i have a question for everyone
i'd like to ask those who have developed magical abilities here when they didn't have any previously
but i'll accept help from anyone with this
when you suddenly get magic
how do you... use it?
i guess the better question would be how do you tap into it?
[There's a file attachment to the post; it's a photo, of what some might recognize is a Vision. The orb in the center glows green with Dendro energy, and the ornamentation stretching out on the sides are solid, polished metal, with etchings and grooves in them that form a pattern almost like piano keys.]
i found this at the shop a little while ago, but i haven't touched it since
i know magic can come easy when you have items like this to channel it, but i'm not sure how to channel it in the first place?
i'd appreciate any tips or advice

I've definitely gotten a few powers that definitely arent from my own world. magic doesn't exist where i come from, see, it's all musical fairy tale, everything 'weird' from where im from comes down to science, not magic.
usually when i get a new power here, though, it's like i can ... feel it? like there's some weird instinct to use it, or like, just the sudden knowledge that I can. like some quiet music in the back of my mind where it flows from my fingertips...
i just gotta think about it, and i have flowers growing in my hands, or the grass is moving around me because I thought about it.
i suppose it all comes down to the type of power you have? mine is really entrenched in plants and nature, so...
and oh, ive been to that realm like, three times already
its a pretty place, but it can be dangerous
but finding pokemon isnt hard, sometimes they even find you
...for better or worse...

in video games, green usually means either plants or healing, so it should be something like that?

from what i know about magic from storybooks, there's sometimes like a way to cast spells? either you use ... uh
some hand motions, or some magic word--bibbidi something...
who says that singing can't activate it, too?
green is definitely associated with plants!!
maybe try singing to the item around a garden or something...

some of the little critters are totally cool and harmless, like really smart pets!!! i have this weird yellow rabbit!
but i was once chased by giant bearlike ones who got me stuck up in a tree, so...

ANYway, this parasol is something from my past life, but the BIRD I got from the shop. His name's Chedders. When I've got the parasol out and he's on it, I can feel it linked to my powers like a power chord or something? It's weird. Anyway, I usually wave it like it's the campest, most stunning magical wand ever and it focuses the powers, I guess?
So maybe try that? Just bibbity-bobbity-boo that thang.

do you think knowing how to play helps channel magic better?
i know in some video games bards use music to cast spells...
but that's usually with an instrument as a focus, not a staff or gem

If music is your thang, then it'd make sense that'd help you channel your powers, right? I've got the light element and mine first showed up when I was on stage, so y'know, doing what you love probs helps it. Maybe it's got that whole emotional connection thing going on?
So maybe you've gotta get your groove on with some tunes first? You play an instrument? Maybe you mix it up with that?

Unfortunately my knowledge of magic outside of utilizing it with a Gunblade is limited. However, I've made trips into the Kanto realm before.
I have a Pokemon of my own who followed me out of it.
