Send Off to Summer: Get Some Vitamin Sea (OPEN MINGLE)

WHAT: A final send off to summer until next year. A last chance to do anything summery before we welcome fall!

Summer is finally over.

[After some last minute planning from all of the Kaisou app users, Kaisou Beach has been set up to have an end-of-summer party. Food, entertainment, towels, pop up shops, and so much more have been set up in record time. What was originally just an excuse to use up a box of fireworks has now become a full celebration. Go catch up with people you may not have had a chance to reconnect with in awhile, or step away from your work schedule and touch some grass (sand?).

There's a stage to perform if you are a musician, along with some karaoke afterwards!

There's plenty of food to choose from--help yourself! There's more than enough to go around.

There's scattered bonfires to sit around and reminisce about the past few months. A lot sure has happened, hasn't it?

There's umbrellas to sit under and plenty of beach chairs and towels to lounge on--you've earned some rest, folks. Take that nap you keep saying you want but never actually do because of the threat of capitalism.

There's an endless stream of sparklers--go and grab one and light them with your loved ones. Make sure to watch until the last spark flies.

And finally, there's a fireworks show, set off by Lighter himself at eventide, when the reds and yellows of the sky mesh with dark blue. Party lights line the beach and tiki torches are scattered about to illuminate the area. Find a place to sit to watch or lean against one of the many palm trees.

It might feel a bit silly doing all this because of a single box of fireworks, but is there really any reason not to celebrate just being here? Between board games and dungeon gates, clawing your way back from who knows what... fireworks sound pretty good right now.

It's okay to just exist for one night.

[Well Anby made sure to dress up in proper beach attire. It's not hard to find Anby during the beach party, as she spends a lot of time near the food area. After all, this is where a lot of her friends are working. Sometimes she's in a lounge chair, humming along to whatever she's listening to on her headphones.

Other times, she's decided to help out the people getting food. Or rather, getting burgers. She has a whole picnic table laid out of various condiments that she brought for burgers and other stuff. When someone approaches, she tries to give her best... customer service charm.

Unfortunately, she only speaks in monotone]

Welcome to the grills. What meat would you like today? I recommend the burgers myself.

Hey, Bee, get your ass over here if you want the best burger of your life!

[She'll call out before heading over to the grill]

Lycaon | OTA

[Lycaon has shown up in his own version of summer attire: his cruise work uniform, ditching the gloves and deciding to let his upper Victorian ankles show. In his hair is a cute little hibiscus flower a child has given him as the final touch.]

Food:

[Lycaon had done his part setting up the food (after some strongly worded advice to not do everything himself), making sure everything was properly lined on the tables and watching as everyone takes their fill.

He's taken one of the charcuterie boxes for himself, waiting for people to take something first before he'll help himself.]

Please, everyone, take as much as you like. There is more than enough.

Sparklers:

[Lycaon always loved these things. The way they would crackle and spit sparks as it traveled down the string until it fizzled out at the end. It was mesmerizing to watch.

Now is no different, as he holds his in his hand, the glow from the firework lighting up that red eye in the evening glow. Just like summer's end, it ends with a pop and then it's gone.]

Fireworks:

[After making sure all of the box's contents were handed off to Lighter, he helped the man set them up in perfect intervals at a safe enough distances to be lit.

He's quickly shoo'd off back to the crowd, a bit amused at how much he's not being allowed to do at this point. He'll just settle himself near one of the dimly lit areas, eye casting towards the Waxing Crescent moon.]

It is hard to believe it has been almost two months since the app showed up on my phone.

[His whole life has pretty much changed since then...]

Jun| Bonfire | OTA

[While Jun was an introverted person, he still was pretty excited to have an end-of-summer beach party. He can be found at one of the bonfires, wearing a cute swimsuit to go with the evening.

Unfortunately, that's about the only cute thing going on, as he's definitely taking this chance to share ghost stories. If you walk up at the right time, he's just getting telling the tale of a certain cursed app]

... You see, while the God's App claimed to be a divine being that could predict one's fortune with incredible accuracy, but it seemed to become more of a curse. People who used the app would find themselves having freak accidents, like their stove setting ablaze or a car veering their way...

And then one day... it started taking souls.

[She nods. While her face is not very emotional, she's practically lowkey vibrating with excitement]

I do. As for which one... I'll go with your recommendations. I want to see to see your vision for the best Ash burger there could be.

