[ Molly doesn't remember falling asleep, but he sure remembers waking up. body stiff and sore from spending what little time he did sleep tangled up with Hugo on the couch, the need to take a piss the thing to finally pull him away from his emotional support vampire. he padded groggily toward the bathroom, barely registering anything as he did so.

what little sleep he had manage to have had been lousy to say the least, that familiar nightmare of Glory Run playing in intricate detail every time he got comfortable. with any lucky the nightmares didn't affect Hugo's quality of sleep, thought in truth Molly was positive the other man's sleep was about as restful as his own.

it was the promise of pancakes that kept the tiefling from climbing into his lumpy bed after relieving himself, and fuelling his decision to take a cold shower to wake himself up. thus he re-emerges from the bathroom a good twenty minutes shirtless (tattoos on full display) and barefoot, wearing tight fitting slacks from the night before only because of the impending company. ]

Gods, 'm starving.

[ Molly's assumption about Hugo's sleep was correct. The vampire was a wreck. Mollymauk had gotten up and left for the bathroom, but the blond was still face down with a halo of spun gold around his head. With everything else they did last night, take care of himself was not on the docket. His arms curled around his face, blocking out the light streaming in the bare windows.

Twenty minutes of the sound of the shower running in the background, and Hugo spends it face down, trying not to exist. He felt as sleepy as he did when they went to bed, but he was aware that it wouldn't come for him, nor would it be fulfilling. The headache that came with it was unwelcomed, but expected. Slowly, he turned over onto his side in that uncomfortable bed, groaning unhappily. There was no hope that he was going to be coherent before company arrived.

It was too early.

In his slow pace and side laying position, the bruises on his chest were evident in their clean lines and spade-like shaping. It was the curse of being as pale as the dead, inattentive to his wellbeing.

His ears twitch at the sound of Molly talking, one blue-grey eye opening to inspect the light and then shut again. What if he waged war against the sun? What then? ]

[ far too early.

it's horribly tempting to just go back to bed, pull the covers over them both until the morning became the afternoon then the evening. neither of them are morning people, but someone has to let Lycaon and Caleb in when they arrive. and you know what? if Mollymauk has to be up and passably coherent when company arrives, so does Hugo. ]

Wakey wakey, Sleeping Beauty.

[ he strides over to the bed and sits down beside the blond, gently grabbing a wrist to lift off shielded eyes. ] You look like shit. [ he smiles, apologetic, leaning down to press a kiss to the top of Hugo's head. ] C'mon, lets get you some water.

[ Hugo spent all night taking care of him, it's Molly's turn now. ]

[ It was the only word he could get out that didn't end up sounding like a groan of woe at his early morning plight. Why did he decide this was a great idea again? Why would he ever resign himself to being awake with the sun? His mortal enemy. The bane of his fragile existence? His arms were being moved and Hugo sounded like he was dying. At least let him become dust in peace.

Slowly, his eyes opened again, fluttering until the streams of light didn't hurt his eyes. Blurry eyes focused on Molly, or attempted to valiantly while his mind tried to comprehend water.

Hugo's eyes close again, his body going limp and letting the shadows take him. If Molly wanted to help him get water, he would at least give something Molly something much easier to move from place to place.

So, instead, Molly now has a disheveled, fluffy white bat in his bed, wrapping his free wing over his face. ]

[ what?

what?

he was going to make a comment about Hugo being dramatic when it all but died on his tongue, instead replaced with a breathless laugh as the handsome blond he had in his bed instead became a fluffy, disheveled white bat instead. ]

Since when could you turn into a bat?

[ without hesitation Molly scoops the creature up into his arms, cradling him like one would cradle a baby. his beautiful, magnificent, devilishly handsome friend can turn into a bat! and he's adorable! the upcoming breakfast can horribly for all he cares, this right here as just made his day─ no, his entire week. ]

Aren't you just the cutest like this. [ it does make it easier to stand up and move to the kitchen, grabbing out a short glass to fill with water one handed. the other makes certain to keep Hugo tucked again. ] I've got some painkillers stashed away if you want them, but unless you wanna drink dusty water you'll have to get big again.

