[ It's his turn in the kitchen in Meropide today. As such, he's hard at work--a kitchen brush in one hand, and a pair of tongs in the other as he continues to coat a slowly cooking rack of ribs in the stove, applying more layers of bold sauce to them as they broil.
So imagine how he jumps when he sees the trace of a string, of all things, close to a heat source???
He lifts his wrist up and stares, openly, at the strange string that's... attached to him? His doglike ears lift and swivel as he turns to look around--either at who might be spending time in the kitchen preparing food with him, or someone that's come to visit for their free meal.
He gives a little laugh, almost in disbelief. ]
It's not safe to tie things to me while I'm close to a stove, you know. Be careful.

After all, his most private home is out in the city; a shared space with a quiet dragon man and the once-Archon of Fontaine, he still likes to spend time here to keep himself from returning to being isolated down in the cold lonely confines of his office. He's serving tea and cake to Furina while Neuvillette is out on some work order with his Law office, and it's when he places a slice of the fine fruit parfait-like cake in front of her, that he notices she's got a starkly different colored bit of ribbon on her outfit today. Hm. Strange. ]
Red's not ordinarily your color. It's mine. Changing some things up, miss? [ he teases her with a slight lilt to his voice as he reaches forward to poke her nose--only to realise he, too, has the same ribbon on his wrist.
