The Fast and Furious: The Swimming Edition (voice: jcarter_news)
(The voice starts off with a very nervous tone from Jamie’s voice as he begins the conversation from the mens locker room at the swimming pool area in Kaisou University. He hasn’t gotten into the showers just yet for he has been shaken by what happened with him in the pool.
He has no idea how it did happened but he soon notices the minute he dives into the water, his already great swimming ability has gotten slightly faster than usual and it had to happen weeks into a major swim meet his team is going to compete in.)
Um, hey guys, I just noticed something pretty weird has happened to me right now. Don’t know how it happened so fast, but I just discovered that my swimming has gotten a bit faster than most of my teammates, twice as fast as they do. I don’t recall swimming this absurdly fast before besides pushing myself too far on a couple of times but now I absolutely do.
Oh gee, and it had to happen just weeks before a major swim meet we’re going to participate in. I don’t know how to explain this to anybody, including the Coach, without sounding like I’m making stuff. Please send in any help for a very confused swimmer like me.

And the weirdest thing to come out of this, I don’t think that they bat an eye out of suspicion when they saw me swimming so fast in the pool earlier.

Eh, people do that. For whatever reason normal people just don't see any weirdness from the spirit realm. They just make up something that looks more normal. My parents still haven't noticed that I spent all of last summer randomly turning invisible and falling through solid objects.

(Maybe he could use that as an excuse to look into the incoming full moon transformations even more.)
So your parents haven’t noticed you phasing through stuff or turning invisible? Maybe that could explain my family not noticing me trying to hide my water magic for the longest time.
no subject
Yeah, they probably think they're seeing something else. I've even gone flying in front of people before, and they just talk like they're seeing some kind of rare large bird.

So do you think that no one is going to look at me weirdly if I begin to conjure water or spells with a wand I got from last month?

Do you have any ideas?

Being the eldest child in the family can be tough: my parents didn’t want me to do overdo it and they just want me to be a good big brother to my younger brother and sisters but I tend to go way too overboard on that a lot. They can worry about me stressing out and juggling many things sometimes.
(He hasn’t mentioned to Ann about neither his teammates or Coach blinking an eye when they first saw him swimming this fast just yet.)

Could this place be turning stress into something that makes you swim faster? Seems strange to me...

Did you make sure you didn't put engines on your ankles first? ;)

You could just say that something came up on the day of the meet. Like a family emergency or something.
I had something similar happen to me, though not quite like that. But it was bad enough that I ended up having to quit the swim team.

I haven’t finalized it just yet but I could consider using the family emergency one.

I hope it works out for you, though.

Although weirdly enough the entire team and Coach didn’t seem to blink an eye when they saw me swimming ridiculously fast earlier.
no subject
Yeah changes like that aren't typically noticed by people who don't have some kind of connection to the Spirit World. That's why it can be hard to talk about.
no subject
No kidding. I have previously experienced a similar change when I first gained water magic as a kid. Got weirded out by them at first and I had to hide my magic growing up but I did got around to getting used to them over time.

[His tone is unmistakably taunting. After their last conversation, Moxxie has decided tormenting this guy would be hilarious.]
I thought if you had the skill, it doesn't matter what you turn into, you can do whatever you want as long as you believe in yourself, right?
voice
Um, yes I really do. But I don’t really want to make it look like I was using some sort of drug to cheat my way to victory. And so far, Coach and my teammates didn’t treat it as the weirdest thing they just witnessed in the pool.
Voice
Yeah, that was my point. That was supposed to be sarcasm. Personally, I just think it's hilarious that after your 'turning into an imp that people think is a possum is no excuse, you can have any job you want if you've got talent' thing, now the weird spirit vein stuff is making you give up things you care about.
