is it.... normal, to have strange dreams of skeletons granting wishes
but then waking up and seeing that you received part of what you wished for?
i never really thought much about analyzing dreams, but the skeleton part was... strange...

Oh yeah. That just...happens here. A few of my friends have dealt with him. He doesn't seem to harm anyone. He just gives you a present for your birthday.

I know some of Corona's can be weird in comparison. But we also definitely don't have a talking birthday skeleton. I don't think MOST places have one of those.

Oh, that's pretty cool! Computers aren't really something I understand a whole lot about. [He only knows about synthesizers from working backstage at the school play, or he'd be asking her what THOSE are. ] But it's nice to have a piece of home in a place like this, huh?

it's not just about the computers or the instruments, though
it still has all the music my circle has been working on saved on it
that's what means the most to me
even if i have our finished songs on my phone, knowing that i haven't lost the rough drafts puts my heart at ease

It's in another world. From what I can figure out it's where this world's Germany is.

Hey, that's good! I know that the rough starts of work are still important. They might not be the polished piece, but they are the vital steps in making the finished project. Not only is it night to go back and remember how you got there- but sometimes going back a few steps is the best way to work out on how to improve something, right?

[Naturally, he's putting these though an inventor's lens, sorry Kanade, he can't help it.]

sometimes it's as simple as remembering a feeling i had when i was composing a certain part
if it's not something that winds up being used for the final product, thinking back on how i felt or what i was thinking when i wrote it can help branch out into something completely different

Yeah! Exactly!!! It's great to look back and kinda see what headspace you were in when you made something. It's just nice to remember sometimes, especially if it's something you're proud of.

And yeah! You can suddenly create something completely new just by taking a stroll through memory lane with something.

Oh yes, it was a perfect dress since I didn't have time to make one for myself. I was really very grateful.

i have a friend who can do that, and it seems... very complicated
but it's a very impressive skill

mmm, i asked for my computer and all the equipment i need to keep making music
i didn't get everything, though
but what i have is a start, at least

Oh, yes, I had to. I had a very small allowance for new things. I started with just mending the holes in the old clothes I had and then it became a matter of remaking old ones.

You're a musician? How wonderful! You should speak to Mr. Craig, he is the music teacher at Kaisou High School.

well, she doesn't remake old clothes
but she'll buy new ones and add onto them to create her own style

I sure do! I'm an alchemist! So lots of chemical compounds or robotics, things like that. I love creating new experiments.

I never went to public school before coming to Kaisou either, you would be welcomed warmly. There are a lot of classes to help people adjust.

I was only ever homeschooled as well.

oh, it's only been for the past few years, for me
for most of middle school and all of elementary school, i did in-person learning

it must be strange, then, to go from doing things one way all your life to something as different as actually going to school
i hope you were able to adjust well

Probably not the hihg-tech sort you're thinking of. It's more...I guess you'd call it "steampunk" than anything else.

No. They do not run on magic. They run on chemicals and clockwork. Science.

Oh, there have been some very big life changes for me, yes.

But... honestly, as strange as they've been, they've been lovely too. Much lovelier than I could ever hope for.

It's fine. I'm just not a big fan of magic. It's something I'm working on.
