"It sure is something," Luz said, sighing. "'Odd' might be downplaying it a little bit. If this place has somehow changed her to make her like this, I sure would like to know now. The last thing I want is Eda purposely made different to be a part of whatever this place's whole deal is."

Which, the more she thought about it, seemed far more sinister than she had even expected. If that was the case, she was going to need all the help she could get.

"It would be interesting if I was just doing casual experimentation, or at least, if it was how I wound up here, but that's not case. That's what worries me. I just wound up here unbidden. At least I've already made kind of a portal before."

But she was still worrying if she did something wrong by mistake.
