[The feed opens to Persephone standing in Blue Fish Park. She's... possibly smiling. Or as a close approximation to smiling as she tends to do.]

It seems someone else from my home has fallen through into this place. I am not sure if it si a good or bad omen for me finding a way out of here, but I admit, it is good to see him again.

[She turns the camera to...a wall of fur. She lets out a soft "ah" and starts slowly stepping backwards. Eventually, an enormous three-headed dog comes into view. He is sitting down, his tail wagging excitedly. Only one head seems to be focused on Persephone though. The second is snuffling at the ground and the other is staring intently at the Terrible Geese who are swimming in circles nearby, hissing. ]

This is Cerberus, yes, that one. I am unsure how he got out of the Underworld to find me, but here he is. I have instructed him not to attack anyone here- however, if you are foolish enough to antagonise him, I cannot guarantee he will not eat you.

[The head snuffling the ground whines, ears perked- one giant paw raises as if in protest of his Goodest Good Boy status. ]

As I am still living in the Zodiac buildings, he will remain here in the park until I have a better dwelling for us both. Again, please try not to get any heroism in your heads- none have ever killed him and I'd rather not have to spend my time picking you out of his teeth should you try.

Hah, he is- and as long as you do not bother him, he will not bother you, either. He tends to prefer his peace and quiet.

...Thank you. Out of anyone from home that could have been here, I am glad that it is him. I can tolerate him.

[He can't help being fond. A long time ago, he owned a dog. Or a few of them. But moving around all the time and not having a good stable home wasn't good for them.]

Is he fond of playing with... a very large ball, perhaps? He seems very well-behaved. I wouldn't dare feed him without your permission, however.

Naturally! Mortal imagination never quite stretches to the reality, I've found.

[The head watching the geese is starting to whine.]

...Tell me, are the Geese magical? He's been after them for hours and they seem unbothered.

I suppose it really couldn't.... There's another three-headed dog around the city but that one is... quite smaller than Cerberus.

[As for the geese...]

Honestly, I think magic might be the only explanation for the geese. Tangling with them doesn't turn out well for anyone who tries, and I think they might have some measure of immortality.

...No? It's always been this colour. If you have seen him depicted in other works of art, then I am afraid they can't always be relied upon for their accuracy.

[Jun freezes, realizing that the network has recorded his response. He considers lying for a second, but if this woman has Cerberus... she's probably a god.

didn't vash mention something to him about the cottage's "landlady", what was her name again? persephone? oh, oh. surely this said woman is just someone who's parents were just really into greek myth, right? surely, surely, vash isn't living in a garden owned by the actual goddess of spring and the underworld, right?

he has to check this out, he just has to. thus does dante, half-devil and demon hunter extraordinaire, saunter casually over to the woman and her incredibly large dog. ]

Isn't he a beauty? Not every day you come across a three-headed dog.

[Sure, Dante. She is the child of really big Greek mythology nerds. That's the BEST and MOST SENSIBLE explanation for the cottage's new landlady. Makes perfect sense.

She raises one eyebrow at the sauntering, for now, she does not comment on it. She'll focus on her dog for the time being.]

He is. I would say he's one of a kind, but that seems...not the case. He's better known in other worlds than I realised.

he stops a respectable distance away, head tilting to the side, just far away enough to dodge in case the three-headed dog suddenly didn't like the smell of him. it wouldn't be a surprise considering the last time he came face-to-face with a cerberus.

Well, myths have a habit of spreading. And a place like this? It's got a habit of collecting them all into one tidy handbasket.

I take it he's the Cerberus, then. [ then his gaze flicks to her. ] And you... the Goddess of Spring.

[Oh no, this keeps happening. It can't all be people's differing fictions. Persephone is getting a real taste of the multiverse and she HATES it. ]

...Did you see him for yourself? I'm trying to...understand how so many people have a different understanding of him.

[Sure, it's obviously a large monster dog, but he's still clearly her pet and Moxxie can't imagine anyone just going after someone's pet.]

Because he guards the gates to the Underworld. The number of heroes who tried to get through him, or who were challenged to attack him was, frankly, ridiculous.

[She waves her hand vaguely.]

And a lot of the residents in this city have that...vibe about them.

[That is a big dog. That is a big dog with three heads. That is a big dog with three heads that is also the literal Hellhound of the Underworld, Cerberus. He looks even cooler than she could have imagined.

How does she ask to pet him without exposing herself. Unsure of the answer to one of life's greatest questions, she turns on the feed and tries to play it cool.]

There must be some abandoned buildings you could clean out for him to stay at. Or maybe a big garage?

...That's not a bad idea, actually. Perhaps I could rent out a storage garage for him? He wouldn't mind being outside...honestly, he never HAS been outside the Underworld, but he might be.

It's only been a few weeks and she already sounds so tired.

I'd hardly call him mythical. He's as real as I am. Though the mortals do have a tendency to call us that, incorrectly, I might add.

[A very familiar head of blonde hair pops up not too long after Persephone’s post, having been summoned by dog. You can tell that’s what she’s here for because she has dog treats in hand.]

I’m not here to be heroic! [is the first thing she says to Persephone.] I’m here to shamelessly bribe him so I can pet him. He does so look like such a charmer.

[Weird thing to say about the guardian of the underworld, but Lucy means it.]

Would you mind terribly if I did? Pet him, that is. And which head does he favor…?

[Persephone genuinely likes Lucy, and enjoys her company- so he gets an actual smile from the goddess at her approach. ]

Good to know, I think you could give him a run for his money after seeing you last month.

[High praise indeed. Cerberus bounces into a little play bow, BORKING all three heads at once because there's dog treats!!!!! ]

Seen as it's you, I suppose I can allow my well-trained guard dog a small treat. The left head prefers the pets.
