I'm presuming and perhaps hoping we're done with the Black Order conga line, for now.

So, I only wanted to say that my Circuits have un-fucked themselves to the point that I'm able to create healing potions--limited in both quantity and quality. Excellent for pain relief, decent for solving scrapes, bruises, and other inconveniences.

Considering 'other inconveniences' crop up at any given moment, I thought it was best to put myself out there as a slightly less incompetent healer than usual.

I think I can manage for a while. It's mostly just a matter of having the correct reagents and enough vials, the magecraft itself isn't something a Caster would find challenging.

You raise a fair point. I don't know that I'll ever grasp the workings of magic here, not entirely. It's been difficult to comprehend, and I can only use what I know myself.

Yeah. Mages in my world are people with Magic Circuits running through their bodies like a second nervous system, essentially. Coming here scrambled something or other and I've been having difficulty utilizing some of my magecraft.

I'd heard that people have ended up here from other worlds, but not that their magic suffered for it.

I was born here, just not in this city, and my magic has remain unchanged.

It seems like a common issue for people like me. A problem, but not a permanent one. I assume something just gets screwed up in the transition from one world to the next, I don't know enough of inter-universe travel to make a more educated guess.

Magic here works differently than I'm used to, so that seems like as good a theory as any.

To be clear, my ability's still limited. I can't just drop a case of the damn things on you, especially if that would leave me without any in case of emergency. But if you're in pressing need of it, I don't mind handing over a couple.

These healing potions you make, can they heal anything or are there limits? Could it... heal an arm that had been lopped off or say... a chronic heart condition or can they only the scraped and bruises you mentioned?

Afraid I'm not nearly that good of an alchemist. Besides, I don't think anyone can outright replace limbs like that.

[Humankind cannot gain something without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be--wait, wrong alchemy.]

Closing minor to moderate wounds is probably the best I can do, alongside the accompanying pain relief. Emergency stopgap or help with chronic injuries, basically.

More or less. Nothing special, but better than nothing whatosever.

Who knows, someone here can probably heal on that level or close to it. Sure as hell isn't me, though.

Effective enough that I use it myself fairly often. Lasts about a day or so, depending on how serious the pain is.

Are they effective against headaches or migraines?

I don't know any reason they wouldn't be, but I've never needed it for that specific purpose. If it doesn't work, I can adjust the formula used and figure out something that does.

I noticed I had something like that when I try to make more than one option a day. It's weird. Still, more healing is good, right? How different are they from conventional medicine?

That sounds like the easiest way to explain it, sure. Kind of like a misfiring synapse or...well, an incomplete circuit.

As to their differences, they're a good deal stronger than most painkillers and capable of closing your average flesh wounds.

That's something that's FOR SURE needed here. Even that'll help prevent infection at least, right? Which given what some of the spirit gates are like...well.

Right. It's not perfect, but it'll buy enough time for someone to get to a more capable healer if they need one.
