A bit. He smiles, wryly. Personally he'd always been skeptical about the notion of the Goddess of Seiros crafting the Heroes' Relics herself, and Edelgard couldn't have been more clear about her side of the story in her manifesto, but it's also hard to imagine someone building something so powerful without passing on the knowledge of how, centuries ago or not.

Anyway, don't think he doesn't notice those twitchy fingers, kid. "I wouldn't touch it if I were you, though. It doesn't like it when people who aren't me try to wield it. Really, though? I'm not sure how you'd get lightning from burning coal, but I guess if you could make a bolt mild and constant enough, it would look an awful lot like these lights."

Not for the first time, he kicks himself for his lack of diligence and skill with magic. If he were someone more like Lysithea or even Linhardt, maybe he could figure out how to rein in a thunderbolt's raw power and draw it out longer than its usual brief burst. If it could power things like this...