[ There were no benefits to being big again. He got all the way to the kitchen in his bat form. It was already far more efficient! Dusty water, however, was not appealing. He could not imagine the consistency of painkiller water, much less the taste. His eyes open again, looking up and around, his small head lifting.

The shadows take him again and the full weight of the vampire leans against Molly's side, his eyes closing again as his head comes down on Molly's shoulder. It only lasts for a few moments, and then he was leaning the other way, putting his weight against the counter instead so Molly could continue what he was doing. ]

On some level? Always. Successfully? Recently. What time even is it? Why must the sun always exist?

[ without missing a beat Molly wraps the arm that had been holding him around his waist, steadying the man as he leans on him. even as Hugo leans the opposite way Molly keeps an arm wrapped his waist, effortlessly keeping hold even as he reaches up and opens an overhead cabinet. ]

Early, too early. [ those years in the circus in his past life, the years of being made to preform in this life, all of it makes Molly rather adept at moving about while staying tethered. flicking the box of painkillers out of the cabinet with a single claw, only to catch it with his tail. ] Love, I know you're not a morning person but you look like we went on a bender last night.

[ depositing the box next to the glass on the bench Mollymauk tilts his head, a worried look creasing his features. ]

You alright?

[ Slowly his eyes blinked, trying to be present while feeling that arm feeling him in place. He'll have to thank Molly when he can think straight. Hugo turned his head a little, watching the bottle fall, staring at the wall where it previously fell past. Goodbye bottle. ]

It will be fine. I warned Lycaon.

[ Bat brain is buffering. He's trying to re call why he would look so bad. Oh, right. ]

Hypoglycemic vampire. Iron. Sugar. [ His hand reaches up, resting against Molly's face, fingers easing up to the worry that creases at his brow. ]

That's what breakfast is for.

[As if on cue, there's a rhythmic knock at the door, evenly spaced and perfectly timed.

Lycaon had been up for quite some time--despite his affinity for the night, he was also an early riser. He had to say, he was surprised by the text from Hugo that Caleb had been invited as a last minute addition. That is...until he found out the reason why. Retaliation for using 'boyfriend' to describe Hugo. He had to admit that was fair play, as neither of them were in a place to reconcile that term with each other. He'd granted Molly the ultimate grace by cutting off the feed, but Hugo would not be nearly as generous. Here Molly was making a second floor when the foundation was drying cement.

The early text worked out in the end, as Lycaon was already just waking up. It gave him time to prepare a blueberry syrup and sugar the strawberries he'd bought the day before, as well as whip up a whipped cream. Molly had requested blueberry pancakes, and Lycaon was not one to disappoint when it came to preparing food for people. If he was going to make pancakes as food therapy, then he was going all out.

He stood at the door, dressed in a far more casual attire than usual. It's not like he had a job to go to with his enforced PTO, anyway. Almost instinctively, he pulls out his pocketwatch, making sure he isn't too early that they might still be clinging to the last dregs of sleep.

His eyes drift to the large bag hanging off his elbow. He'd shopped rather generously, making sure he had more than what they probably could eat in one sitting, even with the surprise addition of Caleb joining them.

Eggs, Bacon, Souffle Pancakes, French Toast, with some cut up sugared strawberries and blueberries. There's a bottle of orange juice in his hand for a certain hypoglycemic. He'd even indulged himself a little and got rather thick pieces of bacon, almost comparable to a hamsteak.

He's a carnivore. Sue him.

He regrets he never got to ask Caleb his preferences, but at least all the basic breakfast options were covered. If not...well. He can run to the store real quick.]

Molly?

[His voice sounds behind that door, just so they know which guest it is. He knows one is considerably more stressful than the other.]

Hypoglycemic vampire... huh. That's new. [ Molly leans into the touch trying to force the worry from his expression with little effect. ] Had to be different from your blood drinking cousins, did you?

