I'm Your Moon (day one)

[Varian has always been fascinated with space- before he even started living in a time period where much was known about the heavens at all. He's always wanted to see it, and while he doesn't appreciate waking up with no idea how he got here (and appreciates even less that he can't contact his loved ones on Earth) he can't help but press up to the window, watching Neptune float in the darkness. He's grinning like a kid at Christmas.]

This is so cool. I am a tiny bit concerned about the time difference between here and Earth- a day here is much, much shorter, after all. Much as it's fascinating to be here, if we're away from home for too long, it's gonna worry people.

[Or perhaps you'll find him at the Core, watching it rotate around. He doesn't have anything to write one so he's just gonna be sitting cross-legged on the metal floor, doing math in this head.]

The mechanics are genius. Like- like horrifically dangerous and it'd probably kill us all if it turned on, but it's still fascinating! I'd LOVE to see all the schematics of it.

Sticking It To Myself (day three)

[This is not the first time Varian has dealt with hallucinations like this. He remembers in Corona, when Cass set the red rocks on them all. He remembers having to learn quick how to defend his mind from itself- to battle through the images flicking into existence so he could get to the source of the mess and end it before everyone was lost to them. It was the action that finally, finally proved to the people of Corona that he was on their side again. That he wasn't some unhinged sociopath waiting to hurt them again.

Back in Corona, he'd watched his father get swallowed by the Amber again. He'd watched the people of Corona turn on him for the traitor he was. Here? Here it's just himself. What follows Varian around is a younger version of the young man trying to ignore it. A bitter, angry fourteen-year-old compared to the eighteen-year-old focusing on the doorway leading to the Lewis and Clark.]

You know you're just kidding yourself, right? You can "improve" yourself all you like, but it'll take one mistake and they'll show their true colours. And then you'll be left alone, again. You should get them before they get you, you kno-

[The real Varian raises his voice in a sing-song tone, deliberately trying to talk over... himself.]

I can't hear yoooou. Too busy trying to get the doors open! [He doesn't have his tools with him, but he's still poking at it anyway.] There's gotta be a way to compromise the structural integrity of this to get it open.

Someone Is Crazy (day three)

[Once it becomes clear that some of the folks on board are desperate to start the Core again, Varian makes his way to the Core room. He moves to stand guard by the controls, his ARCUS and a vial of Flynnolium to hand. If anyone comes into the room or near the controls, he raises the latter warningly.]

Look. I don't wanna hurt you, but setting this off is like, the worst idea ever. I think we've already firmly established that. So how about you just... back away from this and not open the black hole to hell again? And then I won't have to throw an explosive in a space ship. Sound good?

Wildcard!

[Want something else? Wanna main the lad? Lemmie know!]
