[There was a lot he had to do today. Stalling would serve no purpose, least of all when these goddamned moogles were only increasing their efforts at intervention. In recent days he'd taken to leaving the Academy not only on time (for a change) but out through various windows in bird form. The occasional cardboard boxes and hurriedly drawn cartoon hedges out front meant the damn things were all but lying in wait for him.]
[So it was a matter of pulling the trigger before it was pulled for him, which pushed his calculations forward considerably. On this specific day, Waver could only be seen around town by those with particularly sharp eyes; ducking in and out of alleyways carrying a shopping bag full of varying items--including, if one looked closely, a small bouquet of red and yellow roses.]
[Perhaps you've noticed him in the midst of one such vanishing act, hurriedly scrambling around the corner of a building into the shadows--moments later, a moogle comes down the street and looks around in confusion before turning off in a different direction.]
[Unfortunately for Waver, the building he chose to hide behind was that suspicious store with the oddly intermittent schedule. And perhaps, as he double checked to make sure the coast was clear, something got mysteriously slipped into his pocket.]

['Let's do something fun tonight.' he'd offered in as casual a way as possible with his heart lodged firmly in his throat trying to choke him to death. 'Change of pace, you know?']
[That change of pace took the form of an evening on the roof of their apartment building, with an apple-based cake and a freshly made pot of tea. A perfectly calm night under the stars. Nothing odd or unusual about that. Not a single thing.]
