[Well, August absolutely did not expect to see this place opening up today but you know what? They'll take the goddamn pizza heelies and lawn flamingos and the goddamn magic stripper pole so he is so not complaining. He calls them up, says he has something for them he can't get out, and the next thing he knows it's gone and they're telling him to bring more shit in.

So he brings more shit in, gets it all processed, and starts to look around. There's a surprising amount of decent shit and--]

[That sure is the most magical girl looking dove pin he's ever seen. The sign says it'll grant the first person to wear it the ability to turn into a magical girl (or boy, or unknowable gender entity) and even if it's not true...he's gotta get it for Jun.

There's a small crash and a dismayed "caw" behind him. August turns around to go fuss at his birds, trusting that the pin will be fine for three seconds.]

[The pin is not fine for three seconds, but it's at least for The Cause. What is that cause? Why, the moment Ryouta wanders into the Gacha Goodwill and sees what looks like a magical girl transformation accessory, he knows his new mission.

He needs to get that for Jun. There's no way Ryouta can't get that for his best friend! So, he reaches out and takes it without any hesitation. The brunet's not sure if this thing is going to be super in demand, but he isn't about to take any chances.]

[Ryouta grabs it and a second raven flies down, sounding for all the world like a warning siren. August turns around to see what has Helena all pissed off, Julian tucked under his arm like a football to keep him from going anywhere.]

Shit, hey, can I get that pin? I need it for a friend.

[Ryouta yelps as a bird flies out of nowhere and screams like a siren. He blinks at August for a moment before looking a little sheepish.]

Oh, really? I was getting this for a friend, too. He's really into magical girl and cosplay, so....

[He runs a hand through his hair and then holds out the pin to August with a smile.]

Ah, you probably saw it first, so you can have it for your friend. Maybe there's another one I can get for 'em.

[Squirmy bird is squirmy, and Julian manages to slip out of August's arms to start flying around the store again, causing problems on purpose for some ungodly reason. Helena flies off as well, content that this guy isn't going to cause August any problems. She's a good girl, though, and just goes to perch on a shelf.

Julian found the free food bin. August dashes over, leaving Ryouta holding the pin.]

[Ryouta blinks. Again. Boy, Jun knows some characters, doesn't he? The brunet included. He's at least self-aware enough to recognize that much. Ryouta curls his hand under his chin for a moment before making a decision. He heads over to the cashier to purchase it, which the guy said that the stars aligned perfectly or something. Then, the brunet jogs over to August.]

Hey! You said this is going to Jun? Like Jun Nightroad? That's who I was gonna give this to, too! So, I went ahead and purchased it, but you can take it to them. Figured I'd save you the time or... whatever the hell they're using for money here. I doubt there's much else I want from here anyway.

[While Ryouta was doing that, August was chewing his familiar out and threatening to get the old training harness back out. He's in the middle of further threats to use Julian's feathers as spell components when Ryouta jogs over.]

Nah, I'd definitely do the same if I saw that. I'm not much of a con-goer per se, but sometimes I get a part-time gig during cons in the summer! Either at concessions or registration or whatever.
