Sakuya did shortly after I returned last month. He began to glow and his entire appearance changed. He is purple now.

[Weird. Takame will just send a picture over of his little friend, now a fully evolved Espeon in all his glory and wonder. He was looking up at the camera expectantly but decidedly not glowing. Except maybe the red gem on his head and his eyes like he's expecting a treat or praise.]

This is what Sakuya looks like now. I assume they look nothing alike now?

Kind of close, actually. At least compared to the other apparent options.

I see. He is somewhat similar. From what I've learned, they are or rather were Pokemon that could evolve into more types than any other. Still, I expected it to be more gradual as well.

I was unsure what to do when he began glowing then became an entirely different Pokemon in the span of less than a minute.

more or less. went from a small cat-fox-rabbit to a somewhat larger different colored cat-adjacent thing.

Mate, your cat got bigger in a flash of light so bright you panicked about it. The fact that he's all right despite how abrupt it was is probably a gift best not looked too hard at.
