nnnnnnot quite? Okay so it's set in the xianxia genre, and specifically in the spiritual cultivation genre: protagonists "cultivate" their bodies and physical prowess to reach supernatural heights. Think like...if training at the gym could give you superpowers like immortality if you just focused hard enough over a long enough period of time.

"Demonic" cultivation is, essentially, when you use steroids to help you along. But it's a lot more complicated than that? Look I will be the first to admit I'm just here for the wirework stunts. Anyway the boyfriend doesn't cultivate demons more than he's cultivating in a way that's dangerous to his own health.
