WHO:Zagreus and YOU!
WHERE:The park
WHEN:December, at various points, idk I'm not picky
WHAT:I had a dumb idea and no one stopped me, ie Zag gets to be a mall Santa
WARNINGS:tumblr levels of horniness for Zag probably

Zagreus hasn't really 'settled in' to Kaisou, in that he hasn't bothered to find a permanent place to stay. He's too energetic to sleep or even sit still for long periods of time, and while he's never going to totally adjust to sunlight and such he certainly has no objection to be outside. Though, it is getting colder by the day.

But it seems his natural friendliness and charisma counts for something, because there are a few Christmas themed events happening around, and as someone who rarely says no to anyone, Zagreus get roped into helping. (Nevermind that he has no idea what this Christmas thing is, other than... something that happens when his mother is in the Underworld, apparently.) Being a strong young man, moving things around is probably what he was originally signed up for, but some marketing savvy worker comes up with a much better idea for his talents.

There's quite the line going in the park, and signs around say it's a chance to meet Santa! For those from this world or have been here a while, that's the sort of thing that's so normal as to not merit a second glance, but-- this line is awful long, and there are definitely more adults than one might expect.

An answer comes in the form of the front of the line, where Zagreus is sitting in a chair, happily chatting away with whatever child (or adult) has come up to sit on his lap. The coat and pants are more clothing than he's ever worn, but apparently no one thought to give him an actual shirt underneath it so he's still wearing the tunic that only covers half his chest. The kids don't seem to notice. The adults definitely do.

Cerberus is hanging out too, back a ways to make sure no one really tries to touch him, each head adorned with a jolly Santa hat. He's here for the treats.

Souta's family might not have celebrated Christmas the Western way when he was very small, but that had little impact on his belief in Santa. Once he had learned about the jolly old man, Souta had accepted his existence wholeheartedly. So what he hadn't received Christmas gifts from Santa when he was little? Surely such a knowledgeable man would know which kids celebrated the holiday, and he had plenty of Santa's gifts in the years since.

Being a teenager had not dulled this belief in the slightest. So when he sees the signs to meet ~Santa~, naturally he gets in line!

He doesn't notice something is amiss until he gets close enough to see the front, where there is a much younger adult dressed like Santa and a HUGE multi-headed dog in the distance. At that point, though, he's waited long enough that he fears it would be rude not to see it out to the end. So eventually it's his turn.

Souta walks up to the chair, feeling a bit more timid now that his expectations have been dashed. "Um... hello."

Souta waves back, feeling much better at the friendly greeting. They can still get along, even if the young man isn't the Santa he was expecting.

"Merry Christmas! It's good to see you, um... Mr. Santa."

He uses the name, even if he's pretty sure Santa isn't so young. There are little kids in the crowd that can probably overhear at this distance. And who knows! Maybe Santa really is unlike the songs and tales.