[ honestly? he has no idea how any of that works. majority of his vampiric knowledge comes from what pop culture told him and not once has he ever heard of a hypoglycemic vampire. his kitchen is filled with little that can help the blond. the fridge has a few bottles of alcohol he managed to lift off some of the more shittier bars, and his pantry is thread bare. why bother stocking up on food when he had no real intention of sticking around for long?

part of him wishes Hugo's problems could be solved with just a bit of blood, he's got plenty of that and would offer it willingly. ]

I'll be better stocked next time you stay over. Hate seeing you suffer like this, love.

[ his tail twitches anxiously, red eyes all but bleeding with worry and guilt. he knows he doesn't really have anything to be guilty about, they never really had 'morning afters' where both men had been present. and yet he still feels guilty all the same─ until the knock at the door makes him all but leap out of his own skin.

fuck, right, Lycaon. Molly's gaze flicks to the apartment's door, then back to Hugo, mumbling "I'll get it, you stay here" before planting a kiss to the vampire's cheek and detaching himself. he had almost forgot the whole breakfast situation, worry and self-condemning guilt hi-jacking his thoughts. ]

[ thankfully the time walking from the kitchen and apartments door is long enough for Mollymauk to gather himself, allowing him to greet the wolfman with the level of cheer he's known for. ]

Hey there handsome─ [ Molly's eyes widen at the sight of the bag, a laugh catches in his throat. ] Holy shit. You bought enough to feed and entire village there, Lyly. Looks like I'll be eating leftovers for the next few days. Get in here, need you to start working magic before Hugo falls over and knocks himself out or something.

[ the lavender tiefling steps aside ushering Lycaon in, worry bleeding back into his cheer. ]

[Thankfully, he doesn't have to wait too long. His hand only has enough time to put away that pocketwatch before the door opens before him, revealing the Tiefling that has...quite honestly seen better days. The bags under his eyes could make a pack mule blush, and his hair was quite disheveled, likely from tossing around unconsciously. He couldn't imagine Hugo looked any better either, all things considered.]

Good morning, Mollymauk. [His voice tries to maintain the same cheerfulness (for Lycaon) but he can't exactly hide that hesitating worry. There's no point in asking 'Did you sleep well?' with him...the answer was all but obvious. His gaze instead turns to the bag, lifting it up an inch or two as its addressed.]

It felt just. While I may not be a healer, I have found that good food has the same effect on the body and soul. I wanted to make sure there was plenty of it.

[Also, he knows your type. There ain't shit in that pantry. ...Wait. Lyly? Is he a purse dog now? My goodness, he sure is collecting all sorts of pet names... No matter. It's infinitely better than Babygirl. And Molly was the one who created it. It passes.

He walks in gracefully, the clicks of his metal heels sounding against the floor as he takes in the sight around him. The place was...in need of everything, really. Furniture was the bare minimum, he swears he could see dust lining the windowsill...It was very clear Molly didn't intend to use this place for long. He'll have to look at that later.

Molly's observation of Hugo told him everything he needed to know, and his lips thin into a small black crease on that snout. He had a feeling...

But his one free hand reaches up to brush some stray hair out of Molly's line of sight.]

Not to worry, he'll be back to his old self soon. He has had hypoglycemia since we were young, and as a vampire, he naturally has low iron levels. When these two hit him at the same time, he becomes incredibly sluggish. [His other hand reaches up to shake the single serving bottle of orange juice he bought.] This should hold him over until food is made.

[He wastes no time, either, making his way to the kitchen and seeing the crumpled mess that was the vampire in question. Setting the bag on the counter, he frees the arm it was looped around, pressing the cold, orange juice to Hugo's cheek, pulling out a claw hair clip to offer him with the other.]

Here.

[His voice was softer, just for a moment.]

Very many blood-drinking siblings.

[ It was a correction made without thinking, without care. It might have even been the first thing about his family that he's told Molly ever, along with the first tidbits of himself. They were both staying, so what was a little honesty between runaways?

Hugo remained leaned against the counter, his sight a myriad of colors and auras like he was peering through the layers of reality. Sounds happened around him, and they also sparked to life in his eyesight as colors, rainbow waves that ripped across the wood veneer flooring. Metal was a different color, it sparked sharply against soft wood, pushing colors like ocean waves instead of the soft rainbows.

