WHAT: Yes, it's a "why is this suddenly on my phone" post. Why wouldn't it be?

[The video comes on to show another new face, this one being a young adult woman that some people might have seen around every now and then as she's been attending college here. She looks into her phone's camera with some level of uncertainty and a bit of annoyance as well.]

'kay, so, this app kinda popped up on its own and ain't goin' away no matter what I try to do. Wha's it even supposed to be, why's it on here now, an' how fucked is my phone? Anybody on here got any answers?

[She may have tried asking around elsewhere, first, but that didn't work; her question was constantly—constantly—being mistaken for being about other apps that she's never heard of herself, and any screenshots she tried to share all inexplicably ended up being unviewable by anyone but herself. It was weird, really annoying, and a bit concerning all at once.]

If it helps, your phone's probably fine. Nothing's happened to my phone since this app downloaded itself. Unfortunately, welcome to the "weird crap just happens now" club. We've been around since early January and it's bound to get stranger still.

I'm only slightly less new to this than you are, but apparently magic is and has been real, as well as other sorts of supernatural nonsense. We've also got people from other worlds around town?

[While awaiting a response, while holding her phone in one hand while continue to look at the screen, she goes to rest her other hand on top of the desk she's sitting at. As soon as she does so, she jerks that hand back up a bit as if she'd just set it onto something that she wasn't expecting to be there.

She looks away from the phone's camera for a moment.]

The hell? When did those get there? [...] Wait, I don't have a pair that looks like that...

[Back to looking at the phone.]

Don't s'pose it's normal for stuff to jus'...start existing in your general vicinity, is it?

[He tilts his head at the next part, considering her question.]

I've never personally experienced that, but while I wouldn't call it normal, I can imagine it's possible after everything else that's happened. I'm going to guess that just happened to you?

Yeah, some pair o' earrings just popped up on my desk, an' I know the only thing I had sittin' on here was my laptop. [She holds the earrings up to get them on the phone's camera. They're brassy-looking things with some sort of blue gems on them.]

Definitely haven't seen these ones before.

That's definitely strange. But... perhaps that's less strange than finding a pair in a store and thinking 'hey, these definitely belong to me' when you've never seen them before in your life.

... Which has happened to me. [Said as he flicks one of the cherry earrings he's wearing.]

Least they didn't jus'...appear outta nowhere? But yeah, recognizin' stuff you've never seen before is, uh, something.

I don't know, I think I'd almost prefer them appearing out of nowhere...

But, well, either way is rather unnerving, to say the least...

I'm not sure but it is starting to scare me. I couldn't delete it either and my parents don't believe me.

[He said with a mumble or two.]

Should I be worried about it?

It's— [She stops herself briefly, because it's at this moment that it registers that the one responding to her is a little kid. Maybe she should check her language when she's on this thing? She has no idea if it has any sort of censors in place but even if it did it's probably just for text, which she currently isn't using.]

I don't know. I'm gonna keep an eye on my phone to make sure nothin' bad happens to it.

I hope not because I've been seeing a lot of strange things.

[While a part of him was excited to see so many cool things happening all at once, he couldn't deny it.]

I think it's special that we can talk to animals or create light with our hands.

Somethin' like that is kinda special, yeah, but I can't do either o' those things. [Lita's tone here is an apologetic one.]

It's nothin' really special, I jus' know how to dance an' I was in band during high school. [Those are the important things as far as she's concerned, but they're both normal things. She doesn't have any really special abilities, at least not yet; that'll be changing soon enough now that the app has appeared for her.]

I think that's still cool! Not everyone know how to dance or play music! I know that I can't.

Welcome to the question we've been asking since day 1 of this app.

Your phone's fine, but putting it on silent has not helped me ignore it when it decides to ping us about something.

time to bust out the good ol do-not-disturb settings huh

[There are things she doesn't want to miss notifications for so she doesn't want to keep it 100% silent, but she can set those particular things to high-priority and make it keep quiet about other stuff.]

Good luck on getting that to work. They'll make you look at posts no matter how much you don't want to.

At least replies can be ignored.

I keep my phone on do-not-disturb for most of the day. It'll still light up with certain things.

even if you go into your notif settings and make sure the app's not getting priority?

You'd think it'd have that setting, but I can't find it, so I blanket set everything but texts from my family and alarms as low.

If you can find out how to turn it off, please let me know.

that's cool

It's not malware, just embedded in the OS. So far they are only using it to message us, and letting us message other users on this network.
