Honestly with what he has went through the several days, Jamie wants to take a break from the hellish experience in raiding Zodiac’s palace. The strange memories he had gained, the self esteem issues, the increase in power, and those freaking strange dogs: it would be more than enough to drive anyone mad. And he doesn’t even have the heart to tell his family anything about his bizarre misadventures either. He needs something different: Something that can excite his need to look for news worthy stuff and to keep his mind preoccupied. Luckily for him, he has been hearing about two teachers looking for more chaperones for a joint field trip they are having at the local museum.

Sounds great, he could use some good refreshing trip to a museum so he doesn’t think twice in volunteering. Museums always have captured him in awe ever since he was a boy going on school field trips: he would often nerd out on the exhibits and being super eager to learn more about stuff. There is a big catch to this though: the teachers also told him that there has been some strange happenings at the very museum as well reports of exhibits and mannequins moving about at night and they think that somebody had hidden a priceless artifact somewhere in the museum as a prank. Plus he might need a fellow chaperon along for the ride too.

With no time to waste, Jamie heads over at the museum in the hopes to find his partner in there before the field trip can begin. He shows up in just a gray sweater, dark wash jeans and a pair of old black/white Converses. It is not flashy at not but he anticipates that there will tons of running around after kids in situations like this. Jamie has also brought along his wand just in case if he and his partner might run into something dangerous in the museum to protect the field trip participants. Can’t risk having the entire museum to go on a berserk while there are still people inside.

Rren would not be difficult to spot (They were never difficult to spot). They wore an asymmetric, brightly colored outfit. It looked like an unholy offspring of 80s preteen fashion and Lisa Frank had thrown up on them. Because, y'know, red hair, yellow eyes, and freckles didn't stand out enough. They had situated themself outside, leaning against a statue by the entrance. They were a responsible adult. They would not climb the statue...

...

At least not until after the field trip was over.

They waved at the guy that they believed might be their partner? At least he was the first person they thought they'd seen on the network before, and given that exhibits were supposedly coming to life? That seemed like a reasonable conclusion to them!

"Hey, are you chaperoning too?"

Please be their partner. Please. It was hard to disappear in embarrassment when you were basically fluorescent.

Thankfully the brightly colorful outfit is easy for Jamie to spot easily. He waves at Rren as he gets closer to their location at the entrance, finally somebody who can help him with chaperoning the kids and find that artifact.

“Oh hey there, I am also here to chaperone the kids as well,” he responds to their question in an eager tone, “I was also looking for a partner to help in looking after the kids too.”

Rren pushed off the statue before replying again.

"Yup. I responded to the listing from Mr A and Mr B. So I know we're supposed to have our own ah, scavenger hunt, as well. I suspect we will have the best chance of managing both sides if one of us can distract the kids while the other drifts a bit."

“Yeah, I agree with that too. It is going to be a big team effort juggling between keeping the kids busy and searching for what we are supposed to find in the museum,” Jamie nod in agreement, “For the first part of this, I can keep them preoccupied by telling them about the exhibits.”

"Cool. Because I am not the best at history. Too many dates and places and they all get scrambled for me. I can switch when needed, I'll be best on the science side of things or if any exhibit focuses on a culture's art, but if you need me to switch anywhere else, I can. Because hey, even if I don't know something, I can make up something so obviously wrong they can correct me. Kids love correcting adults, right?" They smirked and shrugged.

They pointed out the school bus pulling up. "Look alive. Looks like the job starts now."

“Yep, sounds like a great plan to me too. Whenever we reach an exhibit one is great at, we can switch places so one can teach the kids while the one checks around for any signs of the artifact,” Jamie nods in agreement, “I bet they’ll want to point out stuff if either one of us gets the facts mixed up… Oh wait, they’re here now?”

He turns to find the school bus pulling up at the entrance of the museum, trying his best to be as lively as he can be for the kids he and Rren are about to deal with, “Thanks for the heads up. I’m gonna try to keep up with the kids. Having three siblings sure does a lot to keep me up and about.”

"Wow. Three? I have none. But I can handle kids well enough." Rren chuckled and headed for the group offloading from the bus.

They gave a wave to the teachers which seemed to signal to the kids they were good to start directing their energy Rren and Jamie's way. Welp. Here they went!

Jamie nods in agreement as he joins Rren to meet up with the kids and the teachers whose plead for help is what led to their arrival. As the two of them approach the bus, the kids begin to come out of it and they run up to the two volunteer chaperons. They sure must be among the most kids he has gotten to see in a long while.

“Hi there kids. Are you ready to see the museum and all the stuff it has to offer?”

“YES!!!” the kids all cheer in unison.
