Well, going by what I've been able to gather in my few weeks here, it is a realm that runs parallel to this one that is full of magic and other such things. Ah, here, one moment--

[And Rhel will stand (that is a tail, Elliot) and go to get her Litwick from where it's napping in the little nest she made for it, just in case it starts dripping wax.]

[She just sort of tickles the Litwick and it starts to giggle.]

Ate all of my strawberries, as well.

[He watches this play out. It'd be cute if it wasn't so bizarre and Elliot felt like he might be going insane]

I'm not sure how a wax candle would eat strawberries, but we're probably long past things making logical sense now.

Oh, she isn't wax. I'm not sure what she is, but it certainly isn't wax.

[A beat.]

Or at least, not any wax I'm familiar with. Her flame never goes out and she never melts, nor does she feel like wax, so I doubt she's wax.

...I'm just not going to question it right now, for my own sanity. Living candlestick that likes strawberries, alright. That's a thing now.

My apologies. Everyone I've spoken to since arriving seems to have some idea of what all of this...nonsense is. I am assuming this is all very, very new for you?

Eheh....yeah, very new. The closest thing I ever did to the occult was use a Ouija board once at party.

Oh, it's a game. Some people think you can use it to contact spirits in the afterlife, but I don't know if that's actually true.

I tried it once at a party once because I was a little curious, but all I got was "apple taters" and I'm pretty sure the person I was doing it with did that on purpose.

...Hearing that that sort of thing is a game here has me slightly concerned. Where I'm from, that is a very, very good way to summon voidsent and get possessed.

Really? Is where you're from very superstitious or religious...?

Well, I suppose that's one way to look at it. It's just, well, when you are very much aware of things such as voidsent--beings from the Void, usually demonic--and ghosts are the sort of thing any adventurer worth their salt gets called into handle, you're a bit more wary about anything that says it will let you communicate with them. And that of course isn't even going into the primals...

That might be for the best, yes. Sorry, would it have helped if I'd started these explanations with "I was a teacher for several years" and "I'm not from your star"? The first one, at least, seems to explain enough to most people...

Yeah, as a teacher myself, I'm pretty sure our job is to explain things in a clear way to students....

Uh, to clarify - by star is that a fancy way to say planet or do you mean an actual star?

The former, I believe. I've never heard the term "planet" before arriving here, but I think they're the same.

Oh, I see! That's...a little confusing.

Stars are what we classify the sun here. Giant burning balls of fire, you know? Not really somewhere people can live.

....At least I think, my reality's been challenged a lot the past twenty minutes.