The cold was a shock to his system, blinking until the colors ebbed, and the cold was all his mind could latch onto. Hugo reached up, putting his hand around the bottle. Reaching for the claw clips to a swing and miss, but he got it on the second go.

With a groan, Hugo turned, shuffling his way to the couch. ]

Take mmmm mf Molly.

[ Well, they were words in his head at one point. Now they were mumbles, and he was a golden lump on the couch, slowly sipping orange juice. ]

[ siblings? he'll file that away for later, when he isn't distracted by Lycaon's reaction to the nickname and his subsequent judgement of the living space. ]

Still workshopping it, don't get your panties in a bunch. [ the door closes with a click before Molly turns around on his heel and saunters back over to the kitchen. he watches Lycaon take out the bottle of orange juice and hands it over, expression growing fond with the wolfman's softening and Hugo's fumbling of the claw clip. ]

I'm fine, by the way. Stomach isn't trying to eat itself just yet. [ red eyes look to the golden lump on his couch, then back to Lycaon. yes, he looks like shit. the cold shower he took earlier had only been to wake him up, so it did little to help with his general appearance. ] It might sound horribly stereo-typical of me, but wouldn't fresh blood help with that? With the iron levels, at least.

[ they are both staying now, in this city. so he ought to make an effort to learn these things now, so he can be of better use to his vampiric friend. especially so now that the man in question has a key to the apartment.

hmm... he should probably get a third key cut. for no particular reason. ]

[You better be. That look says you're going to need some blankets over that couch and coffee table books you'll never read. Also his panties are perfectly unbunched.

But now that Hugo's been taken care of, Lycaon will round on Molly himself, a hand going to his chin to take a look at those eyebags, his own eye narrowing as he tilts it back and forth.] I had a feeling you would say that, so I saved you my disbelief.

[He takes out a small comb from his pocket to fix a bit of Molly's hair that was left tangled from the shower as he contemplates his question.]

I can't imagine it's a socially acceptable way of balancing your iron levels. Humans would panic at the bite marks. It may also be personal reasons..his vampire side comes from his father. But he can answer better than I could.

[Once that's fixed, he smiles and snaps that comb back. Fixing yourself up can do wonders for your mental health.] I wont keep your stomachs waiting. I've already started the whipped cream and finished some blueberry syrup this morning. [He turns to the bag, almost instinctively dipping into it as he pulls out the syrup already bottled, and the bowl of whipped cream to put into the fridge. He's also got a flat griddle pan. Don't ask how he fit that in there.]

Human's would panic.

[ He agrees after another sip. His head as devolved from colors to dull pain. Thoughts were still slow-going, but they were going. A bit more orange juice and care, and he can maybe resume his normal level of chaos.

The question was a normal question, although not one he got very often. It wasn't every day he sat in the company of people who realized he was in truth a vampire. His head went back, his eyes scanning up the wall to the ceiling with no intention at all except to feel like he exists in the room he's sitting in and prepare his will to move this tired meat sack. ]

It's easier to kill someone if you give in to hunger, and I have been under a very strict no kill rule.

[ His eyes blink slowly, knowing he shouldn't continue, but the brain is still smooth. ]

That adherence has been nothing but headaches. Yet, I persist.

Humans panic over everything, but as we can all clearly see I'm not human. [ his tail flicks about almost pointedly, red eyes flicking between both vampire and wolfman. ] Instead of chowing down on someone random you could find someone you know and trust.

[ Molly can't do what Lycaon is, he can't cook for himself let alone for someone else. why not bleed a little for someone he cares deeply for? he doesn't mind when he thinks about it, he used to bleed all the time for others. to help them, to fight them. ]

And wouldn't be the first time I walked around with bite marks all over me. [ he gives them both a toothy grin, eyebrows wiggling suggestive. ] I wouldn't mind being your personal juice box, it'd be kinda hot. But it's just a thought.

[ his stomach gurgles at the mention of food and Molly's attention snaps back to Lycaon, expression turning inquisitive as the wolfman pulls out the whipped cream, syrup bottle, and then the flat griddle pan. ]

Just what time did you wake up?

[Not this again. Lycaon's tail twitches as he pulls out the carton of eggs, lips creasing as his head turns towards the sulking bat.]

