WHO: Yuuki and the app
WHERE: The app
WHEN: October 1st (forward dated)
WHAT: Yuuki has Some News
WARNINGS: Yuuki swears
[The video opens up and--yeah, this is Yuuki's first video post. He appears to be in the process of packing things up, if his Pod (with Chibi as the driver) going around and doing just that behind him is any indication. Wonder what's that about.
Either way, it's not the subject of this video as Yuuki looks pretty serious.]
Shinomiya Yuuki aka Azalea with POKEGO. We've got a problem.
[He manages to make this a split screen thing so he can pull up and show off what to everyone else is just a bunch of numbers, letters, and the occasional recognizable word.]
Some time ago, Mikleo aka Wisteria got permission to borrow the tech Zodiac uses to monitor the Spirit Realm. He passed it off to me so we could get our own version of the program and tech and not have to rely on them for this shit. It's meaty, and so I don't bore everyone with the details, the T-L-D-R is with this we can start picking up on the gates and their locations. We can even pick up where the isekais will show up. That's the good news.
[Yuuki reaches over for his water bottle (filled with soda) before switching over to what's basically an image-map of the Spirit Veins.]
The bad news is all of this. This the vein in the sky. It shouldn't look like this. [He switches to a couple of charts. One chart has a fairly flat line with a few small peaks, while the bottom one has extremely high peaks and a slowly rising baseline] The top one is the energy readings for the Spirit Vein over Ireland. That's a pretty standard reading, all things considered, and Ireland's one of the bigger hotspots. [Nobody ask about Bermuda. Or Florida.] The bottom one is Kaisou.
[He takes a drink.]
I don't think I need to say it, but I'm going to: the Spirit Vein is torn to shreds. We got the first readings back and everyone started looking into it. Plants are growing way too much, we're noticing non-native-to-this-realm species of plants and animals, and there's weird-ass energy readings around some of the places that are more like the isekai arrival points than anything else. Blue Fish Lake is a big storm of spirit energy.
[Because of the fae in March, but he missed that.]
So, another T-L-D-R: good news is we can do readings on the Spirit Vein, locate the gates ourselves, and get to the isekais before Zodiac does. Bad news is the Spirit Vein over Kaisou looks like supernatural confetti at this point. POKEGO can't do this on our own, and I don't know if we trust Zodiac to do anything about it either, since this is their tech. Anyone else got any ideas?

Well, that sucks.

I guess if the solution requires something musical though, I'll be glad to lend a hand?

[At least he thinks that's the case.]

Off the top of my head and throwing baseless ideas at the wall to see what sticks: if it's a matter of high energy readings, then creating something to neutralize it with an opposing force or wavelength could have an effect? But that would require intensive research of exactly what is being emitted at such high measurements.

[Dan Heng resists the urge to rub his temples. This is giving him more of a headache than his past lives' memories.]
We still have time judging by these readings, so temporary measures can buy more time for a permanent solution.
no subject
[He really, really does not want to do that. At all. Ever.]
Do you know anyone who might be able to give us temporary measures?
no subject
[He's not going to fight it.]
I don't know about that, but it would be beneficial to the city if we could find a way to safely disperse or absorb the extremely large pockets of spirit energy so that they're at safer levels.
Personally, I'd feel better if we could find a way to artificially recreate the Spirit Vein in a lab environment for experimentation, but we'll have to take what we can get.

I mean. Look- look what happened to Atlantis.

[No thanks!]
The only problem is I don't know anyone who knows how to repair the Spirit Vein.

[He's just saying!! ]
I guess that's something we have to figure out. Preferably before it swallows us whole. Or at the very least...I don't know, figure out how to stabilise it.

My original proposal for containing the damage still stands. The Spirit Vein is aspected to an element every month, and our readings show as much. This month is a wind month, and next month it'll be an earth month if it follows the stable rotation that we've observed for a while now. I think it's worth creating a barrier or ward with the opposite element to see if it can cancel out the excess energy flooding out from it.
But we can't get too close to the Spirit Vein, or else we'll be putting ourselves in danger...
no subject
[So.]
Maybe round of up everyone of opposite element and get them worked up? See if that'll be enough on its own?

I'm one of those... isekais, I think you called them, I came from another world through a maze. If you want any assistance with either tracking or meeting with new arrivals, I would volunteer to help.

No, Ritsuka does not have the first clue about any of the technicalities involved here, she's just operating from vague impressions and what seems like a logical conclusion. Or at least, the assumption that the world must have a way to maintain these things in normal, occasionally unpredictable circumstances.

I have no idea. [Sorry, did you think he was going to be helpful?] Even if they have, they weren't torn like Kaisou's.

But, given my profession, I have quite a number of contacts who are capable of finding old books and documents--records of past events or, if I am lucky, perhaps information regarding old magic.
...This cannot be the first time in the many millions of years that the world has spun that damage has been done to the spirit vein. Perhaps never to this magnitude, due to modern technology, but.
Perhaps some record exists of this happening elsewhere in the past, on a smaller scale?
We could make some attempt to find methods that have repaired such a phenomenon in the past.
