[Abasi is sitting in front of his camera, chin in one hand, and a fancy sword on the couch next to him resting against his thigh.
He's in a black tank top, and there's now a green gem now on his upper chest.]
I'm assuming it's this place that embedded this green gem into my chest. It doesn't seem to do anything except sit there and be a distraction. [He reaches over to poke at it for a moment. He doesn't flinch or anything.]
And...[He holds up the sword fully in front of the camera] this appeared in the bed at some point. I believe it has something to do with my past life, because it seems familiar to me.
...I will admit I don't know how to use a sword such as this. I should find lessons.

It's also connected to that trinket I found last month, I believe.

Y'know, when people normally get themselves a lil' bling, it's not embedded in their chest. Did you just wake up with that there? Do it like. Itch or anything? It looks like it should probs itch.
IDK anything about swinging swords, but there's a whole mess of people here who do. Wouldn't be surprised if they had a whole sword club or something. Which is less fun than it sounds.
no subject
This trinket. Again, I believe it's connected to my past life.
no subject
Hmmm. Might be something to look into, unless I want this sword to be a fancy and probably deadly decoration.

[He wouldn't normally offer to help, but in the spirit of cooperation with POKEGO, he feels a tiny bit of an obligation.]
That trinket you mentioned to your colleague... I'm assuming you haven't seen one of those before.
no subject
I mean, it can still BE a fancy decoration, nothing wrong with that. But if you wanna use it to defend yourself against the whatever's here, probs a good idea to get lessons.
[Wait, no, he gasps a little.]
Did you say bed, singular?
no subject
And even those who come from their own worlds...
no subject
I should probably get it checked to make sure it's something that could be used for fighting and not intended for decoration only. Weapons aren't my area of study.
[He's distracted.]
Hmmm? Yes, I di----[fuck]
no subject
[He recognizes your alignment, sir, but he won't comment on it.]
For the moment, it's just present. Feels somewhat akin to what I would figure a healed body piercing feels like.
As for the trinket, I've only in glimpses and dreams of the past.
no subject
If it isn't causing a problem and you don't mind it, then it may be safer to leave it where it is. If that changes, do let someone know.
It's a Dendro Vision, aligned with the power of plants and the energy of creation. Visions are tangible proof of a person's ambition as recognized by the heavens.
no subject
Oh yeah! You should talk to Vergil about that sort of thing! He's got an antiques store called Auguries of Innocence. He loves stuff like this. He'd probs be able to tell you.
[This is the best day.]
Sooooo. One bed? Between the two of you? And you're roommates?
no subject
I'll have to pay him a visit. Sounds like a place I'd enjoy seeing anyway.
[Yeah, he's slowly realizing he's doomed.]
Yes, we are. Our schedules differ enough that we can use the bed in shifts. I've slept on my couch before, it's quite uncomfortable. I'm not horrible enough that he should sleep on something like that.
no subject
I'll keep that in mind. While it's not causing me any discomfort or pain, it makes me wonder if it's just flat on the skin, or if there's a fully crystal embedded in there. [He's like that sometimes.]
Dendro Vision... "Ambition as recognized by the heavens" Would you be willing to expand on that?
no subject
In Teyvat, when one's dreams and motivations were realized for the first time, exceptional people would receive a Vision. It would appear to them in a very dramatic flourish of elemental energy or it would be found among their belongings a short while later.
Visions were said to be handed down by the gods themselves, though that isn't completely true; they originated from Celestia, which is the seat of the heavens. The Seven Archons, however, dwelt on the surface in order to watch over their people.
no subject
Tell me. What was this "Archon" looking for in giving out their Visions?
Whoops I lost the text html ajksajklf SORRY
[There is more that he can't say, and he remembers not being able to say it either. But he can... say a little.]
Many kinds of people are granted Visions. What defines their ambition, what a Vision's Element means, and what they should do with it... Those are answers that the bearer of the Vision must find for themselves.
I remember what I've heard about the Dendro Archon, however, if you'd like to know more about her.
LOL. You good
I'd like to know what you know. Especially if I have some connection to her.