I will kindly remind you that you took that oath during Mockingbird's creation of your own free will. You will uphold it. [Otherwise, there -is- no Mockingbird.]

[Molly's proposal makes him go silent, an egg of the group he set on the counter rolling towards the edge, inching its way off and towards the floor only for it to be bounced back up by the fluff of his tail, snagged in his claws a second later. He knows Molly's doing this out of kindness--it is the 'easier' method of managing those levels, and it's more Molly's image that would be at risk, something he gets the feeling he doesn't really care too much about anyway. He was someone they could trust regarding it, and Lycaon did have a lot of ground to cover in learning to trust, himself...but.]

In my humble opinion, before you can even think of offering yourself as a personal blood bag, you need to practice self care.

[His ears fold back like Molly just walked in and picked up his chew toy. Don't notice. He's going to quickly move on--]

I have been up since five o'clock. Hugo had texted me around the time I was getting out of bed, so I've had time to prepare. [He'll just pull out that bag of coffee to go load up the machine now.]

[Caleb feels like he barely slept last night. Between the memories that the conversation with Mollymauk had stirred, and the abrupt invitation to breakfast to be anxious over, he feels like a raw nerve.

He's at least made every effort to be presentable. A clean button-down shirt with sleeves rolled up, hair washed and brushed into its natural waves, beard trimmed into shape. It doesn't do anything about the bags under his eyes or his obvious worry, but it's something.

He shows up at the address he was given precisely at the appointed hour, with Daisy sitting on his shoulder (as her presence was requested at the end of his meeting with Mollymauk). With a deep breath, he knocks firmly on the door.]

...Hallo? It's Caleb. [He holds up a plastic grocery bag in front of the closed door.] ...I brought butter and syrup.

[He agonized over that choice too, not wanting to show up empty-handed, not wanting to insult Molly's friends by showing up with a purchased dish as if he doesn't trust that the cooking will be good. This is the compromise he came up with.]

Am I the only one who picks locks to enter places...

[ He mumbles into his orange juice, taking a longer sip. It was kinder to drink his juice than start a fight with Lycaon about exactly who he was threatening with that little quip about his oaths. Hugo was SO SURE there was only one mocking bird in the apartment at the moment and was opening his mouth to say so until the knock came.

Now his attention was on juice, and combing his fingers through his hair to try and look a little more presentable. He needs more time for his legs to work and more juice for his brain to work. Thus, he was stuck there in a mild daze with his fingers getting caught in tangles where they just ... stop.

What was he thinking about again? ...Right, the lock.]

Molly can't escape if he has to open the door.

[ Molly whistles at the save, only for his expression to become exasperated a moment later. it's not something he wants to push, he only wants to hold out the proverbial branch as it were─ an offer to be taken should all others fail them. in the end of the day Mollymauk is kind to a fault, often sacrificing his own time and well being in order to aid those closest to him. Hugo is one of those people, he's been the only one of those people for years now even with their continuous partings.

and Lycaon is quickly becoming one of those people too. ]

I take care of myself plenty. [ lets not talk about what Mollymauk's definition of the word "care" actually is, it doesn't matter. ] But I can promise to eat my greens instead of tossing them out the window if that makes you feel better─

[ the tiefling freezes, the voice from behind his front door sharp in his ears and even sharper still the comment of escaping from his still couch locked friend. he makes a face, similar to the kind of face a cat makes when smelling something they don't like and turns to the vampire. ]

Escape? I wasn't planning on escaping from my own home! [ and yet he can't help but sound as though he had been caught. ] Yeah, yeah, I'll go answer the door seeing the two of you are so busy.

[ Lycaon with the coffee machine and Hugo with his inability to walk, assholes the both of them. Molly sticks a forked tongue out at the blond as he pushes himself off the island counter and moves to the door for the second time that morning. pausing only to quickly run a hand through his freshly combed hair, purposefully messing up his purple locks.

right. the door. just open the door. just grab the doorhandle and open the door. ]

Hey there, Magic Man. [ with the door opened Mollymauk fixes Caleb with a toothy grin, leaning against the doorframe in a manner that could only really be called seductive (or at least as seductive as he can with his stomach twisting up in nots). shirtless, bare foot, and with messy hair. ] Fancy seeing you here.

