like a species name.
[That's just two words smashed together.]

[Eve is trying to give it a closer look, while still giving the not-dog some space. Different material, eyes hidden behind it, but she doesn't see any give around the seams.]
Becomes Silvally? Will they change like Vash's apple friend?

[Hang on...]
Will this one also evolve that way?

Six.

[Oh geez, that's a lot of choices for a sleepy fuzzball.]
How will I know which one they want to become?

[It really is that simple: communication.]
[The skill that she's still working on.]
Nico could probably tell what they're saying, even if I cannot.

That's called a Type: Null... There's not a lot you can do about the helmet they're wearing at this point, unfortunately.
If it helps to hear, though, your new friend'll break through it on their own once you've bonded enough with them.
no subject
Oh... [That is a disappointment, clearly.] They don't seem to like it much.
[Another shake of the head, and Type: Null flops onto the ground in temporary defeat.]
Really? That's what they need? [A human bond... like a friend?] Why can't they break it now?
no subject
[He hums in affirmation at the first question.]
They can't break it now because they'll need a strong bond with someone they trust... that's what awakens their full power.
no subject
[What are Pokemon powers? Eve just has an Eevee that's soft and cuddly.]
... How do you make that strong bond?
[New goal for Eve: get Null out of that helmet.]

Just spending time with them helps! Though a good grooming from time to time sure will make them happy, and certain berries you can find in Kanto can help speed things along. ... If you want to go looking for those sometime, I can go with you to help identify which ones.
no subject
[Feeding them berries looks like it might be a challenge]
[But she's taking mental notes of his suggestions. Most of these they probably have supplies somewhere, with all the animals in the house. But special berries...]
Kanto... I think my guardians may have been there. They have quite a few of these creatures now.
Could you? That would be very helpful. Are you a plant expert?
