"I get that," he says with an awkward smile. "I have the abilities for it, I think. Even though I don't really know how to use them. But it would sound really weird to call myself a hero, I think. My past self actually was one, and from what I read about him I don't think even he ever called himself one."

He takes mental notes on that advice.

"Thanks." A slightly sheepish grin. "Is it terrible to say that I already kind of broke that part about charging in?"

He'd punched a velociraptor during the dinosaur invasion. You really couldn't describe that as anything else than charging in without thinking.
