WHO: Varian and YOU!
WHERE: Hyrule + Network
WHEN: Mid-August - post-Krusnik event
WHAT: Varian discovers Ultrahand and now that's everyone's problem.
WARNINGS: Varian discovers Ultrahand
[Varian had done as asked and stayed the hell away from everything until the Krusnik threat had been neutralised. Not it has, he's headed to Hyrule and found the Ultrahand mode on his phone and is, frankly, having the time of his life. As is always the case when he's in the spirit realm, he's stuck in his werewolf form as his fuzzy face appears on the screen, utterly delighted.]
There's an AMAZING phenomenon in this latest realm! Has anyone else activated the Ultrahand mode on their phones? It allows anyone who attempts it to fuse items together with this interesting green chemical compound to allow you to engineer new devices exponentially faster than by hand! I'm still trying to work out the chemical structure of the compound- little tricky, I can't get it out of the realm to bring it to my lab- but the experiments I have been running have been fascinating!
[No need to worry, it's not like the last time he did some experiments he blew a hole in the Zodiac building or anything. He turns the camera to some...weird fucking machine he's made with the aforementioned green goop. It honestly looks a little like a crab. If a crab had a cannon on the back of its shell. Ruddiger and his Zigzagoon are sitting nearby, chittering anxiously at this afront to god and man. Varian is undeterred, of course.]
So! This is Hyrule Experiment #45. I haven't got a name for it yet, buuuut, I think I've got it mostly stable now! All I have to do is pull this lever and-
[And the thing fucking explodes. The camera stays on Varian's prone form for a second- he dead?
...And then he immediately pulls himself up, shaking off the smoke from his fur, tail wagging happily. Nevermind, he's fine.]
Amazing!!! Okay, so maybe I need to use a little more stabilisation next time, nothing that can't be fixed! You guys have got to try this!

I'd just like to say before I or any other teacher get sent any messages, there are still 3 weeks before students go back to school. If you have any concerns, he has a father you can contact.

Awww, c'mon, it's not THAT bad. I just have a few kinks I need to work out, that's all. SEE? [He pans the camera around.] I'm doing it in a wide clear space, free of people! Safety
[He should get at least partial credit for the "safety".]
no subject
[Partial credit!!]
Still...have any of your Hyrule experiment builds not exploded?
no subject
[He'll take it!! Varian shrugs shi shoulders.]
I mean. Not yet, that's why we're on number 45, but I'm pretty sure I've figured out most of it by now. The previous explosions were a lot larger!
[COMFORTING!]
no subject
[PLEASE]
Well...I suppose smaller explosions are an improvement! What exactly is CAUSING the explosions?

Crustaceacannon! You gotta rebuild that donkus and call it the Crustaceacannon!
no subject
Oh my god, that's PERFECT!! Genius, even!!! I'm gonna name it JUST that. You should come through, this is a great realm! Lot of things for you to fight.
no subject
Sweet! I'm there, you need any help remaking that thing?
no subject
[That's not true, the Ultrahand does it for him, but maybe he just wants to watch his boyfriend carry heavy stuff around, sue him. ]

[Fugo, perhaps unexpectedly, perhaps not, looks thrilled.]
I've mostly been working with making vehicles so far, but it really is kind of incredible what can be put together with Ultrahand mode!
no subject
[He KNEW you'd get it, Fugo!!]
It's amazing! Honestly, it's so much fun working out what each of the pieces does and how to slot them together to make something else. I honestly think the sky's the limit here. Can I see something you've made?
[Show him the amazingness, Fugo!!!]

[He posts a photo of something he's built previously--it's a wheeled platform of sorts, with a truly ridiculous number of Construct Heads and Beam Emitters.]
This one's made getting around a bit easier in some spots that tend to be monster-heavy, but it's probably the least efficient of what I've made so far. As for my favorite, though, I'd say it's this--
[He turns the camera towards a much simpler device, this one just made with a steering stick, a small wheel, and a stabilizer.]
I was surprised how well-balanced it is when I got the stabilizer placed just right, and it's pretty speedy when it can move unimpeded!
no subject
This is really cool!!! I mean, if you want something to get you through the dangerous areas, it's perfect, right?
[He lets out a happy little noise.]
Oh my gosh LOOK at that!! That's so impressive! How many goes did it take you to get it right?
Video; un: Cactus
I see you've also discovered the explosion function.
Be careful with that.
no subject
[He'll let out an awkward little chuckle of his own.]
Don't worry, I'll be careful. Pretty-pretty sure I'm close to a point where the chances of explosions will drop by about 10%.
[He's TOTALLY got this!!]
no subject
[A shake of his head.]
That sounds like fantastic odds.
no subject
Right! Those are significantly better odds. I think I've done really well to get it that good after only 45 tries!

Only number 45? That's pretty good!
So how does this whole thing work? I'm guessing you can't just stick a bunch of random things together and hope it works. There's probably logic to it.
no subject
Right!! That's a serious improvement!
[He laughs, holding up some of his goop.]
It's definitely a bizarre sort of...technomagy I guess? This chemical compound binds them all together and gives it power, I suppose? It's like nothing I've ever seen before! But the trick is working out what each of the objects does and how they react with other - it's really interesting. I'm having a great time!
no subject
[Amal squints at it through his phone screen.]
Whoa... look how weird that stuff is. And the color! I can't believe it holds all that stuff together!

Do you think—
[He drops his voice to a whisper as if that will keep other people from listening in.]
Do you think it tastes zappy?
no subject
[He's trying to not downplay that achievement, look at him grow!]
It's fascinating stuff! I'm gonna study it as much as I can- I think it could be really useful in the future, even if we can't get it out of the gat-
[Oh no.
Father.
No.
...Unless???? He looks at it again.]
I mean. It can be pretty explosive? It probably has an- uh acidic taste to it?

Hey.. are you okay?
Maybe I could come over and try to use my shields before you test that again?
[Not that his friend couldn't take care of himself. But Danny worried.]
no subject
Pffffft, I'm fine.
[His fur is literally smoking.]
But you're welcome to come by and see it in action! I promise I'm in a super safe area away from everyone!
no subject
....Right. Were you keeping a safe distance too?
You know what? I'm headed over now.
no subject
...Mostly safe? Like. I didn't get hurt?
[He'll put in some helpful co-ordinations ]
But come by! This place is amazing and WELL worth the visit! You'll love it!