[ ........ you invited him, idiot. ]

[Caleb is still offering up a plastic bag of pancake fixings when the door opens, and he lowers it quickly. It is too early in the morning for this, especially before he's had any coffee or breakfast. He fixes Molly with a tired look that isn't interrupted by the way his face is slowly reddening.]

I believe I was invited. May I come in?

[Daisy trills for attention from his shoulder...and then leaps down to the floor and darts past Molly's feet.

Caleb sighs very heavily.]

...May I please come in and retrieve my cat?

[paraselenic]

[That's correct, Hugo, you are the only Mockingbird here. Which is why he won't rob you of the moral superiority you have over him by breaking the oath and putting them on an even plane once more. He's thinking of you, really.

It does touch him though that Hugo has Molly to fall back on, though. Which is honestly why he didn't shut that idea down to start with. This is how much he likes you, Molly. It should not be understated.] Excellent. You should be eating those, anyway. [He will be checking your window.]

...[The knock sounds, and Lycaon's ears swivel in the direction of the door. That must be the man of the hour. He won't waste any time then, getting out a bowl to start mixing together the meringue for the souffle pancakes, as well as cleanly cracking a few of the eggs into another for the thick toast to soak in. A simple whisk of the fork turns it into the proper bath for it, and in the slices go.

He'll rotate them in a second. Once he hears conversation at the door (Molly? That's what you're leading with?), he walks out to the sitting area towards Hugo to grab that claw clip and gather that long blonde hair to twirl a few times in his fingers before clipping it up out of his eyes in a loose sort of high ponytail. Caleb shouldn't have to see the blond edition of the girl from The Ring sitting on the couch.

Then Daisy runs through the door, and his eyes trail from her boundless curiosity of the area to Caleb.]

Researcher Clove. [He figures he'll start with that.] I'd say 'what a coincidence', but you've probably put the pieces together.

[ He could hear the movement. Three-no, four beings. One falling to the floor with weight on four points. The harsh clicking of metal against wood; Lycaon moving around in the Kitchen. Oh, Nevermind. No longer in the kitchen. His ears could follow the sound until it stopped next to him, but his brain was buffering until he could feel the larger hands in his hair and his line of sight clearing up.

Daisy bounds past, and it takes him a bit more time to realize that was not a normal cat that just crossed his cleared eyesight. The name dawns on him as an affiliate with POKEGO and.... nothing. He needs more juice. ]

Thank you. [ Said quietly. He wouldn't be ungrateful for Lycaon's immense aid, regardless of the fight that nearly sparked. If they wanted to tread that tired ground, they could do it later when he was aware of existence. ]

I've never seen him actually want to impress someone before. [ A little quieter. ]

[ if the tired look effects him Mollymauk doesn't show it, only chuckling as the cat-like creature leaps off Caleb's shower and darts past his feet. without missing a beat the tiefling steps aside to let the other man inside. once he does come inside Molly closes the door and walks past him, half following the cat half trying to act as though Caleb's arrival hasn't ruffled any of his proverbial feathers. ]

Look at her, already making herself at home and everything. It's not much but make yourself at home, Caleb.

[ Molly casts a quick glance around the apartment and frowns. He hasn't seen his cat since he woke up this morning, or heard the little devil, which isn't as much of a worry as it could be. ghost cats and all that. part of him hopes Frumpkin stays mysteriously absent for the rest of this breakfast event, suddenly not wanting to explain why he has a ghost cat named after a certain wizard's familiar. ]

Researcher Clove? [ he settles on the other end of the couch, cocking his head to the side as he tail wraps around his own ankle. ] Oh, you got yourself wrapped up with those POKEGO people, did you?

[Caleb nods to Molly as he enters, offering a tight smile.]

After a fashion. They...saved me from a far worse fate.

[He's not going to elaborate on that yet, instead looking around at the small apartment and its occupants. At least he's seen Lycaon over video already, so he isn't startled by the wolfman in the room.]
