I'm not good at this type of advice. I would usually recommend trial and error a lot, too.
He's very upfront about what he is and isn't good at. He can only help so much and he knows his limitations.
But, if you ever want a partner to practice with, whether it's just getting the hang of your powers or sparring or whatever, I'm here. I'm rubber, so there's not a lot you can do to actually hurt me. And I don't mind helping you figure out your powers or you just venting to me about something that sucks when it comes to figuring it out.
He remembers very well how much it sucked, learning his powers without any guidance. It didn't help that he had two older brothers at the time, doing their older brother thing and making fun of him. It pushed him harder to prove them wrong but he also recognizes it would have pushed a lot of people the wrong way.
