The Witch (Katida Rhydderch) | Dragon Marked For Death | Normal AU

A: Back to School (high school students and/or teachers)
[It was no real secret to the people who actually knew her, that Kat was not looking forward to starting her next year of school, even if this was going to be her senior year, and thus the last time she'd have to tolerate it unless she actually decided to pursue anything after that. ...Which, wasn't particularly likely, or at the very least she wasn't planning on it, but plans could eventually change.

As has been the norm for her for years now, she largely keeps to herself, with exeptions made for anybody that she actually knows. Unlike previous years, this time it's also partly because she doesn't want to be questioned about the "weird hat" that she had acquired earlier in the year. She's not planning to actively push away anyone that approaches her, though, unless things end up crossing the line from "awkward" to "actually a problem for one reason or another."]

B: The Literature Wing (OTA)
[Once she discovers the library's literature wing, and more-specifically the fanfic subsection, Kat basically makes herself at home; picks out a small pile of things that were written for one of her more-recent fixations (that she's kept quiet about, so if you find her and didn't already know about it: surprise! she's actually kind of a nerd!), grabs a couple snacks and a drink, and then parks herself at a table to start reading while taking care not to make some kind of a mess.]

C: The Records Wing (OTA)
[She hadn't been planning to wander into the records wing, but for some reason, Kat winds up here anyway. For part of the time, she's mostly just browsing around, looking at the names or designs printed on the spines of the books, until an unusual, almost-blocky sort of design draws her attention. Pulling this book from its shelf, she notices that there's no name printed on it, only what reads more like a title than anything else: "The Last Magician."

The earlier parts of the text sound pretty standard for somebody that's referred to as a magician. ...then it starts getting to parts that sound a little familiar, then to parts that sound very familiar, before she starts noticing some details that she quickly wishes she didn't. It doesn't take long for her to realize that she remembers some of these things happening, that this record she's found is about the girl in her memories, and it doesn't take long before she starts seeing more things playing out in the back of her mind, none of them particularly pleasant.

Her distress at all of this becomes apparent soon enough, but she doesn't stop herself from reading further, not yet. Distracting her away from it might be a good idea.]