The Dendro Archon, Buer, was also known as the God of Wisdom. She was not only charged with guiding the people of Sumeru but also with the safety of Irminsul, which held the memories and the knowledge of all Teyvat. As I recall, she was a kind and gentle god who valued curiosity; she saw it not as the enemy of wisdom, but as its counterpart.
As for why you are connected, I don't know. Perhaps you knew something of her... wrongful captivity in the Akademiya.
no subject
She sounds interesting. Especially that bit about Irminsul.
[You ever just watch the '...' as someone types, then deletes, then types, then deletes? Yeah, sorry Zingles. Give him a minute to realize he doesn't care about being gentle.]
Sorry, some idiots did what to a god?
no subject
[He is so very doomed.]
You know the last time someone here told me they had a deal like that, they ended up banging. It's way less convincing than you think. Also, why are you people sharing the same bed if not for shenanigans? Can you guys not just BUY beds? That "there's only one bed" thing ONLY works in smutty stories, just a big ol FYI there.
no subject
[He can logic his way out of this, he's sure. He won't be beaten by an incredibly fab zebra.]
First, as I said, the couch is uncomfortable, and anyone trying to sleep on that long term is going to suffer for it. I'm not an evil person. [Just not a nice one most of the time.]
Second, you read those?
[He's not going to go into the 'we're adults' argument, because that would give him MORE ideas.]
no subject
Teyvat was a land of gods and monsters once upon a time, and so was this earth.
[Casual lore drop there no big deal.]
Some time before my current memories of that world, the Dendro Archon gave herself to protect Irminsul. As a result she lost most of her power and all of her memories, and returned to a childlike state. The Sages of the Akademiya discovered her in the aftermath, and rather than rejoicing that their god still lived, they cruelly imprisoned her far away from the outside world. I heard that was only able to see the world through dreams. After five hundred years of absence, the people barely recalled her name until a small group freed her.
no subject
[This logic is not helping him at all.]
Fiiiiiirst, I was talking about getting another bed, not sleeping on a couch. I'm not hearing any reasons for not buying a second bed.
And second: yes? Why do you want me to borrow you some? I can TOTES do that if you guys need some inspiration.
[Shouldn't have asked about the stories, Abasi. ]
no subject
[Zulius, whyyyyyyy.]
I could sit here and give you my reasoning, but I'm sure you come up with some of your own wonderful counterpoints. [What is logic to Zulius? Abasi doesn't know.]
No. I don't. I don't read books in that genre.
no subject
Hmmm. Small 'child', white hair, green eyes? Was this Buer in a form such as that?
no subject
That was her. The countenance of a young girl, with the wisdom of a sage.
no subject
[You don't have to say that with so much delight, Zulius. ]
The fact you're not even trying to give me any reasons at all is all the counterpoint I need. You did that one all to yourself.
[Teasing tone.]
Aaaand what genre is thaaaat?
[He just wants to hear Abasi SAY it. ]
no subject
Whatever you say. Are you going to interrogate Kaveh the same way the next time you see him?
[He's... not afraid of that.]
Smut novels? Adult literature? Depending, they could be bodice rippers.
[Do you want him to keep going?]
no subject
...
I think I may have known her.
no subject
Did you meet her while she wandered the city?
no subject
I think I was part of the group that freed her...
no subject
Well, that's nice.]
Then you must have been acquainted with the Traveler. They were also a good friend of mine. Resolute, with strength of heart and sword beyond measure...
Perhaps at the end of the long path, I shall meet them once again.
no subject
[Vergil comes across as far too fussy for such things. He lets out a little lilting hum.]
You better believe it~ Do you think I'd get a different answer from him?
[He SHOULD be afraid of that. He really should.]
Oooooh, I like bodice rippers, makes them sound CLASSY.
no subject
[eyeroll]
No. He'd say the same thing. I was mostly curious on if I should warn him before his next shift. [He's nice sometimes.]
Hmph, have you never heard that term? It's a great term for a specific niche.
[He pauses for a moment, why is he asking this, he doesn't know.]
Speaking of, have you read that Shades of Gray drivel?
no subject
They helped, I believe. Strange, those two.
I hope you do.
no subject
[He's a little proud of their meddling.]
They're like a whirlwind, turning everything upside down and allowing room for the new. All in search of their sibling. They helped me in my duties, and saved all of Liyue as well.
If anyone were to come tumbling through a labyrinthine portal, I expect it would be them.
no subject
[He says it affectionately, though. As much as he likes to shit-talk Vergil, he does genuinely consider the man one of his dearest friends.
He grins wider.]
Aww, no, don't warn him. Dropping stuff like this on him when he least expects it is the most fun part. Don't ruin my fun for me.
[He grins.]
To be fair most of the smutty stories I read don't involve bodices.
[At that question though, he grimaces.]
Those heteros made me upsetero. Like, who would pick that up and go "wow this is a great book." It's neither sexy nor is it a good romance. You could barely call it a book, and the movie was even worse! Like, chemistry? Don't know her.