[Express yourself.... with burger]

You got it.

[The burger itself looks pretty standard, but the collection of seasonings make it clear that there is something extra in the patty. Or rather, patties, because it's clear that "best Ash burger" includes two patties, onion rings (or at least onion strips fried like onion rings), some sort of almost-barbecue-but-not-quite sauce, whatever vegetables Anby indicates she might eat, and a blend of shredded mild cheddar and muenster cheese on toasted buns. He's not putting pickles on it, but they are there if she wants one.

Ash is forever thankful that his boyfriend will never, ever, ever rat him out for the research he did for "Good American Style Burger Recipes". Sure, he had his own ideas but sue him for wanting to make sure he doesn't fuck it up.]

[Anby will watch Ash work, not really saying anything besides nodding at suggested vegetables. There aren't any she'll turn down, rather opting to let Ash pick what he feels would be good on the burger.

When it's finished. She'll take the burger with a "thank you" before biting into it. She takes her turn with the first bite, slowly chewing it before swallowing. But it's clear on her face she really likes it. Her eyes are closed as if she's taking the moment to immense herself in the burger]

.... This is a really good burger. You did an excellent job at cooking the hamburger patties. The caramalization managed to trap in the juices, and you also well seasoned it. You did really great, I'm proud.

[She gives a thumbs up. Good job baby bro!!]

I'm a little surprised you went with an American style though. I was half expecting some more German influence. But then again, onions are a very popular condiment there, so the onion rings was a good homage to that.

[Ash can't help but preen a little, his tail wagging at the praise. He likes doing things for his family, fight him.]

Do you know how hard it is to get dried marjoram over here? Or German mustard? I love frikadellen but they're not happening. 'Sides, I grill, and you fry those.

Food

[Ash shows up with his grill and all the assorted extra kit he has and gets right to work setting it up. There is even a sign listing what he's willing to grill.

The only thing not on the list is "fish". This may be entirely to keep people from catching it fresh and bringing it to him. He does not under any circumstances trust you people enough, okay. Not with that.

So come talk to Ash, get him to grill you something or get him to sit and eat!]

Bonfire

[He is eventually removed from the food area and set to go chill. Ash finds a bonfire with a chair nearby and flops down with a groan.]

August Villareal | General Beach | OTA

[August has set up a few things, under a decently sized beach tent he bought specifically for this.

The first is a Sunscreen Station. August himself is slathered in the stuff and has taken care to get a hat and other protective gear, given how absolutely pasty white pale the raven-man is, and he wants to make sure everyone else who needs some has a place to get some. He has multiple SPFs and everything.

The second is a Beachy Tarot Reading. Yes he is on strict orders not to burn himself out on pain of "Nebiros causing a scene", but he's only doing this for app folks. He promises.

The third thing is a place to just cool the fuck down and maybe nap, safe from fears of getting hit by a ball or something.

The fourth and final thing everyone's favorite bird man has set up is...Jeu de Tarot, which he will swear is an actual game sit down and he will show you how to play.

Julian can be found all over, stealing fries and snacks from anyone who lets him.]

[She nods, thoughtfully as she takes another bite of the burger. She loves this burger]

[Hello, Anby. It's your fellow coworker who's been ushered to not be completely on duty. Though he will offer a cola out to her as a greeting.]

A burger sounds absolutely appetizing right now.

[His tail swishes, looking over to where Ash is grilling up a storm.]

Though it has been some time since I have had a meat skewer. [He's really letting his hair down.]

[Zelos came with his siblings. He wasn't much of a cook, so he didn't bring anything himself other than being the driver. He's made sure to dress up in proper beach attire, and certainly made the rounds to check out the various entertainments (as well as many of you good looking folks, oh boy!

But now as the fireworks go off? He can be found on the pier, watching mostly by his lonesome. In the light of the moon and fireworks, one might notice that he's wearing earplugs to make the experience you know, actually bearable.

He seems to be in a decent mood, despite his solitude, just taking a moment to enjoy the end of his favorite season.]

[Lycaon has found a stray Julian hopping along the beach, looking for some snacks. Crouching down to beckon him closer, he holds out some nuts from the charcuterie box he held under the crook of his elbow while his other hand is offered for the bird to perch.]

Of course you deserve some treats. [A pause, as he listens to the crow.]

So you are Julian. A pleasure to meet you.

[His eye lifts, casting upon August not too far away.]

Ah, you are the tailor I spoke with.
